How Do I Do It - A Day in the Life (Part One)

How do you do it?  I've been asked this question many times.  How do you keep up with the responsibilities of raising three kids, co-owning a business, and everything associated with it?  The answer is preparation and planning ahead!  This is my motto.  I live for planning ahead.  Most of my day is spent figuring out my next move. In the evenings I spend lots of time preparing for the next day from choosing outfits for the children and laying them out to preparing lunches.  A day in the life of a CrAzY Working Mom is indeed crazy and busy!  There are a few things that I have found to make my mornings and evenings go much smoother.

Rise & Shine:  Getting up first allows me to have time to wake up before catering to someone else's needs as well as get dressed, hair and make up done before having to do it with children at my feet.  I wake up at 5 AM.  Although I do not have to leave the house to begin the transporting of the children to their various destinations until after 7, I have lots of work to do before we can get out the door.  Thank goodness we invested in an auto-brew coffee pot a few months back.  My coffee is brewed and greets me with a sensational good morning as I stumble out of bed each morning.  This prep-work is done at night as I clean the kitchen after dinner.

Lunches:  Making things ahead can be very helpful for saving time in the mornings.  I have to make lunches for both hubby and oldest child.  I usually prepare what I can of their lunches the night before.  This includes getting their thermos filled with sweet tea and having it in the refrigerator so that all I have to do is put it in the lunch box and go. I also put snacks and chips (non-perishables) in the boxes.  This just leaves me to make the sandwiches (which could become soggy if you make ahead) and add in the ice packs in the morning.  This could shave up to 5 minutes off my morning.  When you're getting three kids and yourself ready, five minutes could make or break you!

Getting Dressed:  Choosing your clothes and accessories the night before will save you valuable time getting dressed and avoid melt downs!!  In the evenings, usually after baths Shelby and I (or her father) will choose her outfit for the next day.  We have found this to be more productive.  It gives her time to look through and choose what she wants to wear and we're not pressured for time.  If she wants to wear something new and different, she has time to try it on.  We gather everything from shoes and socks to accessories so that it is all in one place.  That way when they begin to get dressed the process is not delayed while looking for something!  With the younger children, I also lay their clothes out, but they are not picky (yet) as to what I choose for them.

Breakfast:  The snack sized ziploc bags are perfect for dry breakfast cereals, cheese crackers, or fruit and nut combos to make your own trail mix.  Make up a few of those and keep them in a designated "snack drawer" along with pre-packaged muffins, etc. so the children can choose their on-the-go breakfast before heading out the door.  Usually we do breakfast on the go.  My children like to drink milk when they wake up.  Emily drinks white, Shelby drinks strawberry, and Tyler likes chocolate.  I buy the syrup and add it to the white milk.  I usually prepare this the night before and have it in the fridge so it's easily accessed when they wake up in the mornings.  They are cranky if they don't have their morning milk.  Most of the time the milk will fill them up so they will eat something like a bagel, muffin or dry cereal on the way to school.  The little ones are offered breakfast at the daycare and most of the time will eat there if they are hungry.  Shelby takes after her father and just doesn't really eat breakfast.  She saves it in the van to eat as a snack on the way home.

Off We Go:  Keeping the things that you need by the front door makes things easier.  Backpacks can hang on coat racks.  Make sure each family member hangs their things on the same hook each time to keep from getting things mixed up.  Put gloves, hats, scarves in jacket pockets if possible.  This time of the year is tough when we have coats, hats, gloves, scarves, backpacks, lunchboxes, etc.  I usually have to make a couple of trips to the van to get things out there (and start it to warm) before we actually all head out the door.  By the time I fill my hands up with all of the "stuff" required for the day there's no room to help little Emily down the stairs from the house.  If we're running on time, we take the little ones first because their daycare is before Shelby's school.  We drop them off and take Shelby to her destination - 1st grade.  If we're running behind we take her first.  She has a tardy bell to beat, but the little ones have a 10 o'clock cut off time so we don't have to worry so much about them.

Of course while I am at working doing everything from auto insurance quotes to payroll, it's more like a quiet time for me away from my children! My job can be stressful at times, but for the most part hubby and I work very well together and things usually go very smoothly.

That is only a small part of a day in the life of CrAzY Working Mom. I'll touch on our evenings in future post.  I hope that you all have a great Monday!  I have some exciting PR news coming later on this week and a great give away that you are all going to want to come back for tomorrow!!!

