Hey Disney Fans!

It's a great day to be a Disney fan!  Available today on Disney DVD + Digital Copy - Lemonade Mouth Extended Edition and DVD/Blu-ray - Gnomeo and Juliet!!

PhotobucketI have a daughter who is 8 and she was super excited when Lemonade Mouth premiered on Disney.  Bridgit Mendler is one of Shelby's favorite Disney stars.  She loves Good Luck Charlie.  I was excited to see Tisha Campbell-Martin.  I used to love her on "Martin".  Lemonade Mouth:  Extended Edition includes an extended performance of "Livin' on a High Wire" and an exciting "Rock Along" version of the movie that allows fans to sing along with lyrics to all the songs by following the lyrics on screen!  Of course the DVD features the 10 original songs from the No1 soundtrack!  I will admit that we have a couple of the songs on the Ipod that we jam out to in the car!

Lemonade Mouth is a great movie and will relate to many kids who feel they don't have a "voice" in their school/society!  In a school where the Principle exclusively supports the athletic programs while the others are forced to meet and practice in the basement, a group of friends decide to take the school by storm.  Not only are friendships formed, but a band is formed as well and the rest is history.

Lemonade Mouth - Extended Edition hits shelves today!!

PhotobucketGnomeo and Juliet is a hillarious twist on Shakespeare's legendary tale of Romeo and Juliet as you've never seen it before!  It's perfect for the whole family, in fact choosing sides (Red or Blue) is a fun way to watch!  From the director of Shrek 2, this out of the ordinary comedy releases on Blu-Ray, Blu-Ray 3D, DVD, Movie Download, and On-Demand today!

The DVD is packed with never before seen bonus features including "Elton Builds A Garden", "Frog Talk with Ashley Jensen", Crockidile Rock Music Video featuring Elton John and Nelly Furtado" to name a few.  The movie is packed with star studded voices including Ozzy Osbourne, Patrick Stewart, Dolly Parton, Jason Statham, Michael Cane, Emily Blunt, and James McAvoy.

The Blu-Ray is packed with Bonus features including 2 alternate endings with filmmaker instructions, Deleted & Alternate Scenes with Filmmaker Instructions including alternate opening, scenes, and deleted scenes.

If you have not seen this movie, get out from under your rock and go get this DVD or Blu-Ray!  It is a hilarious film about feuding gnomes.  Two young gnomes fall in love under torrential circumstances.  The Reds and The Blues are bitter enemies and Gnomeo and Juliet have to overcome obstacles to make their love work.  With lawnmower races, pink flamingos, and Ozzy Osbourne voicing a deer...surely I've piqued your curiosity about the movie!

It is available TODAY, so go grab your copy.

Toy Story 3 on DVD

PhotobucketIn case you've been living under a rock and didn't realize it yet, I thought I'd let you in on a little secret. The final installment of the Toy Story Trilogy has made it to Disney DVD/Blue Ray just in time for you to begin your holiday shopping. What, you haven't even thought about your holiday shopping yet? Well, never fear you're not alone. But, you know that Disney DVDs are always a great idea for anyone on your list. I took the kids to see Toy Story 3 when it debuted in theaters in Disney Digital 3D. It was an awesome movie and we loved it. You can read my review here.

If you've not seen this one, really you are missing out on the best of the Toy Story movies, in my opinion. Even though I have not had a kid grow up and go to college, I know I will and it was a hard movie for me to watch. I DID cry as Andy packed up his toys to move away to college. The end sealed the deal for me too...I won't spoil it for those of you who have yet to see it. But, seriously go out and pick up a copy next time you stumble into Wal-Mart for some milk and end up spending half your day and most of your paycheck in there!

In the mean time you can watch this clip from the Bonus Features:

Did you know that Dancing With The Stars' Tony Dovolani & Cheryl Burke choreographed the "Latin Buzz" dance scene? This clip explains!

With the Blu-Ray Combo pack, a Blu-ray Disc plus a DVD and a Digital Copy of the movie in a single package, you can enjoy the movie in three different formats! This is by far the best value offered. It is also packed with Bonus features including The Day and Night Short (we LOVED this one), Buzz Lightyear Mission logs, Toy Story Trivia Dasn (a cool game that challenges you to sprint to the finish with Woody, Buzz, Jessie and Rex as you quickly answer questions about all three Toy Story movies) and much, MUCH more.

If you've not entered the contest to win the latest Disney Merchandise from Tangled, you can DO SO HERE!!!

