8 MORE Random Things About Me

I was tagged by the lovely Linda from Are We There Yet? for the Random Things About Me Meme. I was tagged back in May with the 10 things about me meme. So, I thought this time I'd change it up a bit. Here goes:

8 Random Things I Love To Do

1. Relax at the spa with a sixty minute full body massage followed by a pedicure and a nap.

2. Tan. Yes, I know it's bad for my skin, but I love to lay in the sun and just relax. In fact most of the time spent in my pool is on the lounger floating on top of the water. I love to just soak up the sun. I don't mind laying in a tanning bed either. It's nice to lay in a warm place where nobody can bother you for fifteen minutes.

3. Blog, e-mail, surf the net. Who would have thought?! But, I have really become obsessed with blogging. I have made so many new blogging friends, that I find myself overwhelmed at times trying to keep up with everyone. (Thank GOD for Google reader.) But, it is very fun!

4. Get kisses, hugs and lovies from my children.

5. Fish. I love to go fishing with my husband. Trout fishing is my favorite type of fishing. There's a beautiful place on the white river where we motor up and just float back down fishing away. It's a nice ride because the scenery is so beautiful. It's quite relaxing, fun and challenging.

6. Singing & Dancing I've mentioned before that I was once a female vocalist in a band. I toured the United States and I loved it. I was very young during this time. I was very much in love with my boyfriend and I realized that it was not going to be possible to have a relationship with him and follow my dream. I thought long and hard about this major life decision and realized that I would have to sacrifice my future with him to be fully devoted to this career. I was not willing to do so. I wanted to have a family, be a wife and a mommy. So, I quit the band and a few years later married that boyfriend who is now the father of my two beautiful children! I've never spent a day regretting that decision.

7. Mowing I love to mow the lawn. Well, I love to mow on the riding lawn mower. I am a bit anal about making sure that the lines are straight and that it looks just right, though.

8. Photograph I love to take pictures. My favorite subjects are of course my children. I have shelves full of photo albums because I have the most beautiful subjects in the world to photograph!

There ya go, Ms Linda. I hope I've done you proud! I know the rules state that I am supposed to tag some more people, but I really think it's time to put this one to bed. If there's some slight chance that there are any readers out there who have not done this meme and want to do so, please feel free to do so and leave me a comment.

Today is

my best friend in the whole WIDE world's 29th birthday. I thought for her birthday, I'd do a tribute to her...kinda like a Meme of sorts. So, here goes.
Things that you might not know about my friend, Becca
-She moved all the way from Arkansas where she'd been most of her life and where most of her family is to Maryland where she only knew a few people.
Since then she has made a host of friends, been involved in Jaycees, had some GREAT jobs and met lots of new people.
-When we were in elementary school, we'd play together at recess. I didn't have any gloves. We'd swing beside one another on the swing sets. She'd give me one of her -gloves and we'd each have a glove.
We'd swing as high as we could and sing the Kit Kat commercial...

"Gimmie a break, gimmie a break. Break me off a piece of that Kit Kat Bar"

-We'd also play tether ball A LOT. She was great because I don't think she really liked it, but I liked it a lot loved it. She'd play me and let me win I'd beat her most of the time.
-We called each other by code names when we'd pass notes in class in case the letter got confiscated by the teacher.
-One time a letter did get confiscated by a teacher. It was disastrous!
-I remember one time I had a death in my family. A very tragic death of a small cousin due to horrible abuse. It was a traumatic time for me. I remember laying on the bed one night just crying. Bec just laid down beside me and put her arm around me and laid with me 'till I fell asleep crying. Just knowing that she was there beside me helped get me through MANY tough times after that.
-I threw up one night before going into a haunted house with her 'cause I was so scared. We still went in!
-We used to play Lifestyles of the Poor and Unknown. We'd play like we were reporters etc and talk to one another as though we were interviewing each other and make recordings. It was loads of fun. We'd even try to have the accent.
-My mom calls her the "oldest" daughter eventhough I am a little over a month older than Bec. She always said Becca just acted like the oldest. WHATEVER MOM!!
-When Bec moved away in Junior high, we would record tapes and send to one another 'cause I didn't have a phone. We would just record letters onto the tapes and mail them back and forth to one another.
-Her mom owned a Mexican restaurant when we were kids. I LOVED to go there to work with Bec eat! It was GREAT food. I think that's why I have such a love today for Mexican food.
-We've been friends for 17 years. Yup, 17 years...WOW!
-I've known her longer than I've known most people in my life besides my family...even my husband!
-She knows lots of secrets about me, but she's my BEST friend and she'd never tell...so don't even try to bribe her, David!
-She's an awesome dancer!
-She's great with kids. They love her.
-She's got a beautiful smile. It lights up a room. She gets it from her mother.
-She's the greatest friend that a girl like me could ever ask for. I am not just saying that either, 'cause Christmas is over and she got me a great gift, so I don't have to kiss up anymore. : )