My Waiter Gave Me Crabs...

My husband, Brien and I had the pleasure of visiting a Joe's Crab Shack this weekend for the first time.  We both enjoyed it.  I danced with the staff to the Cha Cha Slide.  I think I only slightly embarrassed my husband.  One of my favorite reality shows is "The Deadliest Catch" where the crewmen of crab fishing boats risk their lives to gather crab from the Bering Sea for lucky folks like us to eat.  It was quite comical to watch us (first timers) try to figure out how to get the succulent meat from that horrid shell.  It was quite delicious.  After I had already finished only a small portion of my massive bucket of seafood with potatoes and corn, the waiter came over and showed us how to break the leg so that the meat comes out in one, nice scrumptious piece.  Thanks for that, dude.

We had a wonderful time while in Louisiana for two days. It was a nice break from the monotony of trying to find affordable health insurance and the other woes of owning a small business.   We visited the Boardwalk and did some shopping.  Brien got to visit his favorite store, The Bass Pro Shop.  He didn't like it as much as the one in Springfield, but it was good enough for him to fill up a cart!  We had a nice break from the kids and spent some quality time with one another.  That is always nice.  The kiddos were in good hands with Brien's Mom and Dad.  They love staying.  In fact, Tyler was reluctant to come home.  We had to bribe him by telling him we'd bought him some things!  He was ready to go back after he got the goods.

I was ready to be back home, yesterday.  I did miss my kids quite terribly.  My best friend lost her grandma this morning, so I am going to visit with her and her family in a bit.  Please keep Becca and her family in your prayers.  They've had a rough week.  I love you, Bec and I hope you know that.

Happy Sunday, all.

Manic Monday - Wear

Some day little Emily might wear her daddy's company responsibilities. I thought it best that she begin learning early. While Shelby is at school and Tyler is in pre-school, Emily is at architectural school! *snort*

Seriously, though Friday while Brien was working on a set of plans he picked Emily up and was playing with her. I thought it the perfect photo opportunity. Take note that Brien is holding on to a pen while Emily has her paci!
Disclaimer:
I don't really make Emily work; yet. She'll have to at least be able to sit up on her own before we force this issue.

Field Trip!

Today I get to get to ditch the computer desks and go on a field trip with Shelby. I really enjoy the freedom that I have working alongside my husband. I am the office manager for his plumbing business and it is working out well for all involved. I can take off when the need arises, like week before last when Emily was so sick. I could stay home with her and not worry too much about it! Today I am going to travel to the capital city, Little Rock to see "Three Blind Mice" at the Children's Theater. Shelby is pretty excited about it and so am I. I love to watch stage performances and I look forward to enjoying this with my six year old daughter. Maybe there is a possibility that she will discover a new love today as well.

This Week In A Nutshell

Emily had her first bath. Her umbilical cord finally fell off, so she could be dunked in the water. As expected she did not like it.

Tyler started the HIPPY (Home Instruction for Parents of Preschool Youngsters) program this week. His attention span is not nearly as long as his older sister. It'll be quite a challenge working with him.

Shelby brought home her first "fundraiser" for school. Does anyone need a magazine subscription, candy, or wrapping paper?!

This was my first full week at my "new job". For those of you who didn't know I am working for my husband now. So far, so good!

A Peaceful Day

I'm sure that this will be the last peaceful day I see for a while. Hubby is gone with the kiddos. My sister is building a new house and they are working on the plumbing. The kids are playing in the dirt and having a grand 'ole time, I'm sure. I have gotten the floors cleaned, the kid's bedrooms straightened and all of the laundry caught up. So much for peaceful hmmm? I am a bit nervous about the arrival of the new baby. Thoughts are running through my head about anything and everything under the sun. Will I be able to handle all of the pressures of being a full time mommy to this new little one while helping my husband run his business. I won't just be ordering company logo shirts but I will be in charge of his finances, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, helping him bid jobs, etc. There is no room for error in this job. I just hope I can not only live up to his expectations as his wife and mother of his children, but also as his office manager! Keep your fingers crossed for me, please!

Thursday Thirteen - Randomness

Randomness of the Week
(because I'm just too lazy to be creative)

1. Today is the projected "due date" of our third child. Will she be among the small percentage of babies that are actually born on their due date? What is your prediction?