Swim the Ocean with Disneynature

Photobucket
Disney has taken us previously taken us under the sea with Ariel and Nemo, but Disneynature presents Oceans as a Disney Blu-ray Combo Pack (Blu- ray + DVD) as you've never seen the sea before! This film puts you right in the action as whales and dolphins leap through the air, sea lions and sea turtles bask on the beach, and coral reef comes to life. This is not your 5th grade Science class under water doccumentary. The film makers captured mesmerizing footage using the most technologically-advanced equipment that has allowed them to bring this to true high-definition powers! Oh, and in case I haven't reeled you in yet, I'll tell ya that Pierce Brosnan is the ever so captivating narrator.

We sat down and put this movie in and I was fully prepared for a nap, but once the movie started I quickly realized that myself nor my children would be napping. Instead we popped some popcorn and watched the movie in it's entirety. Hubby came in at the end of the movie and got interested in it, so we started it over and watched it again. The kids LOVED it and so did we! It is a great movie and a wonderful way to teach our children why we have to protect our wild life! The DVD had the "Make A Wave" Disney's Friends For Change Music Video Featuring Joe Jonas and Demi Lovato!

This DVD is available now from Disneynature DVD. For more information on this title or other Disneynature or Disney titles, you can click the box art above. To see the Oceans Trailer, click below.

Beauty & The Beast The Diamond Edition

Photobucket
One of my favorite Disney Classics is Beauty and the Beast.  Unavailable in any form since 2003, Beauty and the Beast will be released from the Disney vault for a limited time only, arriving on a Blu-ray + DVD Combo Pack (2 Blu-ray Discs + DVD) October 5  Today, Disney is opening the vault and it will be available for purchase on Blu-ray + DVD Combo Pack! Beauty and The Beast is the first of only two animated films ever to be nominated for an Academy Award® for Best Picture (in case you were wondering, the second is 2009’s Up), Beauty and the Beast earned six Academy Award® nominations and won two Oscars® in 1992 for Best Original Song (“Beauty and the Beast”) and Best Original Score.

Beauty and The Beast is Disney’s most requested film and my all time favorite! The Blu-ray transformation
reveals the magic, music and majesty of the film as never before experienced with state-of-the-art picture restoration, pristine 7.1 Digital Surround Sound and hours of additional viewing experiences that includes behind the scenes features, deleted scenes, enhanced music tracks, immersive games and more.

When we received this DVD for review, I was excited to watch it and my kids informed me that they'd never seen it!  I was floored when I realized that I had deprived my children from the experience of seeing this Disney film, which just so happens to be one of my favorites!!!  We have it on VHS, and I guess we just never watch those old VHS tapes anymore.  The kids never even open up that cabinet when choosing a movie.  This movie did not disappoint, as each and every member of my family enjoyed watching.  Beauty and The Beast is a timeless classic that will live on for generations.  I am so glad that Disney has released it from the vault and I hope that if there are other families out there that do not own this on DVD will upgrade to the Diamond Version of Beauty and The Beast and add it to your collection!

Tinker Bell and The Great Fairy Rescue

Photobucket
Did you know that Tinker Bell was honored with a Star on Hollwood's Walk of Fame on Tuesday, September 21, 2010? Tinker Bell’s twinkling star ceremony coincided with the debut of Disney Fairies’ latest feature film (from Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment), “Tinker Bell and the Great Fairy Rescue”. The Hollywood Walk of Fame is an internationally-recognized Hollywood icon. With about 24 induction ceremonies annually broadcast around the world, the constant reinforcement provided to the public has made the Walk of Fame a top visitor attraction. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce continues to administer the Walk as the representative of the City of Los Angeles. The Walk is a tribute to all of those who worked so hard to develop the concept and to maintain this world-class tourist attraction.

PhotobucketBefore Tink met Peter Pan and the lost boys, she met Lizzie - a girl who believed in fairies with all of her heart. Their two worlds collide and Tink risks her own safety and the safety of her fairy friends as the Fairies set out on an adventure to London to save one of their own! Lizzy is quite the character and reminded me so much of myself when I was a kid, especially her little "Scientific Fairy Research Journal". I have two girls (age 8 and 2). They LOVE Tinker Bell. Even my 5 year old son loves the Tinker Bell movies. He probably wouldn't want to announce that on the school playground, but really he does!

I enjoy the fact that Tinker Bell is no longer just Peter Pan's little non-talking Fairy friend but, along with her Fairy Friends she is one of Disney's most successful franchises! Tinkerbell and the Great Fairy Rescue is available now on Disney's Blu-ray + DVD Combo Pack. By clicking here, you can print a coupon to save $10 off your Combo Pack! Just a little "thank you" gift for my readers and Disney Fans.

