Cars 2 - Have You Seen It?

PhotobucketA lot of my Facebook friends have posted that they are going today to see CARS 2 (In Disney Digital 3D™ and IMAX® 3D).  We will probably go one day this week.  Every time my kids see a trailer or commercial for Cars 2 merchandise, they start asking when we are going to see it.  I was watching "After The Catch" on Discovery the other night and found out that Captain Sig from Deadliest Catch voices the character of a crab boat.

Star racecar Lightning McQueen (voice of Owen Wilson) and the incomparable tow truck Mater (voice of Larry the Cable Guy) take their friendship to exciting new places in “Cars 2” when they head overseas to compete in the first-ever World Grand Prix to determine the world’s fastest car. But the road to the championship is filled with plenty of potholes, detours and hilarious surprises when Mater gets caught up in an intriguing adventure of his own: international espionage. Mater finds himself torn between assisting Lightning McQueen in the high-profile race and towing the line in a top-secret mission orchestrated by master British super spy Finn McMissile (voice of Michael Caine) and the stunning rookie field spy Holley Shiftwell (voice of Emily Mortimer). Mater’s action-packed journey leads him on an explosive chase through the streets of Japan and Europe, trailed by his friends and watched by the whole world. The fast-paced fun includes a colorful new all-car cast, complete with menacing villains and international racing competitors.

Here is a clip from V12 TV to keep you entertained until you can go see the movie!

So, have you seen it yet? Do you have plans to see it in 3D or will you wait for the DVD? Look for our review later on the movie! We can't wait to see it!!!

Hey Disney Fans!

It's a great day to be a Disney fan!  Available today on Disney DVD + Digital Copy - Lemonade Mouth Extended Edition and DVD/Blu-ray - Gnomeo and Juliet!!

PhotobucketI have a daughter who is 8 and she was super excited when Lemonade Mouth premiered on Disney.  Bridgit Mendler is one of Shelby's favorite Disney stars.  She loves Good Luck Charlie.  I was excited to see Tisha Campbell-Martin.  I used to love her on "Martin".  Lemonade Mouth:  Extended Edition includes an extended performance of "Livin' on a High Wire" and an exciting "Rock Along" version of the movie that allows fans to sing along with lyrics to all the songs by following the lyrics on screen!  Of course the DVD features the 10 original songs from the No1 soundtrack!  I will admit that we have a couple of the songs on the Ipod that we jam out to in the car!

Lemonade Mouth is a great movie and will relate to many kids who feel they don't have a "voice" in their school/society!  In a school where the Principle exclusively supports the athletic programs while the others are forced to meet and practice in the basement, a group of friends decide to take the school by storm.  Not only are friendships formed, but a band is formed as well and the rest is history.

Lemonade Mouth - Extended Edition hits shelves today!!

PhotobucketGnomeo and Juliet is a hillarious twist on Shakespeare's legendary tale of Romeo and Juliet as you've never seen it before!  It's perfect for the whole family, in fact choosing sides (Red or Blue) is a fun way to watch!  From the director of Shrek 2, this out of the ordinary comedy releases on Blu-Ray, Blu-Ray 3D, DVD, Movie Download, and On-Demand today!

The DVD is packed with never before seen bonus features including "Elton Builds A Garden", "Frog Talk with Ashley Jensen", Crockidile Rock Music Video featuring Elton John and Nelly Furtado" to name a few.  The movie is packed with star studded voices including Ozzy Osbourne, Patrick Stewart, Dolly Parton, Jason Statham, Michael Cane, Emily Blunt, and James McAvoy.

The Blu-Ray is packed with Bonus features including 2 alternate endings with filmmaker instructions, Deleted & Alternate Scenes with Filmmaker Instructions including alternate opening, scenes, and deleted scenes.

If you have not seen this movie, get out from under your rock and go get this DVD or Blu-Ray!  It is a hilarious film about feuding gnomes.  Two young gnomes fall in love under torrential circumstances.  The Reds and The Blues are bitter enemies and Gnomeo and Juliet have to overcome obstacles to make their love work.  With lawnmower races, pink flamingos, and Ozzy Osbourne voicing a deer...surely I've piqued your curiosity about the movie!

It is available TODAY, so go grab your copy.

* I received a review copy of this DVD in exchange for my opinion of the movie. No other form of compensation has been received and the opinions stated above are my own. To read my full disclosure policy, please click here.