I love you, Bec and I hope you have a great party tonight. I totally wish I could be there. I hope you have a drink for me.

Happy Birthday Bec!!!

10 Things About Me

I was tagged by the lovely Empress Bee for this Meme.
I'm supposed to list 10 things you might not know about me.
Since I am pretty open about myself on this blog,
this one was kinda hard for me.
So, here goes:
1. I have always wanted to be some sort of performer be it an actress, singer, etc.
2. In high school I would wait in the restrooms for the class bell to ring in 9th grade b/c I was too shy to make friends and I didn't want to be seen sitting alone.
3. When I used to date, I would never eat on a date. I would order food, but I was too nervous to eat it in front of them.
4. I've never seen a single Star Wars movie.
5. It wasn't until the last five years or so that I would wear open toed shoes b/c I hate feet.
6. Now that I do wear open toed shoes, I refuse to do so without some sort of polish on my toenails but I never paint my fingernails.
7. It drives me crazy for my children to have dirt under their fingernails or toenails. They get so angry with me when I hold them down and dig it out.
8. I entered many singing talent shows when I was a teenager and I never won a SINGLE one.
9. I had a miscarriage before I had my first child.
10. I won second place in a dance contest when I was a teenager. (First place went to the owner's daughter)

Since most of you have probably already done this one, I think I'll just add Mr Linky here and if you've done it you can sign Mr Linky. Please put the direct link to that particular post so we can visit this Meme on your blog. If you haven't, then do it and come back and sign Mr Linky!

Monday Me Meme - Week 1

Monday Me Meme
This is a brand new meme. All you have to do is give 5 answers to the question that is asked about yourself every Monday. Easy as Pie.
Go over and grab the code, sign Mr Linky and tell Jackie I sent ya. ;)

Here is the first question:
List 5 things that your spouse or significant other does that bugs the heck out of you. If you're single, then list 5 things that your employer, kid, or relative does that drives you crazy!
1. My husband leaves his shoes right in front of the couch where they land after he kicks them off.
2. When I trip over my husband's shoes that he leaves right in front of the couch it bugs the heck out of me.
3. Picking up husband's shoes days later when he's worn every pair in his closet and there are no more there because they are all piled up in front of the couch where he has kicked them off bugs the heck out of me.
4. Cleaning up the mud out of the floor that has loosened from hubby's shoes when they thud on the floor after he kicks them off in front of the couch where they land causing me to trip over them bugs the heck out of me.
5. Oh, and leaving the toilet seat up, that one's annoying too. *grin*

A Meme By Tyler

Hello, mommy's friends! This is Tyler, Mommy is typing for me of course.
My mommy informed me that the lovely Ms Sanni has a son named Luis and he tagged little ole me for a meme. Since I don't know how to type and I don't even know what meme means, Mommy is helping me tell you 7 things about myself. So, here goes:

* I have two stick horses that I LOVE to ride. One's "my black horse" and the other's "my brown horse". I take turns riding them because I ride them so much I make them very tired, so I have to let one rest while I ride the other. They are good to me and get me where I need to go.
*I have two cowboy hats that I wear when I ride my ponies. I have a black hat and a straw hat. I make sure that my hat matches my horse.