The Last Song on DVD and Blu-Ray

PhotobucketAvailable today on Blu-ray™ Hi-Def Combo Pack and DVD from Touchstone Home
Entertainment: The Last Song starring Disney's very own Miley Cyrus, A/K/A Hannah Montana and Greg Kinnear (Oscar®
nominee, Best Actor in a Supporting Role, As Good As It Gets, 1997, Little Miss Sunshine, You've Got Mail). If you're raising a teenage daughter, knows someone who is raising a teenage daughter, or face raising a teenage daughter in your future I would highly recommend this one! It is an emotional roller coaster. As the movie begins, Miley's character Ronnie is a complete and total spoiled brat who back talks her father and is mean to just about every single person she comes across. She's harsh and rude. As events unfold in the movie we learn why she has hardened her heart just as it begins to soften up. It is a great "coming of age" movie, to be very cliche. It will probably make you cry...well, it made ME cry. It is an awesome movie. I have not read the book, so before you ask me how different it was, I cannot say. The screen play was written by best selling novelist and screen writer Nicolas Sparks who also wrote The Notebook!

Bonus Features for The Last Song:

• Set Tour with Bobby Coleman – Audiences will have an all access pass to see how a
film is made through the eyes of the new up-and comer and star of The Last Song,
Bobby Coleman. This rambunctious eight-year old will bring his fans along as he
does everything from interview Adam Shankman and Miley’s security team, to
going on a seashell scavenger hunt.

• Making of the Music Video, “When I Look At You” with Miley Cyrus – Go behind-
the-scenes of the music video, “When I Look At You”. It will feature recording studio
footage, b-roll from the set, interviews with Miley and crew, clips from the film and music
video. Audiences will learn how the film’s motif, southern summer romance, is
incorporated into feel and theme of the music video.
• Miley Cyrus Music Video: “When I Look At You”

Blu-Ray Exclusive
• Alternate Opening Sequence: The Church Fire (With optional commentary by
director)
• Deleted Scenes (With optional commentary by director)
o Ronnie At The Piano
o Steve & Ronnie At The Beach
o Hospital Montage
o Vegan Cookies
o Juggling On The Pier
• Audio Commentary– with Director Julie Anne Robinson and Co-Producer Jennifer
Gibgot.

This titles hit the shelves today, so go grab some popcorn and junior mints (Hey, don't knock it 'till you try it!) and don't forget the tissue. Enjoy!

Starstruck on DVD from Disney

PhotobucketWe have waited with great anticipation the release of Disney's newest full length feature, Starstruck starring none other than "Chad Dillon Cooper" a/k/a Sterling Knight from Sonny With A Chance. This is one of my daughter's favorite television shows!  We watched Starstruck when it originally aired on Disney and thankfully we DVRed it so we could watch it over and over.

"StarStruck, a music and adventure-filled romp that hits all the right notes for kids and tweens, tells the story of Jessica Olson (Danielle Campbell, Prison Break) and her older sister Sara (Maggie Castle, Time Traveler’s Wife), who are heading to Hollywood from Kalamazoo, Michigan, on a family trip to visit their grandmother. Sara is obsessed with pop star Christopher Wilde (Sterling Knight, Sonny with a Chance) and hopes to track him down while in California, but Jessica could care less about the stuck-up star and would rather go sightseeing. When the sisters arrive in L.A. Sara takes Jessica on a hunt to find Christopher and a chance meeting with the star sets off a series of comic adventures that feature many of L.A.’s landmark locations. As the sisters sight see and spend time together, Jessica gets to know the real Christopher and soon their friendship grows. Ultimately Christopher must decide what is more important -- being himself or becoming a movie star. Disney Channel stars Brandon Mychal Smith (Sonny With a Chance) and Chelsea Staub (JONAS) also star as Christopher’s loyal best friend and fame hungry girlfriend, respectively."
Today, this Disney Channel Hit Movie is available two ways: as a single DVD or a 2 disc set that includes the DVD+ Full Length Soundtrack CD. Each exciting release contains a never-before-seen exclusive extended scene and additional music with eight Rock-Along tracks and three music videos. The 2 disc set includes the DVD, plus the Walt Disney Records CD soundtrack with chart-climbing songs performed by stars Sterling Knight and Brandon Mychal Smith (“Sonny With A Chance”) among others.  For more information, you can click the movie box art above.  For more Disney Movies, you can click here to visit Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment (WDSHE).

If you haven't picked up Disney's Alice in Wonderland,
you can click the box art to get a coupon for
$10 off the Blu-ray + DVD Combo Pack!
What a deal.

Gerber Graduates Preschooler Snacks - A Review

My kids and I recently teamed up with the folks at Gerber to sample a few products from their Gerber Graduates line. On the menu were Gerber Graduates Preschooler Snacks.