2. Earlier this week, Brien shaved ALL of his facial hair from his face. It was the strangest thing to see my husband with no facial hair. I've not seen his top lip since we first began to date (we were 16). I hated it at first, but it is growing on me.

3. Hubby is also the proud owner of a new blackberry phone. He likes it so far and I must admit that I'm a bit jealous.

4. We have three birthdays in the first week of September, I sure hope this baby girl doesn't come along on one of them, unless Grandma, Auntie, or Cousin wouldn't mind one heck of a gift and sharing.

5. I am excited about watching Big Brother tonight. The feeds have been awesome this week (I don't subscribe, just read GREAT updates over at Big Brother 10 Insider).

6. This is my first week away from my old job. I've been at my husband's office every day this week working. I keep saying that I'll take a break tomorrow, but so far tomorrow has yet to come.

7. When your kids are gone for a couple of days with their Grandparents it takes a lot longer than a couple of days to get them back into their routine.

8. Why in the heck is it so HOT at the McDonald's play land?! Seriously, we were there tonight and I was miserable. I was only sitting there watching my kids play in the tunnels above my head. Heat rises, people. They came over to get drinks and they were wringing with sweat! We didn't stay long. It was like playing Orlando golf or something. Golfing and Heat = McDonald's with screaming kids, stinky feet, and cold french fries!

9. Last night there was a lizard in my house!!! I freaked out and tried to "catch" it with a cup. When I placed the cup over the little guy (who was blue by the way) I only got half of him. His tail fell off. Shelby and I were home alone. I yelled to her to get another cup. She freaked out and kept asking why the tail was moving when it was no longer attached to the lizard. Finally she brought me another cup. I put the two together once again squishing the little guy...sorry but better a dead lizard than a loose lizard in my house!

10. I had a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and now I have indigestion. Oh, the joys of pregnancy!

11. My pedicure is in need of some touching up...trouble is that I can't "touch" my feet.

12. I'm looking forward to the three day weekend. We have no plans, but I'm looking forward to that extra "day off".

13. I took this picture on hubby's new phone tonight and I sent it to my phone b/c I thought it was too cute. It's the background screen on my phone now.

The End

Today was my last day at my current job. It was bittersweet to say the least. My sister has taken over my former position and I have no doubts that she is the perfect replacement and she will do very well. I'm super excited for her and hope that this position opens many doors for her.

The good thing about her taking over is that she went shopping with the boss yesterday and today not only did he buy us all lunch (my favorite, Mexican) but I was also presented with a basket full of goodies for the baby which contained a $100 Wal-Mart shopping card as well as a very sweet card signed by my friends, co-workers, customers, and even hubby (he's a customer) and he wrote the sweetest message inside that got me a bit teary eyed. *sniff*

I will still have my "mommy" duties of getting Shelby and Tyler to and from school and pre-school so I'll still have to get up and at 'em every morning but to know that I won't have the pressures of the job that I was in will be nice for sure. I will help Brien out at his office after the baby is born and we have some recovery time.  Next week I am going to try to take it easy and have some "me" time in preparation for this new little addition.  Daddy and Memaw (my mother in law) will have to assume the chauffeur role for a bit while I'm out of commission with the new baby.

For now, we're just playing the waiting game.  With little to no patience, this mommy does NOT like to play this game.  Hopefully it'll all be over very soon.  Stay tuned...

About Me...

Thank you to all who have e-mailed me asking how I'm doing. Just so you know, I'm fine...no baby yet. I was home sick Wednesday with some sort of stomach bug, I suppose. I woke up Wednesday morning to get ready for work and felt horrible. I thought maybe that I was having my first EVER bout with morning sickness but then I suddenly realized that there were other side effects that were not part of pregnancy. Needless to say I was home sick all day on the couch. I felt so bad that I didn't even want to hold my lap top. Thursday was a day of catching up with work and then when I got home I felt wiped out again. Today was a busy day. I felt fine at work, but before I got home, I felt bad again. I think that the heat (101° today) combined with being pregnant is getting the best of me. I ended up going to bed at 7:30. I woke up at midnight hungry, thus the crazy early AM post. I am on the count down now with this pregnancy. I am officially miserable and just ready to deliver this baby girl so that I can share some of this misery with my husband. *insert evil laughter and grin*

A Day In The Life

I am a working mom. This entails two different lives, the "working" life and the "mom" life. Unfortunately they both intertwine and some times the results can be frustrating while others they can be quite comical. My morning begins at 5:30 even though I do not have to report to work until 8. I get out of bed and make my coffee then I proceed to slowly come together with hair and make up, etc. I don't wake the kids up until I've seen the portion of the morning news that I want to see.