*I like to play in water, especially when I am not supposed to. One time I snuck out in the back yard and mommy didn't even know I was out of the house. There was lots of water in the back yard from the rain and I just couldn't pass it up. Mommy wasn't too mad because she grabbed the camera instead of the paddle. Whew!
*I am a big fan of the Disney movie, Cars. My favorite character is Mator. I call him "Matey". I have a "Matey" blanket that I sleep with every night. I love it because it's soft and it keeps me warm.
*We have a puppy dog named Oscar that I love to play with and a kitty cat named JJ. He stays outside most of the time, but he's my friend.

*I'm going to be a big brother soon and I'm pretty excited about it!

*I love to drink milk flavored with strawberry syrup. I usually have a cup in the morning when I wake up and one at night before bed.

I was tagged by Alice over at I Was Born to Cre8 & Last Minute Lyn to do this meme and there are rules and such to it, but since I think most of you have already done it, I'm not doing the cut and paste thing on links nor am I adding five more people to the list, since I don't really know anyone who hasn't already been tagged with this meme (other than myself).

Ten Things You Probably Didn't Know About ME!

I was tagged by Dayngr over at Dayngrous Discourse for the Ten Things Meme. I've done this one before but it's been a while. So, I thought I'd give it a whirl. So, here goes...ten things you might not know about me.
1. My sister was really sick when we were younger, quit breathing, went to the hospital, etc. When she came home, I told my mom I did not want her to sleep with me anymore. I was scared she'd die in bed with me!
2. I collect Disney movies.
3. I have a 10 year old sister who lives in Texas. I haven't seen her since she was 4. It makes me sad.
4. I still have old notes and letters passed between my friends and I from high school (12 years ago!)
5. I've met The Platters. They came to our house when I was a kid. My mom made dinner for them and they sang for us. It was VERY cool!
6. I've had the same best friend for 19 years!!  I love you, Becca.  :)
7. I am scared to death of Freddie Krugar...the guy from A Nightmare On Elm Street.
8. I have a letter for my daughter that I wrote when I was 10.  I am going to give it to her when she turns 10.
9. I still have the first dollar that I made from singing professionally.  It was part of a $100 (the total amount that I made) but I couldn't put the whole $100 bill in the scrapbook.
10. I've been blogging since November of 2004.

The Five Questions Interview Game Meme

And feel free to tag yourself! That is what Crunchy Carpets had to say about this Meme. I really liked it, so I did! I think that's how I'll do this as well. Some folks like to be tagged, and others don't. I love to be tagged. It makes me feel so LOVED. : ) So, here goes. If you love this Meme and want to post it, please leave me a comment and I'll put a link to you at the bottom. : )

1. What have you learned so far from your visitors? That there are so many different people in the world. The coolest thing, I think is that we can all have blogs, be so different and still be the same. I could spend my whole day blogging, and reading about others. People that I don't even know intrigue me!! Amazing.

2. Did blogging change your life or your personality in any way? I don't think that it has changed my personality. It has changed my life a lot. The way I think has changed a bit. Sometimes when I see or hear something, I'll make a mental note about it or think of how I want to blog about it!

3. Are you satisfied with what you’ve achieved this year, in general? Well, I think as a woman that I will NEVER be completely satisfied with my accomplishments. I will always think that I should have done more. I am happy that I got two loads of laundry done yesterday, but wish I could have gotten all three.

4. If someone would offer to pay for a course for you, what course would you take? Photography! I love to take pictures.

5. If you had the opportunity to meet one person that you admire the most in the world, who that person would be? Wow, that's a great question. I think that the people that I admire the most I have already met...my mother, grandparents, etc. I wouldn't mind meeting the president, though. I would like to be able to sit down with him candidly and see what kind of person he really is, outside of politics.

8 MORE Things...about me

This time I was tagged by Mike from Mike's Homefront for the 8 Random Things Meme.
To see other things about me...click here.

1. I love the smell of fresh rain! But, not the bottled kind...real fresh rain, standing out on the porch while the rain is falling.

2. I have two toe rings. I never take them off (unless I'm getting a pedi).

3. I sometimes wonder what I did with my time before I had children...seriously. I am SO busy now, I think back to the years when hubby and I were first married and wonder what in the heck we did with our time.

4. I am so glad that I have a dishwasher! It saves me so much time (see #3) every day. I can not imagine living without one now.

5. I hate doing laundry.

6. I have not read HP 7. I don't own a copy. Hopefully some day I will read it, though.

7. I love to eat Mexican food. I seriously think I could eat it 7 days a week. I especially love enchiladas and white cheese dip!