Photobucket
Gerber Graduates for Preschoolers Fruit Twists
"Fruit Twists are real fruit snacks that are perfect for on the go snacking – best of all they are made with 99% real concentrated fruit and juice and provide ½ of a preschooler serving of fruit per twist as well as 25% of the daily preschooler amount of antioxidant vitamin C. The great thing about these Fruit Twists, is that your child can pull them apart and eat one flavor at a time, or eat them both at once, combining the two flavors. Either way, your child can choose what they like best!"
What we thought:
PhotobucketMy children LOVE fruit snacks.  This was a pure treat for them.  They all loved the fruit twists.  They come in two flavors:  Strawberry and Grape as well as Apple and Strawberry.  The Strawberry and Grape seemed to be the crowd pleaser at my house.  Of course I don't believe that this should take the place of fruit in your home, but if you're on the go as much as we are, they will easily fit in the diaper bag and you'll have a great, healthy snack for any trip you're taking. A five pack will cost around $2.99 so they are a bit pricier than the store brand snacks, but reading the ingredients might steer you toward the Gerber brand. This was by far the favorite of my children!

Photobucket Gerber Graduates for Preschoolers Cereal Twists

"Cereal Twists are made with whole grains and two flavored yogurt fillings. Each cereal bar is individually wrapped for convenient on-the-go snacking and comes in three delicious flavors: Strawberry Blueberry, Banana Peach and Raspberry Vanilla."

What we thought:
The kids didn't like these as much as I did! If you've ever eaten the Nutra-Grain type bars these are similar in texture and taste. Emily (age 19 months) enjoyed them but my 4 and 7 year old passed on them very quickly and asked for more Fruit Twists!

PhotobucketGerber Graduates for Preschoolers Chewy Granola Bars
"Chewy Granola bars are made with whole grain rolled oats and wheat flakes for a unique soft texture that preschoolers love – they’re naturally flavored and provide 10% daily value for 4 vitamins and minerals. They have 6g of whole grains per bar and have no preservatives or artificial flavors."
What we thought:
These bars were also a hit with the kids.  We tried the apple cinnamon and the strawberry.  Shelby especially loved this product.  Since she takes her lunch to school daily, I am constantly struggling to find healthy snacks that she can transport easily in her lunch box.  We've tried other granola bars and usually she's not a big fan.  She really liked these.

The Bottom Line:
All in all, the Gerber Graduates for Preschoolers line are a good alternative snack.  Lets face it, as parents we'd much rather see our children snacking on a granola bar than a chocolate bar!  By keeping such snacks handy, we're teaching our children to make good choices when snacking and setting a standard which they will carry with them from childhood into their adult life.  Who knew that choosing snacks for your children could play such an important role in their future?!  For more information on Gerber Graduates and other Gerber lines, you can click here.

Celia's Puppies Blog Tour

I am a busy mom who works during the day and has no time at night to even come close to catching up on anything that I would want to DVR during the day!  When I was younger (pre-kid era) I loved to get intertwined in soap operas.  Oh what fun to watch Reva and Josh get together, split up, marry siblings, and die only to come back to life.  Guiding Light was one of my favorites but there were others I was sucked into as well.

PhotobucketI was given the opportunity recently through the awesome folks over at Business2Blogger to team up with Claudia Hall Christian, author of Denver Cereal to do a book tour.  I was stoked to find out about this series.  It is literally a written soap!!  The story is of course fictional, although much of the drama, I am sure occur in every day life for lots of people.  The story takes place in Denver, Colorado.  "In the style of true serial fiction, Denver Cereal is published as it is written. Each week brings a new chapter of Denver Cereal. Posted Monday through Saturday at Denver Cereal, or in its entirety at On A Limb with Claudia and Stories by Claudia. Denver Cereal has been published in two volumes : Denver Cereal and Celia’s Puppies. You may download a free electronic copy of the books or find them at Amazon, Barnes and Noble, or your local bookstore and library."  When I began to read the book, Celia's Puppies I loved the story line but was confused on the characters since Celia's Puppies is the second installment of Denver Cereal.  Via the website, I was able to get up to speed and pick up where Denver Cereal left off in Celia's Puppies.

Boy, was I in for a ride!  I am the kind of person who starts reading a book and finds it difficult to make it to a "stopping point".  I want to keep reading.  This book made it very hard to find that stopping point because the drama was never ending.  There was never a lul moment where I thought I could put the book down and pick it back up later.  There are lots of characters in this book (just as in your favorite soaps) to keep up with and let me tell you, none of their lives are boring!  I was constantly wondering, "What Next?"  because it all intertwined some how or another.  Jacob Marlowe is president of Lipson Construction, and is a true knight in shining armor.  He's a man that any woman would love to snag.  Jill Roper, his girlfriend is an identifiable character.  She's vulnerable, naive, and full of emotion.  They make a great pair.  She's the damsel in distress and he's always there to swoop in and save her from the wrong doings of the world.  I don't want to give away too much of the plot but suffice it to say that there is NOTHING missing from this story line.  There is love, hate, death (now I've got your attention, right??!!), comedy, drama (by the truckload!), romance, action, the list really goes on and on.  Oh, and there are psychics as well...but I won't tell you WHO, as I don't want to spoil it for you.