When it's time to wake the kiddos up, the television switches channels just as I do. Every morning is different in that I don't know who will be grumpy or not want to get out of bed. It's a toss up as to who will complain because the lighting fixtures are too bright, or the television is not loud enough. You learn to go with the flow. One thing that remains constant is the morning line up on the Disney Channel.

As I was getting ready this morning I had a laugh because as I was brushing my hair, I had a chuckle. When I first get out of bed in the mornings, I watch the clock to make sure that I am running on schedule. But, after I wake the kiddos up my concentration switches from the clock to the television. With curling iron in hand, I hear Jo Jo this morning singing her "Feelin' Good With Jo Jo" song and as I tapped my foot and hummed along I realized that every morning I listen to this same song as I curl my hair. If I am not in there fixing my hair when Jo Jo begins to feel good, I panic because I know that I am running behind. As those crazy bunnies from Bunny town begin to "Hop Hop Hop" I get the kids dressed. Finally when June, Quincy, and the gang lift off in the rocket ship it is just about time to head out the door. If Mickey Mouse begins to sing the Hot Dog song in preparation for the club house adventures, we're in trouble because we're late!

Only in the life of a CrAzY Working Mom, right?!

Misery loves company, or not!

Today has been quite a day for me. I went in to work this morning for a bit and then called my OBGYN. Unfortunately he was out of the office and I had to see a different doctor. I was not impressed with this doc's bedside manner. He was very cold and uncaring. I guess that could possibly be because I am not his patient, I don't know. Regardless, I informed him of my symptoms, chest pains (deep breaths, coughs, sneezes, etc cause pain), as well as pressure in my abdominal area. I know the pressure is common for pregnant women, but accompanied with pain in my chest had me a bit worried. His diagnosis was that my body is pumping 50% more blood through it than it normally does so it's most likely causing some discomfort. The pressure/pain in my belly, ligament pain. This is baby #3 for me and I don't remember this sort of discomfort at 30 weeks. I didn't have chest pain at all, but the pressure/pain didn't start until late 35-36 weeks with Tyler. I am thinking that if the next two months are going to be like this, it is NOT going to be good. I have a regularly scheduled visit with my doctor on Wednesday. If I am not feeling any better by Monday, I might call and see if he can see me. I think I would feel better hearing the same diagnosis from him. I was just glad to not hear big words like mesothelioma or some other big word I'd have to research to be able to even pronounce. So, keep your fingers crossed for me that I'll feel better before the weekend is over and I'm not put on bed rest! Have a good weekend, everyone. I'm off to put my feet back up and watch some more television.

The Big Announcement

For quite some time now I've been eluding to some big news to come at our house. I could not let the cat out of the bag because there are people who read, have access to, or knowledge of this blog that didn't know the news yet, so I couldn't post it here. It has now been made official so it can be announced!!

After the birth of our third child I will not be returning to my current place of employment! I have mixed emotions about this decision mainly because I really do enjoy my job (most days). Shelby will begin Kindergarten shortly before the baby is due. She will have to be taken to school and picked up from school. School will start after I begin my work day and end before I clock out, so I would have to shorten my hours just to be able to get her to and from school. Tyler will still attend the pre-school/daycare in which he is currently enrolled. I would not want to put my newborn in a daycare facility. I love the place where my kids have gone but they didn't start until they were old enough to talk so that they could keep me informed if anything happened that was out of the ordinary. I just wouldn't feel right putting a teeny tiny baby there. I understand that there are situations where parents have no other choice. My mother in law would have gladly kept the new one (and Tyler as well) so this would mean two, or possibly three stops every morning and every afternoon. With the skyrocketing gas prices, I don't know if I would even be coming out ahead! Mainly the reason I have worked for the last few years is for health insurance. My husband owns his own plumbing business. He has paid someone to do his clerical work in the past. As of right now there is no one filling that position. That is part of my job at my current employer. In weighing the costs of each we will come out ahead if I do his clerical work for him. I will have a lot more at stake when making decisions than an hourly secretary would because the continued success of his business will keep food on our table and a roof over our heads.