7 Things Meme

I was tagged by Linda and Kaila's Mommy to do the 7 things meme. I thought I'd an a twist on this one to make it a bit interesting. So, I'm going to tell you 7 things about my husband, Brien. :)
1. He's a great cook. He can cook a mean pot of chili. The only downfall to his cooking is that he does not clean up afterward, he doesn't even attempt to clean while he's cooking or keep from making a mess. I have learned to love him for this because I can't compete when it comes to his chili!

2. Brien own's his own business. He's a master plumber. He does new construction commercial and residential. He amazes me with his memory. I work in a showroom for a plumbing supply retail company and I provide fixtures for a lot of his jobs. He'll come in and ask me about a particular job and I'll have to go pull the job folder, but he can remember every aspect of the job! I don't know how he does it. He can also pretty much tell you to the penny at any given time how much money is in his business account. He's amazing!

3. I met Brien when I was 15. He was quite the ladie's man back then. We frequented a teen country dance club in my hometown. At my 16th birthday party a guy I was dating got me a larged teddy bear. Brien asked me if I would give him a dance. I said, sure and began to stand up. He took the bear and began to dance with it. After a couple of rounds on the dance floor he exchanged the bear for me, but his sense of humor never stopped after that!

4. Brien and I were married 6 years later at the same country dance club.

5. His favorite past time is hunting and fishing. He's a very outdoorsy man. He loves to go camping.

6. He also loves to watch this sort of thing on television which drives me insane!!!

7. Brien is the love of my life and I could not imagine living without him. I know he'll probably never read this, but I do love him with all of my heart and soul and I am so glad he decided that he wanted to spend his life with me!!

Linky Love (or hate)

I don't know about any of you other bloggers but something has been happening around here that really makes me angry. I participate in several daily memes each week. Along with the memes I put up Mr Linky. I feel like it is nice to share some linky love with my fellow meme participants. Every once in a while I'd see a spam link thrown in and I would just delete it without hesitation.

It seems as though since I've joined Entrecard, I am having to work hard to weed out the spam linkies on Mr Linky. I do go back and visit the links left in Mr Linky for my fellow meme participants. It might not be that same day but I will return your visit. If I do not find the meme post, or discover that your blog is about Chicago jobs, real estate, making money online, etc and has absolutely nothing to do with this meme or you don't even participate in memes, I will remove it from Mr Linky.

Don't get me wrong, I encourage commenting. This is the best way to get a link to stay on my blog as long as the comment is valid on the post in which it is being linked to. I love it when visitors stop by via Entrecard and when you take time to comment it makes me very happy, but if you leave a link on Mr Linky and you are not participating in that meme, just know that it will be deleted and will not become part of the HTML code of the post for the Google Spiders.

8 MORE Things...

The lovely Jackie over at Call Me When You Get There has tagged me for this 8 Things meme. I did 8 Things I Love To Do last time I was tagged since I had to list 8 Things I Know the week before. I've also done 8 Random Facts as well as 10 Things About Me. I'm running out of things to tell ya, people! But, I'm going to give this one a good try for Ms Jackie since she so graciously tagged me. Okay, here goes 8 MORE things:

1. I work for Southern Bath & Kitchen, a division of Southern Pipe & Supply. I sell bathroom and kitchen fixtures.

2. I am the oldest of four children. I have a sister that is 18 months younger than myself and a twin brother and sister who are nine years younger than me.

3. I love to "look" primpy, ya know painted nails, beautifully done hair, perfect outfit, make up, etc...but I hate to go through all of the trouble so most times I'm just a bluejeans and tee shirt kinda gal.

4. I have been best friends with the same person for 18 years.

5. I spent three years of my life traveling the US with a country music band, but never made a career out of it.

6. Myspace is really confusing. I have an account there, to view other people's pages, and some people have really cool stuff. But, I just can't figure it out...

7. I love bananas, but I HATE banana flavored anything. Especially laffy taffy...the smell makes me nauseas.

8. I love the smell of my children's hair after it is freshly washed. I also love to smell their laundry when it has that downy just out of the dryer smell!