I'm sure that by now you can figure out that I loved this book.  I am so excited that I got to be a part of this book tour and look forward to the next book.  I love to curl up with a good book after the kids go to bed and I have some free time while everyone else is sleeping!

Now that your interest is peaked, why don't you hop on over and snag your copy of Denver Cereal and Celia's Puppies.  For this blog tour, Claudia has extended a 20% discount (not available on Amazon.com).  Just enter the code BLOGTOUR.

Denver Cereal : The place is real. The characters are fiction.

Movie Night: Fantastic Mr Fox

The kids and I took the opportunity to have a "movie night" and decided that our feature film would be Fantastic Mr Fox (rated PG).   The voice talents of George Clooney and Meryl Streep enticed me.  The fact that it was animated had the kids hook, line, and sinker.  Based on the beloved best-selling book by Roald Dahl (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory), Fantastic Mr. Fox is all around entertainment for the entire family! Bill Murray (Lost In Translation), Owen Wilson (Marley & Me) and Willem Dafoe (Spiderman triology) also voice some pretty hilarious characters in this film.

It had a sort of Ocean's Eleven feel to it for me. Maybe it was the spectacularly sexy Clooney voice that did it. I also think that some of the story line, such as the different plots for the greatest heist the animal world has ever seen. The dialogue in this movie was witty and the characters were laughable and eccentric, especially the mole and the rat!

If you're looking for a DVD to watch with the entire family, we think you should give this one a try. We liked it!

Tickler Tags Review & Giveaway

My daughter Shelby takes her lunch on most days. She never has cared much for the cafeteria food (and who could blame her) at her school. I've just made it routine to make her lunch daily. She loves it when I put a note in her lunch box. I will write words of encouragement or sometimes just a simple I Love You note and it will bring a smile to her face because she has a note from her mom and she can enjoy it while eating her PB&J.

Tickler TagsThanks to the fine folks over at Business2Blogger, I have been connected with Nicole, Mom and Owner of Tickler Tags, interchangeable backpack reminder tags that parents attach to their child’s backpack. They can be used to communicate words of encouragement, positive feedback or to remind your little one of a task they might otherwise forget.

When I received my Tickler Tags, I'm not sure who was more excited, my 7 year old daughter Shelby or myself!  We decided that since our routine is the same on most days that the Smiles and Words of Encouragement Tags would be most useful for our family.  We do have the Early Release tag as well so that we can both remember those days when she gets out of school early.

Shelby loved the carabiner clip. She couldn't get it on her lunchbox fast enough. She was excited that she would have something completely different from the other students in her class making her stand out of the crowd. Each day she looks forward to seeing which Tickler Tag adorns her clip. These are a wonderful idea and very reasonably priced. You can also customize tags for yourself if you so choose with photos and text. What a brilliant idea!

The carabiner clips come in four bright colors: orange, blue, red, and purple and retail for $2.50. The tags themselves are $1.50 each with the customized tags at $5. You can purchase HERE via PayPal, and most major credit cards.

Nicole has anxiously agreed to give away a set of your choice of (5) five Tickler Tags with (1) one carabiner clip in your choice of color to one lucky reader!

Fashion Playtes - Online Design for Girls

Shelby
As most of my regular readers know, Shelby my oldest child is quite the little diva.  Gone are the days when I could just wake her up, dress her, brush her hair and send her out the door.  She now has a say in every single aspect of her wardrobe from accessories and the likes down to her shoes.  I learned a long time ago to do this the night before so we are not scrambling around in the mornings trying to get it together.  Shelby has expressed to me before that she would like to be a designer so she could make her own clothes.  In fact, she has done just that from time to time.  She has scribbled designs on paper and she will emerge from her closet sometimes with the strangest combinations.  She will have scarves tied around her waist as belts.  She will layer shirts with different prints, or wear shorts over pants.

PhotobucketWhen I was asked to do a review for the website Fashion Playtes I knew that this would be something that Shelby would be very excited about.  Fashion Playtes puts your daughter in the designer's seat!  She will begin with the sketch book. She'll select the item she would like to use for her design from the Fashion Playtes Sketchbook. Then, she Be choose a pattern, color and fabric. By adding special touches like ribbons, fuffles, appliques and more she will make the design uniquely her own. This is her chance to show that one-of-a-kind style I mentioned that my daughter has!  When she's happy with her order, you can add it to your cart, check out, and Fashion Playtes will do the rest.  Your daughter's very own design will be shipped to her within 3 weeks.