Disney's New Releases

Since we got a little bit of snow and ice yesterday, I am so glad we had some new Disney Movies to keep the kids occupied. On Tuesday, Minnie lovers everywhere, (or at least one little girl in the Black household) were very pleased upon the arrival of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse: Minnie's Masquerade (with Mickey Mote). If you're not familiar with the Mickey Mote, it's the greatest thing since sliced bread! It's a Mickey shaped, child friendly remote control! By choosing the Discovery mode in the movie's menu screen your child, after a quick and easy set up for the Mickey Mote (it's easy, I promise!!) will be responding to questions throughout the movie about scenes they just watched by pressing one of the four color-coded buttons on the device: a yellow star, green circle, orange triangle or blue square. Discovery mode features two levels of play to grow with your child. The Mickey Mote can be used with any Disney Preschool DVD that includes the Discovery Mode feature. To date there are more than 11 titles that can be used with the remote control, just take a look at the back of the package to make sure.

PhotobucketMy little Emily is a HUGE Mickey Mouse fan, but especially loves Minnie Mouse. So, when we receive a copy of Minnie's Masquerade for review, she was happy that SHE got a video to watch. She was especially excited to find that this DVD features four playful Minnie-themed adventures previously seen on the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse TV show, a never-before-seen episode, and a free paper mask with festive embellishments that kids can personalize. Of course my princess enjoyed watching Minnie with her very own masquerade mask. In this episode Minnie needs some help getting everything ready for her party including making royal crowns for their costumes, searching for Sir Goofalot’s lost shoe, stringing up paper lanterns and much, much more. At the ball, Professor Von Drake hosts the great Clubhouse Costume Show and gives out prize ribbons to all the friends who have dressed up in some funny and fancy costumes.

If you have a pre-schooler, or even a pre-schooler and a couple of Elementary schoolers, this one is a must have for your collection! With the addition of the Mickey-Mote and the customizeable mask, it will be an enjoyable day for all.

As a way of saying Thank You to the loyal readers of CrAzY Working Mom, here is the link to a printable $5 off coupon toward your purchase of this title! But hurry, offer expires on February 14, 2011.

PhotobucketAlso available this week from Disney, The Beverly Hills Chihuahua 2 Blu-ray™ Combo Pack! In this action packed sequel Papi and Chloe return to the big screen with a bang. They tie the knot and have a litter of puppies, thus making their family and adventures much bigger. Although the cast changed a bit from the first movie, George Lopez is still the voice of Papi and as he is tossed into the role of fatherhood, he learns that sometimes being a parent is much harder than just being a "grown up". This movie is a great tale of family sticking together and proving that no matter who you are or how big you are, you can be a hero!

This DVD is packed with bonus features including a sneak peak at Sharpay's Fabulous Adventure (EEEEK!!!), The Music Video to “This is My Paradise” By Bridgit Mendler, and Blooper Faux Paws (my personal favorite!). I am a sucker for Bloopers, so I thought I'd share some with you here.

If you're looking to purchase this title, a $10 off coupon is available for the Blu-Ray/DVD Combo pack by clicking this graphic:

Don't wait, though because this offer is good through February 8, 2011.

Toy Story 3 on DVD

PhotobucketIn case you've been living under a rock and didn't realize it yet, I thought I'd let you in on a little secret. The final installment of the Toy Story Trilogy has made it to Disney DVD/Blue Ray just in time for you to begin your holiday shopping. What, you haven't even thought about your holiday shopping yet? Well, never fear you're not alone. But, you know that Disney DVDs are always a great idea for anyone on your list. I took the kids to see Toy Story 3 when it debuted in theaters in Disney Digital 3D. It was an awesome movie and we loved it. You can read my review here.

If you've not seen this one, really you are missing out on the best of the Toy Story movies, in my opinion. Even though I have not had a kid grow up and go to college, I know I will and it was a hard movie for me to watch. I DID cry as Andy packed up his toys to move away to college. The end sealed the deal for me too...I won't spoil it for those of you who have yet to see it. But, seriously go out and pick up a copy next time you stumble into Wal-Mart for some milk and end up spending half your day and most of your paycheck in there!

In the mean time you can watch this clip from the Bonus Features:

Did you know that Dancing With The Stars' Tony Dovolani & Cheryl Burke choreographed the "Latin Buzz" dance scene? This clip explains!