Well, there ya have it. I hope that Mimi, the queen of memes doesn't banish me from the blogosphere, but I am declining to tag anyone for this one. I think everyone has done this one several times over, but if you haven't feel free to do so and leave a comment.

5 Things I Haven't Mentioned Before

I have been tagged by my friend, Sanni @ Coffee 2 go has tagged me with a
Meme. The purpose of this Meme is for me to tell you 5 things that I have not previously revealed on this blog. So, here goes!
1. Lalalala: Some of you already know this because either you've known me personally or read The Interview I did with David a couple of years ago. I am a singer. I onced traveled with a country band as the lead female vocalist. In this country band we did several different skits. I would dress up as Dolly Pardon and sing 9 to 5. In this skit, I had to "enhance" certain portions of my body that aren't as "endowed" as Dolly. I would use balloons to achieve this look. I no longer travel, as I have a family who needs me. I realized that having a wonderful husband and a family was more important to me than music. That is why I quit singing professionally. I still do it in the shower, in the car and when I rock my kids to sleep, though.

2. My husband is the man with whom I lost my virginity.

3. My best friend and I sat up one night ALL night long watching cars in the parking lot from the 12th floor of the Gold Strike Casino hotel! :) It was a fun night. But, it sure was a LONG ride home 'cause we were both so tired!

4. If my husband (or anyone else for that matter) folds my towels, I have to refold them. I am very anal about them all being the faced the same way, etc. The washcloths are included in my madness.

Finally...I cannot STAND for a child to be dirty, especially my own. It drives me insane. They both hate it when I bathe them and dig the dirt out from under their finger or toenails!

Sorry it took me so long to do this. It was a bit harder than I had expected it to be since my life is an open book on this blog! :) Hope I've enlightened you all. Now I have to tag five others!! Who'll be the victims

lucky folks?!
I choose: Kara from A Bit of Me
Josh at The Gabbatha Journey
Rachel at The Heart of Rachel
Gene from Turning The Pages of Life
and last but not least, my buddy David from David's Daily Talk...
Hope you all will participate and enjoy!

A Christmas Meme

I have been tagged by Cathy for a Christmas meme. : ) So, here goes.

1. Hot Chocolate or Egg Nog? Egg Nog, baby!!

2. Does Santa wrap presents or just sit them under the tree? Both, depending on the size of the gift.

3. Colored lights on tree/house or white? Both

4. Do you hang mistletoe? I usually do, but I don't have any this year. I guess I need to buy some of the fake stuff to put around. : )

5. When do you put your decorations up? Usually the weekend after Thanksgiving, depending on our schedules.

6. What is your favorite holiday dish? Definitely dressing! : )

7. Favorite Holiday memory? Waking up on Christmas morning and realizing that it was CHRISTMAS...there were many gifts to open! That was the greatest. Also they year I wrote a letter and took it in to my mom and told her that Santa left me a note. I wrote about how good I had been and how he was proud of me, etc. Mom just giggled and said that was neat that he took enough time out of his busy schedule to leave it for me. : )

8. When and how did you learn the truth about Santa? What truth???

9. Do you open a gift on Christmas Eve? We do Christmas Eve at mom's house. Then we come home and the kids open one gift (mom's choice). It just so happens to be pajama's that they get to wear for Christmas morning pictures. Shhhh...don't tell.

10. How do you decorate your Christmas Tree? Funny you should ask. I always remember growing up how I loved to decorate the tree. As we got older, mom just sat and watched us do it. Well, I am very particular about where things go, etc. This year my kids were old enough to help. What a mess! There were boxes, balls, etc everywhere. I ended up redecorating it when they were gone. *LOL* The joys of motherhood.

11. Snow! Love it or Dread it? Love it, but it is a rarity in Arkansas.

12. Can you ice skate? Never tried. Is it the same as roller skating?

13. Do you remember your favorite gift? A stereo!!

14. What's the most important thing? Being with my family.

15. What is your favorite Holiday Dessert? Mom's chocolate pie, Martha's dream salad, and Ray's banana pudding.

16. What is your favorite holiday tradition? Decorating.

17. What tops your tree? A Fiberoptic Angel. She is retiring after this year, though. She doesn't want to sit up there like a good girl. She is really pretty, though so I think she'll find a place on the entertainment center or something.

