Camera Critters
Yesterday, the kids and I attended a birthday party. We had a great time. My sister and her husband actually hosted a sleep over for a total of 11 children complete with weenie and marshmallow roast. Three girls 8 boys ranging in ages from 4 to 11. They are brave souls but the kids had a wonderful time. They have not stopped talking about it. By today they might be looking for orlando vacation homes to find their sanity. Luckily my sister and her husband recently built a large log home so the kids had lots of room to play and have fun. They also have plenty of room out doors for the many animals they house such as ponies, cows, chickens, rabbits, and this turkey who has a rather serious anger issue. Apparently he doesn't like to be photographed because when I pulled out the camera he got his feathers in a ruffle and began to yell obscenities at me. Well, okay maybe he wasn't yelling obscenities, but he was making some awfully loud gobbling noises directed at me. Thankfully there was a fence between he and I. Next month when it comes time to carve up a turkey, I might be paying him another visit, that little bugger! My mother-in-law made the cake you see pictured. It is a three tiered waterfall cake complete with wild horses and even ducks swimming in the falls She is an amazing talent. She has had no formal training other than the many cakes she's made over the years for weddings and birthdays for family and close friends. We've tried to get her to branch out and go into business for herself, but she refuses. I am proud to have her around because she makes all of the cakes for my children's birthdays. She has full creative controll when it comes to the cakes. We pick out a theme and she just works her magic!

Camera Critters - Emily's New Friends
This goat decided that he wanted to take a bite out of Emily's sticker she'd gotten from the Sheriff at the County Fair. She was giving her new furry friend in the petting zoo the what for when I snapped this picture. Moments before she was smiling when they were licking her hand. She quickly realized that goats will eat anything!

Camera Critters
My kids each have one of these in their rooms. They have them in plastic snack baggies. They have two pieces of candy corn in the bag with the shell of a bug - just in case he gets hungry!

Camera Critters
This just so happens to be only two of my critters. Oscar the wiener dog had curled up in the chair with Shelby after they got out of bed this morning. They look awfully cozy don't they? I just wish there was enough room for me to join in. Happy Sunday everyone. To see other Camera Critters, click the badge above. To see my past Camera Critters entries, click here.

Camera Critters - Life in Arkansas
I shot this photo two weekends ago in Hector, Arkansas when we were on a four wheeler trip. This beautiful butterfly was going about it's business and I happened to have my Canon in hand and I was able to snap it . I was so thankful that we got to spend the weekend exploring the countryside. I love being outdoors and fortunately we live in a state that makes that possible because Arkansas has beautiful country. I love enjoying the wonders of nature in Arkansas! I wouldn't have it any other way!

Camera Critters - Beverly Hills Chihuahua
I cannot take credit for this image, this is Papi & Chloe from the new Disney DVD Beverly Hills Chihuahua. Whether or not you are a dog lover then this movie is a must see. These little guys are just too cute. Chloe is a pampered princess and gets dragged to Mexico by her owner's irresponsible niece who lets Chloe get lost. The film follows her misadventures trying to get home and the case of characters she meets along the way is full of non stop laughs! My kids watched this movie before I had the chance to sit down and enjoy it. I heard Shelby crying and went to check on her and she was so sad that Chloe had lost her family and the "big dog was being mean to her". Tyler got a kick out of the thieving Iguana and Rat. It's a great family movie. I've seen it several times now. Jamie Lee Curtis is brilliant (as always). Drew Barrymore and George Lopez voice Papi and Chloe. These are just a few of the big names that are attached to this film. To find out more about the film, you can visit the official BHC site here. To find out more about Camera Critters, you can click the badge at the top of this post. Here is the official trailer for the movie:

Camera Critters - "Streeeeeeetch"
I've spent the biggest part of the day sifting through baby clothes. I put away two big trash bags full of clothes that Emily can no longer wear (many of which she NEVER wore). I finally sat down to unwind a bit and visit some Camera Critters. Imagine my surprise when I realized that my post had only been saved to a draft and NOT set to auto publish. *sigh*

Saturday Photo Hunt & Camera Critters

Since this week's Saturday Photo Hunter's Theme is Furry, I thought I could just combine two posts in one. In this photo is our Dachshund, or "wiener dog" as we like to call him is taking a nap on the couch. His fur is short, but he has a lot of it. When choosing an indoor animal, I thought a short haired dog was a good choice because of less shedding however Oscar has proved me wrong. His black fur ends up everywhere!!!