With the Blu-Ray Combo pack, a Blu-ray Disc plus a DVD and a Digital Copy of the movie in a single package, you can enjoy the movie in three different formats! This is by far the best value offered. It is also packed with Bonus features including The Day and Night Short (we LOVED this one), Buzz Lightyear Mission logs, Toy Story Trivia Dasn (a cool game that challenges you to sprint to the finish with Woody, Buzz, Jessie and Rex as you quickly answer questions about all three Toy Story movies) and much, MUCH more.

If you've not entered the contest to win the latest Disney Merchandise from Tangled, you can DO SO HERE!!!

* I received a review copy of this DVD in exchange for my opinion of the movie. No other form of compensation has been received and the opinions stated above are my own. To read my full disclosure policy, please click here.

Swim the Ocean with Disneynature

Photobucket
Disney has taken us previously taken us under the sea with Ariel and Nemo, but Disneynature presents Oceans as a Disney Blu-ray Combo Pack (Blu- ray + DVD) as you've never seen the sea before! This film puts you right in the action as whales and dolphins leap through the air, sea lions and sea turtles bask on the beach, and coral reef comes to life. This is not your 5th grade Science class under water doccumentary. The film makers captured mesmerizing footage using the most technologically-advanced equipment that has allowed them to bring this to true high-definition powers! Oh, and in case I haven't reeled you in yet, I'll tell ya that Pierce Brosnan is the ever so captivating narrator.

We sat down and put this movie in and I was fully prepared for a nap, but once the movie started I quickly realized that myself nor my children would be napping. Instead we popped some popcorn and watched the movie in it's entirety. Hubby came in at the end of the movie and got interested in it, so we started it over and watched it again. The kids LOVED it and so did we! It is a great movie and a wonderful way to teach our children why we have to protect our wild life! The DVD had the "Make A Wave" Disney's Friends For Change Music Video Featuring Joe Jonas and Demi Lovato!

This DVD is available now from Disneynature DVD. For more information on this title or other Disneynature or Disney titles, you can click the box art above. To see the Oceans Trailer, click below.

Beauty & The Beast The Diamond Edition

Photobucket
One of my favorite Disney Classics is Beauty and the Beast.  Unavailable in any form since 2003, Beauty and the Beast will be released from the Disney vault for a limited time only, arriving on a Blu-ray + DVD Combo Pack (2 Blu-ray Discs + DVD) October 5  Today, Disney is opening the vault and it will be available for purchase on Blu-ray + DVD Combo Pack! Beauty and The Beast is the first of only two animated films ever to be nominated for an Academy Award® for Best Picture (in case you were wondering, the second is 2009’s Up), Beauty and the Beast earned six Academy Award® nominations and won two Oscars® in 1992 for Best Original Song (“Beauty and the Beast”) and Best Original Score.

Beauty and The Beast is Disney’s most requested film and my all time favorite! The Blu-ray transformation
reveals the magic, music and majesty of the film as never before experienced with state-of-the-art picture restoration, pristine 7.1 Digital Surround Sound and hours of additional viewing experiences that includes behind the scenes features, deleted scenes, enhanced music tracks, immersive games and more.

When we received this DVD for review, I was excited to watch it and my kids informed me that they'd never seen it!  I was floored when I realized that I had deprived my children from the experience of seeing this Disney film, which just so happens to be one of my favorites!!!  We have it on VHS, and I guess we just never watch those old VHS tapes anymore.  The kids never even open up that cabinet when choosing a movie.  This movie did not disappoint, as each and every member of my family enjoyed watching.  Beauty and The Beast is a timeless classic that will live on for generations.  I am so glad that Disney has released it from the vault and I hope that if there are other families out there that do not own this on DVD will upgrade to the Diamond Version of Beauty and The Beast and add it to your collection!

Tinker Bell and The Great Fairy Rescue

Photobucket
Did you know that Tinker Bell was honored with a Star on Hollwood's Walk of Fame on Tuesday, September 21, 2010? Tinker Bell’s twinkling star ceremony coincided with the debut of Disney Fairies’ latest feature film (from Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment), “Tinker Bell and the Great Fairy Rescue”. The Hollywood Walk of Fame is an internationally-recognized Hollywood icon. With about 24 induction ceremonies annually broadcast around the world, the constant reinforcement provided to the public has made the Walk of Fame a top visitor attraction. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce continues to administer the Walk as the representative of the City of Los Angeles. The Walk is a tribute to all of those who worked so hard to develop the concept and to maintain this world-class tourist attraction.