When Shelby heard about it she couldn't wait to get online and try it out.  She has been wanting a vest, so she immediately chose it.  She went through all of the steps in designing.  We made the mistake of not creating an account before starting which posed a bit of problem when we got ready to order and we had to go back and re-do the design.  This, of course did not upset Shelby one bit.  It just meant that she got to play designer a bit longer.

Fashion Playtes
Shelby's custom label
Shelby chose "The Madison" (vest) with Pink Dots on Black Ribbon Ribbon and custom label, which she also designed. She had so much fun trying several different designs and ultimately went with one that she knew would match a particular shirt she had.

Shelby
Shelby sporting her new design!

Shelby
Two thumbs up on her design!
Once the design was complete, she was excited about the prospect of getting her vest in the mail. It takes about 3 weeks to get your design in once your order is placed. Of course to Shelby it was a horribly long 3 weeks, but once the package was received she was very excited and could not get it open fast enough. In fact, she opened it before I could even get any pictures of her doing so!

I am very happy with the overall quality of the product, the ease of navigation on the website, and the price of the garment. Another great thing about Fashion Playtes is that they offer gift cards so this would make a perfect gift for that fashionista on your shopping list. It's a great place for a young girl to express creativity and self expression! Shelby AND I give Fashion Playtes and her new Madison Vest two (well, okay 4!) thumbs way up. Wumblers DVD Review

After Mom and former teacher, Laura Wellington lost her husband to cancer she wanted to help her own four children cope with the loss.  She came up with a brilliant idea and created The Wumbler Series and The Wumbler Patch. It is wonderful to see ordinary women taking a truly negative situation and turning it into a positive, not just for their own self, but for others as well.

Both The Wumblers series and The Wumbler Patch brand support "Green Living" throughout the story lines pertaining to all aspects of The Wumblers series. Wumbleton is an extremely non-wasteful society where food falls from the sky only when needed, babies are born from watermelon, and Mother Wumbler provides the "green" lessons that the entire community lives by.

The Wumblers teach character building, and spread positive, family friendly messages in a non-intrusive way. The main Wumbler is Bertrum and when a Wumbler turns five years old they also turn into the color they are supposed to be. The very first episode in the series shows how Bertrum is so nervous that once he turns color people won't like him anymore. His best buddy Raimundo, a Spanish speaking snail and his imaginary friends reassures him that everyone loves him for who he is on the inside not what color he is on the outside. It is messages like this that thread their way throughout each episode.

We received a Wumbler DVD (Volume 2) which contains two episodes:  "Roosters Don't Bark" and "I'm Too Small" as well as a collector plush Wumbler that my youngest daughter fell in love with!  We immediately had to go online and register our Wumbler. The kids were also excited to see the series on the Trinity Broadcasting Network! You can see all of the scheduled TV listings by clicking here.

Roosters Don't Bark teaches a beautiful lesson about self acceptance.  Lenny, Mr Flynns rooster overhears how much everyone loves their dogs and cats, he decides that he wants to be one as well.  After Lenny tries to be every pet imaginable, even a goldfish he learns from his friends that "being you is the best thing to do"!

I'm Too Small tackles an issue that most parents with young children have delt with.  All of the Wumblers were trying to get to the Watermelon Patch.  In order to ride the train, they had to be measured to see if they were tall enough to ride.  Raimundo was too small to ride because the safety bar would not hold him in.  This made him sad, especially when he was called names, like "short shell".  Thankfully Raimundo helps Baby Jasper later and realizes that his size might hinder him sometimes but made him the hero in the end!

My thoughts:
I really loved the message that The Wumblers bring.  The bright colors were eye catching and seemed to really intrigue my 18 month old daughter.  The older two children (ages 4 and 7) also liked the series and seemed to understand the message.  We had a discussion after the I'm Too Small episode because we have been in such situations when we were at fairs and amusement parks so they knew how Raimundo felt when hew as refused a ride on the train.  All in all, I think that The Wumblers DVDs are a very good investment for any parent who is looking for some good, wholesome entertainment for your children.

Free Willy Escape From Pirate's Cove Review

{Contest Closed}
Winners: Pixie13 & Cheryl

Well, isn't she a beauty?!?  I think so and I just know her father would have been so proud of her.  I'm talking about Bindi Irwin.  She's such a sweet and very talented little girl.  When I saw the trailer to Free Willy Escape From Pirate's Cove I was intrigued but even more so when I realized that Bindi Irwin, the daughter of the late great Steve Irwin was in it.  I remember watching the first Free Willy movie when it came to DVD.  I was excited to show this one to my children.  They were just as excited to watch!