Taking all of the above factors into consideration it was still a very hard decision. I work for a family owned and operated business and I love the people that I work with. My boss is a good friend and he has always treated me right. He is already down one person and I knew that leaving would put him in a greater bind, but he understood that it was the best decision for me personally and the well being of my family. So, in the end it is going to be great for our family.

There are prospects for my position. We hope to get someone in at the begining of August so that I can train them for a few weeks before my final departure. Look for future posts on this subject to find out more. I think it's going to be exciting too, considering the prospects. That's all I'm sayin'...my lips are sealed. *grin*

Friday Morning Funny

I got to sleep in a bit this morning. It was nice. I got up and made a cup of coffee and actually sat to drink it while watching the morning news. I checked my e-mail and approved a few Entrecard Ads (thanks!!). My hubby runs his own business and he had some paperwork (billing, bidding, etc) he needed to work on so he told his guys to take the day off so they get a four day weekend. I let the kiddos sleep in and he was going to take them to daycare when they all got out of bed. I got a call around 9:15 and was informed that I had forgot to leave him the car seats for the kids. I left work and took them to him. On the way home, there was a small turtle on the road and I stopped to pick it up. When I got to the house, the kids were outside. I grabbed the turtle, who by this time was completely encompassed in his shell. Tyler came over to me and I told him that I had something for him. He reached up to grab it and about that time realized that it was something that was alive. He quickly jerked his hand back. I explained to him that it was a turtle and he asked where it was. I sat it on the ground and told him that when they get scared they go into their shell. If you are quiet he will come out. So, Tyler watches him for a minute and we see the grass begin to move around him and Tyler sees a foot stick out. About that time he YELLS, "Mommy he's coming out!!!" Well, he was coming out.

Brien informed me that they wanted to go spend the day with Grandma instead of school. I thought she'd just LOVE it if the kids brought this new found family member to her house for the day. I went into the house and found a box that he could fit into with pretty high sides on it so that the little guy wouldn't get loose in Brien's truck. I put the little guy in the floor of the truck between each of the kids. As I buckled them into their seats, Tyler began to scream because the turtle was out of his shell and of course he was trying to crawl out of the box. You could hear his little claws against the cardboard box and by this time Shelby began to scream as well. I couldn't help but laugh. I calmed them by telling him that turtles couldn't scale walls and that he couldn't get out of the box but that he felt safe in there since he was out of his shell. So, they thought that was cool.
I thought by now that I would've had a phone call from my mother in law thanking me for my generosity, but it must've slipped her mind because she hasn't called yet. *wink* I'm sure when I pick the kiddos up this afternoon she will show her gratitue.

Roadside Assistance?

This morning as I was driving the kiddos to daycare I passed quite a sight. An elderly man possibly in his seventies was driving down the street. Nothing wrong with this picture, right? Well, he was driving around 10 MPH. This could be really frustrating to a CrAzY Working Mom who already feels like a big pile of crap who is running late getting her kids to their destination before reaching hers! The man was driving a beat up Chevrolet pick up truck that looked like he'd just drove it straight out of the junk yard. I must admit that I am not the most patient driver in the world. As I began to pass this old man and quickly realized his dilemma. He was talking on a cell phone! Yes, my friends this old man who should probably have not been driving at all was trying to yack on modern technology. The problem was that he couldn't decide which ear he wanted to put the phone to. My guess is that he forgot to turn his hearing aids on. He was switching the phone back and forth from one side to the other. This, of course is a two handed process so most of the time he was neither looking at the road in front of him nor controlling the vehicle with his hands. What a sight, 'eh? I just wonder if he reached his final destination before cruising to the ditch or if the person he was trying to talk to told him to SHUT UP AND DRIVE because I know I sure wanted to!

Work vs Home

Tyler did well yesterday. We had a vomit free day. In fact he felt more than fine. He was mischievous most of the day. But, then again what typical 2 year old boy is not? Shelby had some strawberry milk at bed time last night. About twenty minutes later she had a bad coughing spell and then I heard the dreaded sound...and the cry..."MOMMY!!!". *sigh*
Once again I found myself dragging covers from her bed and taking them to the washer. Then I stripped her down and put her in the bath. That's the bad thing about little girls with long hair and chunky vomit. They don't make for a good combination. So, I gave her some cough medicine and we had a vomit free night from then on. So far so good today.
I'm really thinking that I am ready to go back to work selling Danze faucets and other bathroom and kitchen fixtures rather than this mommy stuff. Queen of the vomit removal team is not what I signed up for!