PhotobucketBefore Tink met Peter Pan and the lost boys, she met Lizzie - a girl who believed in fairies with all of her heart. Their two worlds collide and Tink risks her own safety and the safety of her fairy friends as the Fairies set out on an adventure to London to save one of their own! Lizzy is quite the character and reminded me so much of myself when I was a kid, especially her little "Scientific Fairy Research Journal". I have two girls (age 8 and 2). They LOVE Tinker Bell. Even my 5 year old son loves the Tinker Bell movies. He probably wouldn't want to announce that on the school playground, but really he does!

I enjoy the fact that Tinker Bell is no longer just Peter Pan's little non-talking Fairy friend but, along with her Fairy Friends she is one of Disney's most successful franchises! Tinkerbell and the Great Fairy Rescue is available now on Disney's Blu-ray + DVD Combo Pack. By clicking here, you can print a coupon to save $10 off your Combo Pack! Just a little "thank you" gift for my readers and Disney Fans.

Coming to Theaters - The Secretariat

Photobucket
Saw the trailer for this one and I must say I am super excited about seeing it!

Based on the remarkable true story, “Secretariat” chronicles the spectacular journey of the 1973 Triple Crown winner.  Housewife and mother Penny Chenery (Diane Lane) agrees to take over her ailing father’s Virginia-based Meadow Stables, despite her lack of horse-racing knowledge.  Against all odds, Chenery—with the help of veteran trainer Lucien Laurin (John Malkovich)—manages to navigate the male-dominated business, ultimately fostering the first Triple Crown winner in 25 years and what may be the greatest racehorse of all time.
Notes:
  • In 1973, Secretariat became the first U.S. Triple Crown champion in 25 years, setting race records that still stand today in the Kentucky Derby and the Belmont Stakes.
  • Penny Chenery, now 87, is an integral resource in the making of the film.  She also appears as an extra in one of the film’s scenes.
  • In 1973, Secretariat graced the covers of three magazines the same week:  Time, Newsweek and Sports Illustrated
  • Director Randall Wallace, whose directorial credits include “We Were Soldiers,” is the Oscar®- and Golden Globe®-nominated screenwriter of “Braveheart.”
  • In 1999, the U.S. Postal Service unveiled a 33-cent postage stamp with Secretariat’s image.

The Last Song on DVD and Blu-Ray

PhotobucketAvailable today on Blu-ray™ Hi-Def Combo Pack and DVD from Touchstone Home
Entertainment: The Last Song starring Disney's very own Miley Cyrus, A/K/A Hannah Montana and Greg Kinnear (Oscar®
nominee, Best Actor in a Supporting Role, As Good As It Gets, 1997, Little Miss Sunshine, You've Got Mail). If you're raising a teenage daughter, knows someone who is raising a teenage daughter, or face raising a teenage daughter in your future I would highly recommend this one! It is an emotional roller coaster. As the movie begins, Miley's character Ronnie is a complete and total spoiled brat who back talks her father and is mean to just about every single person she comes across. She's harsh and rude. As events unfold in the movie we learn why she has hardened her heart just as it begins to soften up. It is a great "coming of age" movie, to be very cliche. It will probably make you cry...well, it made ME cry. It is an awesome movie. I have not read the book, so before you ask me how different it was, I cannot say. The screen play was written by best selling novelist and screen writer Nicolas Sparks who also wrote The Notebook!

Bonus Features for The Last Song:

• Set Tour with Bobby Coleman – Audiences will have an all access pass to see how a
film is made through the eyes of the new up-and comer and star of The Last Song,
Bobby Coleman. This rambunctious eight-year old will bring his fans along as he
does everything from interview Adam Shankman and Miley’s security team, to
going on a seashell scavenger hunt.

• Making of the Music Video, “When I Look At You” with Miley Cyrus – Go behind-
the-scenes of the music video, “When I Look At You”. It will feature recording studio
footage, b-roll from the set, interviews with Miley and crew, clips from the film and music
video. Audiences will learn how the film’s motif, southern summer romance, is
incorporated into feel and theme of the music video.
• Miley Cyrus Music Video: “When I Look At You”

Blu-Ray Exclusive
• Alternate Opening Sequence: The Church Fire (With optional commentary by
director)
• Deleted Scenes (With optional commentary by director)
o Ronnie At The Piano
o Steve & Ronnie At The Beach
o Hospital Montage
o Vegan Cookies
o Juggling On The Pier
• Audio Commentary– with Director Julie Anne Robinson and Co-Producer Jennifer
Gibgot.

This titles hit the shelves today, so go grab some popcorn and junior mints (Hey, don't knock it 'till you try it!) and don't forget the tissue. Enjoy!

Disney's Newest and Upcoming Releases

Photobucket
My family and I are fans of Disney. In fact, I'm not sure our television remote would even change the channel from Disney if we tried! Sometimes on the rare occasion that the kiddos are gone and hubby and I are sitting around the house we find ourselves watching Sonny with a Chance, Handy Manny, or Mickey Mouse!

PhotobucketOver the weekend I took the kids to see Disney/Pixar's latest masterpiece, Toy Story 3. I must admit that it was my favorite of the "trilogy" thus far! I really enjoyed the mixture of comedy, drama, and action. There were lots of new characters introduced and the story line was very intriguing and I found myself wrapped up in the unfolding drama wondering what was going to happen with the "Toys" as Andy was off to college! Of course I got teary eyed. I don't think there's a Disney movie that I haven't cried over at one point in my life. I admit that I am a true sap! Anyhow, if you've not seen this one yet, add it to the list. The 3D effect was nothing awe inspiring to me. I could have watched it without spending the extra money but to see Buzz, Woddy, Jesse, and the gang in all of their wide screened glory was pretty cool. Oh, and the trailers were awesome in 3-D as well as the Pixar "short" that preceded the movie, Day and Night:

Here are a couple of the trailers from the movie:

The Sorcerer's Apprentice:

I'm excited about this one as I am a huge fan of Nick Cage. Seeing this trailer in 3D was pretty darned cool!!!

TANGLED:
When I saw this trailer I immediately knew it was the story of Rapunzel! How fun. I can't wait to see this one. It looks like a blast!

Starstruck on DVD from Disney

PhotobucketWe have waited with great anticipation the release of Disney's newest full length feature, Starstruck starring none other than "Chad Dillon Cooper" a/k/a Sterling Knight from Sonny With A Chance. This is one of my daughter's favorite television shows!  We watched Starstruck when it originally aired on Disney and thankfully we DVRed it so we could watch it over and over.

"StarStruck, a music and adventure-filled romp that hits all the right notes for kids and tweens, tells the story of Jessica Olson (Danielle Campbell, Prison Break) and her older sister Sara (Maggie Castle, Time Traveler’s Wife), who are heading to Hollywood from Kalamazoo, Michigan, on a family trip to visit their grandmother. Sara is obsessed with pop star Christopher Wilde (Sterling Knight, Sonny with a Chance) and hopes to track him down while in California, but Jessica could care less about the stuck-up star and would rather go sightseeing. When the sisters arrive in L.A. Sara takes Jessica on a hunt to find Christopher and a chance meeting with the star sets off a series of comic adventures that feature many of L.A.’s landmark locations. As the sisters sight see and spend time together, Jessica gets to know the real Christopher and soon their friendship grows. Ultimately Christopher must decide what is more important -- being himself or becoming a movie star. Disney Channel stars Brandon Mychal Smith (Sonny With a Chance) and Chelsea Staub (JONAS) also star as Christopher’s loyal best friend and fame hungry girlfriend, respectively."
Today, this Disney Channel Hit Movie is available two ways: as a single DVD or a 2 disc set that includes the DVD+ Full Length Soundtrack CD. Each exciting release contains a never-before-seen exclusive extended scene and additional music with eight Rock-Along tracks and three music videos. The 2 disc set includes the DVD, plus the Walt Disney Records CD soundtrack with chart-climbing songs performed by stars Sterling Knight and Brandon Mychal Smith (“Sonny With A Chance”) among others.  For more information, you can click the movie box art above.  For more Disney Movies, you can click here to visit Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment (WDSHE).

If you haven't picked up Disney's Alice in Wonderland,

Miley Can't Be Tamed and Should Be Ashamed!!