Irwin plays Kirra who leaves her Australian home to vacation for the summer with her father, played by Beau Bridges in South Africa.  Kirra discovers a baby orca who has become stranded in the lagoon near her grandfather's run down amusement park.  She takes it upon herself to return the whale who she names Willy to his pod in order to keep a rival theme park owner from using him as an attraction in his park.

The DVD is available NOW on Blu-Ray combo pack, DVD, and download.  You can also check out the official site where you can see the official movie trailer, play games, view photos as well as videos as well as downloads.

DVD Extras include:

Free Willy pop-up fun track

The Princess and The Frog Give Away - Sticky Post

Shelby and I had plans to go see Disney's The Princess and The Frog on the big screen, but we never made it. We were excited to learn of it's March 16th release to on Blu-ray™ Combo Pack and DVD. You see, we read a story each night at bedtime. I like to buy Shelby chapter books and we read one or two chapters each night. We read this story and we both fell in love with it.  It's the story of Tiana, a beautiful hard working young woman who dreams of owning her own restaurant some day.  She has no idea how far that dream will take her.  But, with the help of friends and the courage to overcome the greatest of odds, Tiana learns what she really needs to make her dreams become a reality.

It is a wonderful story about following your dreams.  Shelby and I love Disney's newest princess.  Tiana is a great role model for all young girls as she never gives up on her dream of owning a restaurant, even when it looks like all hope is gone.  Of course all of Disney's movies include wonderful messages, I felt like this one sends a message that most anyone, young and old can connect with!

The single disk DVD comes with: deleted Scenes, audio commentary by John Musker and Ron Clements (co-writers and directors) and Peter Del Vecho (producer), “Never Knew I Needed” a Music video by Ne-Yo, as well as What Do You See: Princess Portraits — A bayou-style quiz tests viewers’ knowledge of all of Disney’s beautiful princesses. Ray’s firefly family creates twinkling portraits of each princess and if the player correctly identifies her, they can enjoy a tongue-cheek mini re-telling of that character’s story.

The Blue Ray Combo Pack comes with additional bonus features including:

• Backstage Disney Magic In The Bayou: The Making of A Princess — Co-writers and directors John Musker and Ron Clements take a freewheeling, behind-the-scenes look at the making of Disney’s newest animated film.
• The Return To Hand Drawn Animation
• The Disney Legacy
• Disney’s Newest Princess
• The Princess and the Animator
• Conjuring The Villain
• A Return To The Animated Musical
• Bringing Life to Animation with an introduction by John Musker and Ron Clements.
• Deleted Scenes introduced by the filmmakers
• Art Galleries — A collection of storyboard art traces the visual development of The Princess and the Frog’s rich gallery of characters and settings

Today's DVD releases:

Disney's The Princess and The Frog- Disney’s newest princess, Tiana, joins ranks with Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Belle, Ariel, Pocahontas, Jasmine and Mulan. The Princess and the Frog is Disney’s first princess film since Mulan, which was released in June 1998.

You can read my full review and the DVD and BluRay extras in the previous contest post.  If you'd like a chance to win a copy of this DVD, click here.  The contest ends Friday!

Not to be outshined by a mere Princess, Caillou - Caillou Pretends to be is also available today on DVD from PBS.   Jam packed into this DVD are 14 episodes of the popular PBS for Kids Television show featuring the ever imaginative Caillou who pretends to be everything from a Police Officer to a builder.  This show definitely inspires imagination which I love.  The DVD includes extras such as “Caillou’s Music Videos,” interactive games, character bios, parents’ information and coloring pages.

My younger kids love PBS and enjoyed this DVD, I think my oldest was probably off somewhere fixing her hair or changing her clothes for the fifteenth time.  If you have younger children, this is a great video to keep around for those times when you need to get some chores done or take with you on vacation to pop in the DVD player as you travel as it's run time is approximately 100 minutes.

Nescafe Instant Coffee Review and Giveaway

{Contest Closed}
I was awakened this morning at 4am by a sick baby.  I thought it was a perfect time to try a product I'd received for review:  Nescafe Taster's Choice.  After cleaning up the sick baby, I put the bed covers in the wash and prepared my first cup.  I tried the gourmet roast to get the morning started off right.  I think the spoon stood on it's own as I was stirring this stuff.  What a way to start your day!  It is most definitely a strong coffee.  In fact, I didn't have enough hair on my chest to drink it without doctoring it up.  I am not a black coffee drinker anyhow, so this did not surprise me.  After adding my favorite creamer, it was perfect!  I received a six pack: Gourmet Roast, Decaf, Original Roast, 100% Colombian, Vanilla and Hazelnut.  Since I was afraid that if I went back to sleep I would not wake up I figured it was a perfect time to try them all.  Once I finished the gourmet roast, I moved on to the vanilla and hazelnut which I loved!  Since I usually drink french vanilla creamer in my coffee this is a great compromise.