18. Which do you prefer giving or Receiving? I love to buy gifts. : ) It's fun to receive as well. But, as the saying goes, it is way more fun to give than receive.

19. What is your favorite Christmas Song? Oh Holy Night

20. Candy canes, Yuck or Yum? I don't like peppermint...so YUCK. I like the strawberry or fruit flavored kind, though.

The rules say I have to tag six people to do this. So, I'm tagging
1. Skittles
2. Mike
3. Cheryl (since you love them)
4. Maggie
5. David
6. Crunchy Carpets

**Instructions, cut and paste this onto your blog, change the answers and pick six more people.*** : )

Three in One

I've been needing to post these three things all week, so I'm going to post all three of them at once so I will quit slacking and putting them off. I'm going to make this a sticky post for the rest of the day.
First off, please go visit my friend, Claire and check out the cool Easter themed blog hunt she is doing. All the details are up over at her site and it'll take you where you need to be. It started Tuesday, so there's still time to jump in and play. She's doing this for charity, so if you want to donate that's awesome but it's not required to play along! Happy Easter all, and thanks for all of your hard work on this project, Claire.

Next, my friend Linda has posted about "paying it forward" on her blog about thanking your local 911 dispatchers. Next week is National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week. I think that dispatchers are easily overlooked b/c they are not sent out to our emergencies, the firefighters or policeman are. They are the people most folks consider heros. But, just think for a minute how those firefighters or policeman would find the emergencies if it weren't for hard working and dedicated dispatchers! So, if you have a chance next week, think about your local dispatchers and just give 'em a call and say THANKS! :)
I want to take this time to say thanks to my friend, Linda for all of her hard work and dedication to her job.

So, that gets everything off my chest that I've been needin' to say. Also, someone else tagged me for a meme and I can't for the life of me remember who it was or what the meme was. If it was you, please leave it in the comments so I can go back and get it done.

8 Random Facts Meme

I was tagged by Titania Starlight to do this last week and I've been such a procrastonator that I have yet to do it. While I'm sitting here waiting on the guys to bring me count sheets to key in for inventory I figured I'd tackle it!
Here Are The Rules:
* Players start with 8 random facts about themselves.
* Those who are tagged should post these rules and their 8 random facts.
* Players should tag eight other people and notify them that they have been tagged.

1. I have a yucky black fingernail from where I smashed my finger in the truck door a couple of weeks ago. Hubby tried to get me to drill a hole in it for the blood to come out but I was too chicken and would NOT let him. So, it's still black and will be I guess 'till it grows back out.

2. I am very particular about how things are arranged on my desk and in my office in general. I'm quite anal in fact, a bit freakish actually. It's scary. When the cleaning lady comes at work I have to rearrange everything b/c it's never where I like it!!

3. I once dated a guy named "Harry". He kissed me and pushed his gum in my mouth. I replied, "Eeeewww...I don't want this." and I gave it back to him. *LOL*

4. I once had a step-mother only four years older than myself.

5. I've never seen a single Pirates of the Caribean movie, although I would like to.

6. I'm scared of elevators and esculators. I'm afraid of being stuck in an elevator and getting sucked up by an esculator!

7. I failed my driver's test twice!!! D'oh!

8. I've danced on the bar at Coyote Ugly. (I won't divulge who danced with me *wink*)

I'm not tagging anyone else. If you want to do it, consider yourself tagged!

Tuesdays Links

This idea came from Barb at Skittles' Place. I have always thought this was a great idea. So, I thought I might implement it (when I have time) on Tuesdays since I don't do any other Meme on Tuesdays and it's an easy one. So, if you wanna play, just sign Mr Linky and if you sign your name, please visit someone else on the list!
Here are the first 5 blogs (that are not in my side bar) that I came across with the Random Blog button today:

Surviving NJ: Hop on over and read all about a Jersey girl surviving daily life. Very interesting read. I've bookmarked her.

Rogers bla bla: He likes to joke around and have some laughs he thinks laughter is the cure all for every thing. Anyone with this kind of philosophy is a great read in my book!

Ramblings Of An Undisturbed Mind: She is a 30-something female with no direction in life. Humor, sarcasm and wit get her through the day. She says she's not disturbed...just irregular! Great read. I loved the post about killing bigfoot in the bathtub!

More Cowbell: Justin is in medical school and his articles "are meant to be all over the place, and my goal is to expand your conception of what is important and to have you think about something unexpected and fresh". Drop by and check him out!

The Running Man: I like this blog because a) He's a southerner (like me) and 2) He has a four year old daughter (like me). He also says he's married to the greatest "southern girl in the world". Check out The running man and tell him Crazy Working Mom sentcha!

And Now For...Mr. Linky! Please don't forget to add your name below:

I've Been Tagged

Mike has tagged me for a Meme.
I have to post 6 weird things about me. First off I will say that it was hard to narrow this list down to only six! But, here goes:

1. I have long toes which I can use like fingers to pick things up when my hands are full. I can also use them to pinch really hard. My husband and kids HATE this. I also used to terrorize my siblings with this oddity.

2. Despite what most people think, I am pretty shy and have a hard time making new friends.

3. I'm obsessed with having a neat - clear desk.

4. I HATE feet. I think that they're gross. I don't like to look at or touch them. Well, babies are the exception to this rule.

5. I got battleship pieces stuck in both nostrils (at the same time) when I was a kid.

6. I am scared to death of Freddy Krugar (from the Nightmare on Elm Street Movies).

I am supposed to tag 6 people for this and they are to put this on their blog. But, I'm changing up the rules. If you want to be tagged, leave a comment and just say that you put this on your blog so we can check it out.

Looking up at the sky on Friday

Updated:
Photobucket

TGIF!!! This photo was originally intended for a certain Friday meme that involves the sky, but I was informed this morning that my links have been removed from their site due to their visitor complaints on paid blogging. Sites that do not disclosethat they are being paid for making a review within each post can't play. I have removed all links to this site from mine as not to trouble them with my "paid blog". I'll still have pictures of the sky from time to time, maybe even especially on Fridays because I love to shoot the sky. It's my blog and I will post as I please. I am sorry that I do not meet their terms. Now, I'm off to write about promotional pens and baby clothes. (Yup, just got paid for that link.)
For information on my blog, you can click the badge to read my disclosure policy

Linda, from Are We There Yet had a wonderful idea that those of us who do paid posts and aren't allowed to participate on a certain meme site could get together and do our own meme of sorts. Here is her post. What do you think? Has anyone else been shunned who would like to play along with Linda and myself? I wonder if we could get someone to design us a badge. I'm no good with that. Any thoughts?

Update:
The Leaders of the meme that I was referring to left a comment in this post so I thought it only fitting for me to post it here in the body so that everyone can read it:
Since you do criticize our policy in this post, we think it's just fair, that we do set some things straight. Our measure is not against paid blogging or advertising. It is a measure against misleading visitors. A paid review, that not discloses the fact that the reader deals with a paid advertisement is misleading. Add to it, that 90% of the reviews deal with things that the reviewer never laid hand on and just repeats what the advertiser serves up, does not make it any better. That's why we got numerous complaints and that is why we reacted. In print media it actually is against existing law to do paid reviews without full disclosure and it has become an unwritten law in all reputable online media. And that because undisclosed advertising is defacto misleading. We are sorry to have to exclude some from XXXXX due to that, but seeing that memes are almost exclusively non profit and targeting personal sites, we don't want to send the hundreds of participants to sites, that confront them with misleading advertisement. Like it or not - we do prefer to look out for our visitors and when they have complaints that are well founded, we think it is our duty to respond accordingly. The XXXXXXXX Team

I don't think that I criticized your policy. I can understand your stance on it because there are a lot of junk sites out there that are strictly for making money. I think that your policy, with discretion is generally a good one. With that being said, I do not think that my blog is a junk blog just for advertising. I do good quality posts, or I would not have the return visitors that I do. I don't blog just to get "hits" and I don't think that my posts are misleading. I do not do "print media" either so I don't guess I'm breaking any laws here. When my link was removed from your site, I had your logo and a photo posted. That was it. I don't see where that can be misleading or harmful to your visitors. I think that you are excluding a lot of great bloggers with your broad and general rule and in this instance we will just have to agree to disagree.