PhotobucketMy 7 year old daughter has been a Disney fan all of her life.  It comes to her honest.  Before she was even a twinkle in my eye, I collected Disney VHS tapes.  There was something about the magic of Disney that always enchanted me.  Shelby has grown with Disney, from Mickey Mouse and Winnie The Pooh to The Suite Life, Sonny With A Chance, and Hannah Montana.  What I've always enjoyed about Disney is that I could turn it on and not have to worry about monitoring what my children were being exposed to.  The messages were positive and I've been known to enjoy watching the shows myself.  When we learned that Hannah Montana was going to be a thing of the past, it was disappointing, but truthfully not a surprise to me.  Miley can only be a "girl" for so long.

Photobucket

I was, however shocked to see her break out video for her new song, "Can't Be Tamed".  I will not post a link to it here because it is completely and totally against anything I EVER want my children to see.  It is disgusting and immoral.  I cannot believe that her father would let such a travesty ever be produced.  She is still under age (17!!).

Photobucket
It is sad to see one of Disney's brightest and most talented young stars go from being Hannah Montana, to a freakishly large bird in a cage (doing things that no young lady should be doing) who "Can't Be Tamed".

As for me and my house...we will NOT support the new Miley.  Next time she comes to town, there will for sure be two empty seats that could have otherwise been filled by my daughter and I.  But, then again who wants to watch a 17 year old girl pole dance anyhow?!

Disney on Ice, Our Rink Side Experience

Disney on Ice
Thanks to Feld Entertainment, my family and I attended an awesome event on Saturday, Disney on Ice, Let's Celebrate!  I am happy to report that a wonderful time was had by our entire family!  We were seated at rink side and the kids couldn't have been more excited when they realized that we were sitting right near the action!

The show began as Mickey and Minnie celebrated a very Merry un- birthday with Alice, the Mad Hatter and gang.  Pinocchio, Gipeto, and The Fairy God Mother also teach a very important lesson about telling the truth when the celebration begins.  What we loved about this segment of the show was the chase for the mad hatter's hat.  Mickey grabs it and it becomes a fun chase between Mickey and his friends pitted against the hatter and his friends.  At one point in the show, the chase was in slow motion which was very comical to watch and performed with great execution!   Once the Mad Hatter had secured his hat, Goofy found a special hat and coat that looked quite familiar once Mickey dawned it!  He then proceeded to try to make his broom move by casting some spells.  Fortunately for us he enchanted a whole bunch of brooms who put on quite an interesting show with some pretty spectacular costumes.
Disney on Ice
Halloween is a favorite holiday around our house.  With ghosts, goblins, and candy how can you go wrong?!  Mickey celebrated Halloween with the Disney Villains.  This performance was fun and ghostly, but not too scary for the little ones.  Villains included Cruella Deville, Hook, Maleficent (the witch from Sleeping Beauty), as well as the witch from Snow White who brought a bright red shiny apple for Mickey. Luckily he had his trusty friends (the children in the audience) to advise him against eating the apple that all of the villains tried to bully him into eating.

Next up, Minnie wishes that she can become a princess and meet her prince and have the perfect Valentine.  What's a princess wish without a Fairy God Mother?  She made all of Cinderella's dreams come true, so surely she could do the same for Minnie, right?  This was the favorite segment of the show for both Shelby (my 7 year old daughter) and myself.  In this point in this show, we were introduced to each of Disney's princesses and their princes including:  Cinderella, Ariel, Mulan, Belle, and the newest princess, Tiana.  This was the most technical portion of the show with lots of flips, spins, and so much princess grace!   In the end, the princesses show Minnie how to be a princess herself and she is greeted by her prince, Mickey.  They join the Royal Ball where the princes all gave the princesses a rose.  Fortunately we were seated near Mulan who in turn gave her rose to Shelby!!!  It was such a special moment in the show and she was so excited to receive a rose from a true princess.

After the Royal Ball, we joined Lilo and Stitch for a Hawaiian Luau where the show got HOT, literally!  Goofy did some ice surfing which the kids and I enjoyed.  There was also, of course Limbo and some more spectacular skating and fun.  This was one of Tyler (my 4 year old son's) favorite parts of the show with the ring of fire on the ice!  He is also a huge Lilo and Stitch fan.

After the Luau, we were transformed into a winter wonderland, complete with snow (which is NOT good if you're trying to eat nachos!). Mickey and friends were joined by Buzz, Woody, and Jesse and the gang from Toy Story! Since my son Tyler is such a huge fan of all things cowboy, he was anxiously awaiting the arrival of Woody and Jesse. He loved this part of the show. A Christmas celebration in April! What could be better?!  I loved the holiday sweaters that the cast was wearing in this segment.

Of course you can't have a party without a little bit of Southern fun.  We celebrated Mardi Gras with Princess Tiana and the cast of Disney's The Princess and The Frog.  Minnie was so charming in her cute dress and her Mardi Gras mask, don't you think?

All in all this performance was a home run. We enjoyed the show. Of course when you go to any event of this magnitude, you'd better bring the pocketbook full of money, because the event souvenirs are not cheap. By the time you buy a program, have the kids' photos made with Mickey, get cotton candy, cokes, popcorn, and pay for parking you'll find yourself spending a pretty penny. But, these sort of events only come around a couple of times a year so it's well worth it!

I'd like to say a special thanks to Feld Entertainment who provided tickets for the entire family in order for me to be able to give an honest opinion of their show.  We have been given no other form or compensation and the opinions stated above are my true opinion.  Any claims made by the companies mentioned above should be validated by the companies themselves.  To read my full disclosure policy, you can click here.

The Princess and The Frog Give Away - Sticky Post

Shelby and I had plans to go see Disney's The Princess and The Frog on the big screen, but we never made it. We were excited to learn of it's March 16th release to on Blu-ray™ Combo Pack and DVD. You see, we read a story each night at bedtime. I like to buy Shelby chapter books and we read one or two chapters each night. We read this story and we both fell in love with it.  It's the story of Tiana, a beautiful hard working young woman who dreams of owning her own restaurant some day.  She has no idea how far that dream will take her.  But, with the help of friends and the courage to overcome the greatest of odds, Tiana learns what she really needs to make her dreams become a reality.

It is a wonderful story about following your dreams.  Shelby and I love Disney's newest princess.  Tiana is a great role model for all young girls as she never gives up on her dream of owning a restaurant, even when it looks like all hope is gone.  Of course all of Disney's movies include wonderful messages, I felt like this one sends a message that most anyone, young and old can connect with!

The single disk DVD comes with: deleted Scenes, audio commentary by John Musker and Ron Clements (co-writers and directors) and Peter Del Vecho (producer), “Never Knew I Needed” a Music video by Ne-Yo, as well as What Do You See: Princess Portraits — A bayou-style quiz tests viewers’ knowledge of all of Disney’s beautiful princesses. Ray’s firefly family creates twinkling portraits of each princess and if the player correctly identifies her, they can enjoy a tongue-cheek mini re-telling of that character’s story.

The Blue Ray Combo Pack comes with additional bonus features including:

• Backstage Disney Magic In The Bayou: The Making of A Princess — Co-writers and directors John Musker and Ron Clements take a freewheeling, behind-the-scenes look at the making of Disney’s newest animated film.
• The Return To Hand Drawn Animation
• The Disney Legacy
• Disney’s Newest Princess
• The Princess and the Animator
• Conjuring The Villain
• A Return To The Animated Musical
• Bringing Life to Animation with an introduction by John Musker and Ron Clements.
• Deleted Scenes introduced by the filmmakers
• Art Galleries — A collection of storyboard art traces the visual development of The Princess and the Frog’s rich gallery of characters and settings

Today's DVD releases:

Disney's The Princess and The Frog- Disney’s newest princess, Tiana, joins ranks with Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Belle, Ariel, Pocahontas, Jasmine and Mulan. The Princess and the Frog is Disney’s first princess film since Mulan, which was released in June 1998.

You can read my full review and the DVD and BluRay extras in the previous contest post.  If you'd like a chance to win a copy of this DVD, click here.  The contest ends Friday!

Not to be outshined by a mere Princess, Caillou - Caillou Pretends to be is also available today on DVD from PBS.   Jam packed into this DVD are 14 episodes of the popular PBS for Kids Television show featuring the ever imaginative Caillou who pretends to be everything from a Police Officer to a builder.  This show definitely inspires imagination which I love.  The DVD includes extras such as “Caillou’s Music Videos,” interactive games, character bios, parents’ information and coloring pages.

My younger kids love PBS and enjoyed this DVD, I think my oldest was probably off somewhere fixing her hair or changing her clothes for the fifteenth time.  If you have younger children, this is a great video to keep around for those times when you need to get some chores done or take with you on vacation to pop in the DVD player as you travel as it's run time is approximately 100 minutes.