I amusually not an instant coffee drinker since I have a handy dandy automatic "set it and forget it" coffee pot.  But, I could see myself keeping these on hand for emergencies or if you're in the mood for some variety, you can always brew yourself some hot water in your coffee pot and have up to six great coffee tastes in the same morning. The great thing about Nescafe is that you can drink the coffee and still afford the gas it takes you to get back and forth to work, unlike other gourmet blends!  If you don't believe me, click over to the Nescafe website and calculate for yourself by using their Bottom Line Calculator.  You will be shocked to learn your annual savings on Nescafe versus your normal daily drinks.

*My Thoughts:  I like the idea of having variety in my coffee.  Sometimes the same thing can become monotonous.  These convenient stick packs could be great for someone with that on the go lifestyle like most of us lead in today's times.  All in all I think it's a great product and there are enough varieties in the flavors that everyone should be able to find one they like.

*Win It!: Three lucky readers will win a Nescafe mug and six stick packs of the Nescafe Taster’s Choice flavors, just as you see pictured from Nescafe. All you have to do to enter is visit the Nescafe website and take a look around. Come back here and leave me a comment letting me know your favorite website feature or coffee blend. It's that easy.   You must do this step in order to earn any extra entries listed below.  It is also important that you leave your e-mail address if it is not visible in your profile so that I can contact you should you be chosen as the winner. *Contest open to US Residents only due to shipping.
You know you want it!!!

If you are chosen as the winner, you must respond within 48 hours or you forfeit your prize and an alternate winner will be chosen. I will have to have your shipping address in order to get the prize to you.

SnackTAXI Review and Give Away

Thanks to the awesome folks over at Business2Blogger, CrAzY Working Mom has teamed up with snackTAXI for an awesome give away! If you are interested in doing product reviews and haven't signed up with Business2Blogger then you are missing out, my friend! There are lots of great opportunities to be had. It's a great new company that levels the playing field for all bloggers by putting you in direct contact with the companies in which you are chosen to do reviews! So, go sign up now and then follow them on facebook and twitter as well.

Now on to the featured product: SnackTAXI.

As a working mother of three we're always on the go. I'm constantly packing snacks, lunches, etc for someone in our household. During the week, my 1st grader and husband both require a lunch to be packed on most days. I usually bring a microwaveable dinner to the office with me, but on those rare occasions I want a sandwich, that's three lunches I have to pack. Usually the kids take goldfish, cookies, etc with them when we go on trips, church, and the likes during the week. Needless to say we go through A LOT of plastic bags. In our constant quest to become more environmental friendly, or "green" if you will snackTaxi seems to be the perfect solution! They are reuseable bags for snacks or sandwiches that are made of fabric. You would use them just as you would a plastic bag, only they are much safer for the environment and lighter on your pocketbook!

On the About page, Owner Kelly Dill explains how the company came about:
"I invented snackTAXIs way back in 2003 as a way to stem the tide of plastic ziplock bags that flowed from our house to the landfill when our 3 kids started school! We pack over 500 lunches every year, and had definitely fallen prey to the easy appeal of the ziplock bag.

snackTAXIs are easy too- really! They are made in our home-based workshop by talented (and fun!) local sewers- we are committed to keeping our business local, and will never outsource our labor."

SnackTAXIs are lined with coated nylon, and can be machine washed and dried, or simply wiped clean with a damp sponge. They come in a wide variety of colors and patterns. You can click here to see the many different patterns.

I was sent a snack sack as well as a sandwich sack (pictured left) for review.  Immediately my 7 year old daughter was excited to be able to have a unique product in her lunch.  I packed her sandwich in the sandwich bag and chips in the snack bag.  She came home telling me how everyone asked her if her mom made those for her.  I only wish I was that crafty!

This is an awesome product and I can't imagine why I'm just now hearing about it!  But, I am glad to know that it's out there and can assure you that I will be having to get more so that all three children have their own snackTAXI bags.  If you're interested in getting your own SnackTaxi bags, you can click the website to purchase OR enter to win a set right here!   Details below:

I will be giving away a sandwich bag, snack bag, napkin, and produce bag, a $25.80 value to a lucky CrAzY Working Mom reader.  All you have to do is hop over to the snackTaxi website, take a look around, come back and tell me your favorite design in a comment below.  One winner will be chosen randomly.  This contest will be open from  Wednesday, March 10 through Wednesday, March 24, 2010 (midnight CST).  Since I am responsible for shipping of the product, I must limit this contest to US Residents only.

As always, extra entries can be earned by doing any or all of the following:
