Saturday Photo Hunt

My 86th
This Week's Theme: Book(s)

There is a book in this photo. It is perhaps one of the most important books that a mother can read. It is a "baby name" book! I was packed and ready to go to the hospital in preparation for the induction of my third child. I had everything that I could possibly need while I was there, a baby sitter for the other two children, and Mo on standby to post a picture here when our sweet baby girl arrived. The only thing that my husband and I had not agreed on at this moment was a name for said baby. I wanted to name her Emma Grace. He was not sold on that one. On the way to the hospital we discussed it. It was not the first time this had happened. HE was undecided with all three until after they arrived. In the end, the name I chose was the winner with the other two. As for the sweet baby girl, for those of you who don't know her name was decided: Emily Grace.

Saturday Photo Hunt - Plastic

My 85th
This Week's Theme: Plastic
The beautifully colorful hummingbirds flock to these plastic flowers with pizazz! What I love most about this photo is that the little wings are flapping so fast that the camera could not capture them. I love trying to capture them on film. They have been scarce lately, I suppose due to the rain. The feeder is full and ready for them when they get thirsty again.

Just a friendly reminder that this is the last week of the Douglas Plush Giveaway! All you have to do is go to this post and leave a comment. A winner will be chosen randomly! It's that simple. Don't miss your chance. Do it now.

Saturday Photo Hunt - In Memory

My 85th
This Week's Theme: In Memory

My little big girl has one week left of Kindergarten. She is excited to be out for summer, but something tells me that after a week or so she's going to miss all of her friends and be really tired of hanging out with me all day at the family business. We'll see. She has grown so much over the last year that it is unbelievable. I have watched her personality transform so much that it is simply amazing! My baby girl is growing up so fast. They tend to outgrow us before we outgrow them don't they? I might need a memory upgrade with all of the photos of my ever changing children on this laptop! But, I love every minute memory of it!

Don't forget about the Douglas Plush contest, see one post down to enter!

We're off to see Disney on Ice.  The kids are guarding their tickets with the utmost protection!  We're all super excited.  Hopefully I'll get to meet up with a fellow blogger...more details to come later if I do.  I've already warned her that I'll have to get a picture!

Saturday Photo Hunt - Purple

My 84th
This Week's Theme: Purple
This is my little Emily. She is 7.5 months old. Time sure flies. The quilt that she is laying on was made with love by hubby's grandmother before she passed away. My mother-in-law found them years after her passing with the grand kid's names stitched on them so hubby received his as a Christmas gift from his grandmother after her passing. It is very colorful, as you can tell. Emily loves it. I only wish that her great-grandma was able to see her enjoy it!

Photo Contest at writefromkaren.com
This photo was taken last Sunday and it is one of my favorites from the day. This is my niece, Haven who is celebrating her fourth birthday today. I think that it represents our Spring so well. The rain drops are falling around her head, but not breaking her spirit. In fact the entire time she was in search of eggs, she had her tongue stuck out catching rain drops. We hid and hunted Easter eggs in the rain. The kiddos declared this Easter "The Best" Easter ever. To see more photos from our rainy Easter, you can click the picture of the birthday girl. Saturday Photo Hunt - Stripes

My 83rd
This Week's Theme: Stripes

I don't post many photos of myself, mostly because I am usually the one behind the camera so there aren't many in existence. But, since this week's theme is stripes, and I'm wearing my favorite striped shirt I thought this was a perfect opportunity to post it. Shelby took this photo when we went to The Wonder Place two weekends ago. Shelby (my 6 year old daughter) was playing dress up and she placed this lovely hat on my head because it matched my shirt. Then of course she had to document the moment with a photo.
To view more striped photos, click the graphic above to get to TN Chick's site. Have a great Saturday, everyone.

Saturday Photo Hunt - Hands

My 82nd
This Week's Theme: Hands

Although this isn't the best quality photo, I love it. I had been shooting candid shots of "nekked" Emily and she decided that she was ready to turn the tables on me. She grabbed the strap of my camera and tugged it. She was ready to get her hands on this wonderful piece of gadgetry! I think I have a budding photographer on my hands!

Saturday Photo Hunt & Camera Critters

My 81st
This Week's Theme: Furry
To visit more Camera Critters, click here.

Since this week's Saturday Photo Hunter's Theme is Furry, I thought I could just combine two posts in one. In this photo is our Dachshund, or "wiener dog" as we like to call him is taking a nap on the couch. His fur is short, but he has a lot of it. When choosing an indoor animal, I thought a short haired dog was a good choice because of less shedding however Oscar has proved me wrong. His black fur ends up everywhere!!!

Saturday Photo Hunt - Reflections

My 78th
This Week's Theme: Reflections

Tyler had the "mixing bowl" in which we had made brownies. He had quite a time diving in with both hands and licking the chocolaty goodness from his fingers. I'm not too sure he didn't stick his whole head in and lick the bowl. When he was finished, he had chocolate remnants on his face. He had to go take a look for himself. I captured him checking out his reflection in the mirror. Since I had posted this photo earlier in the week for my Creative Photography entry I thought I'd re-post it here. You can see Shelby's reflection in this photo taken at the Baltimore Aquarium last October. Rest assured that she was NOT swimming with a tiger shark and a sting ray.

Saturday Photo Hunt - Ruined

My 77th

This Week's Theme: Ruin(ed)

This is Oscar, our wiener dog. He had his manhood removed earlier this week and he has handled it pretty well. When Shelby and I went shopping today, we decided to get him some special treats since he's been such a trooper. The sweater is adorable on him and he was not at all bothered by it. He seems to actually enjoy it. The rawhide that he is licking on in the photo was ruined very quickly due to the fact that it was filled with some sort of beefy substance. He seemed to have liked them both, the beefy substance as well as the rawhide. I think that we might have ruined him by putting this sweater on him. Now he really thinks he's cool. What do you think?

This Week's Theme: Family

I filled up yesterday and was so excited to see the gas prices when I did so. I had to take a picture for proof. See the beautiful blue sky in the background. I was NOT blue when I left because I have not filled up my truck for less than $50 in a long time!!!

Saturday Photo Hunt - Sad

My 72nd

This Week's Theme: Sad
This photo was taken right after I had Emily. Shelby was sad for two reasons. The first reason was because she walked in and saw me laying in a bed with an IV, and lots of other strange cords and needles protruding from my body. She would not come near me for a while. When she did she loved her baby sister and she was sad all over again when she was told that she could not bring her baby sister home with her that day. She was even more sad when she realized that she had to spend the night with Grandma and Grandpa. It's rare to capture Shelby in a photo without her beautiful smile. I am glad that I don't have too many photos like this one!

Saturday Photo Hunt - Road

My 70th
This Week's Theme: Road

This ring symbolizes the road that my husband have traveled together as man and wife for the last ten years. It was my anniversary gift yesterday. I think it is beautiful. We've had a wonderful past, a spectacular present and our future looks bright. This road of life that we travel will always be full of bumps, curves, and wrong turns and not just like it reads in the textbooks but as long as we've got each other we can always make it through!