I hope you all are having a great, puke free weekend!

This time change is a mess!

This time change is really taking its toll on me. Here it is 10:00 and I'm not the least bit tired. I am sitting here blogging when I should be sleeping. I go to bed late and can't get up on time. This morning is the second morning in a row that I hit snooze way too many times. I got up and was rushed trying to get myself ready and then it was a fight trying to drag the kids out of bed and make them get dressed. We were hurried out of the house this morning. I had my hands full of strawberry milk, dry cereal in baggies, my purse, coat, etc. I got halfway to work and realized that I had forgotten to lock the dog in his crate! He's 4 months old now and we've left him out a few times but it hasn't work out in our favor. I was running late, so I knew I had no time to turn around and lock it. He was in it, because I made him go lay down but I knew he would not stay. I called hubby and he said he'd come put him back in about an hour. During my lunch I decided to call and see if there was any damage when he'd come home and he said that he'd forgotten to come home. Apparently there was miscommunication and I was supposed to call and remind him. So, I came home during my lunch to this:
and this...
This was a full box of tissue that I had just bought on Sunday. I had only used a couple of tissue out of it. Oscar loves to chew up tissue. He had free range of the box and nothing but time on his hands! I just let him out to potty. Thank goodness he did not leave any surprises anywhere. Then I locked him back up and left. The kids were super excited to get home and find a mess. They cleaned up tissue while I made dinner. So, the day wasn't completely a wash out!

How was YOUR day?!

I'm STILL sick!

I finally went to the doctor today. As it turns out, I have a sinus infection and now bronchitis. I have been given antibiotics and a cough medicine that I've been assured are safe to take while being pregnant. Sunday I felt a lot better and we went to my sister's house and I even did a little bit of laundry and house work. But, when we got home Sunday night I felt horrible again. I have had a sinus headache for the last three days. When I say headache, I'm not talking here and there. It has been CONSTANT, almost like a vise in my head scrunching my brain slowly but surely! It's been very miserable. Today, I went to see my family doctor and he reassured me that I could take these medicines and I needed to use a vaporizer to help break "that stuff" up as well as hot showers. This should help a lot.

Anyhow, I've been resting most of the day I just wanted to post a quick update for you all. Hopefully tomorrow I will feel like going back to work. I'm really getting tired of this house!!!

Just Random Stuff

cartoon from www.weblogcartoons.com

Cartoon by Dave Walker.

Lately my blog seems to have turned into a blog full of memes. I seem to find less time to visit all of you who visit me on a daily basis. Thanks to my good buddy, Kai who explained in this post how to find out how many feed readers you have I know that there are quite a few of you at least reading me in Google Feeds. I'd like to thank you for that. When I started this blog back in November of 2004, I never EVER thought that people other than close friends and family would actually read it, let alone comment. I am humbled by this fact. I am so happy to know that I have made so many good friends in the blogosphere. Hopefully some day have the pleasure of meeting some of you.

My life as a working mom is very hectic and most of the time it's hard for me to find time to sit down and write a "real" blog post anymore. Work is crazier than it's ever been and since I can't blog from work anymore I don't even think about what to post during work hours. It seems like when I get ideas, by the time I get in front of my computer I have forgotten what they were.

There are big things happening around our house and hopefully sometime in the next two weeks I will be able to post about them. In the mean time I will just tell you that changes are on the horizon for our family. Don't worry, they are for the good.

Anyhow, I just wanted to take time to post a few "real life" things other than a Wordless Wednesday, or Thursday Thirteen.

Time off for the holidays!

I am SO glad to have some time away from work! Selling plumbing fixtures is a rewarding job and I make good money and the people I work with are great. All that said, it is just great time have some time away from the stress of daily life and some time to relax. Well, as much as one can relax with a puppy, 2 year old boy and 5 year old daughter! Regardless, it's been a nice weekend. I'm not going back to work until Thursday so I'm rather excited about it. I hope you all have some good family time and a Merry Christmas!

Technology

Today at work we were talking about technology and how much things have advanced throughout the years. I work for a plumbing company as most of you know. I am a showroom consultant (and office manager) which means that I sell the "pretty stuff". I sell bath and kitchen fixtures such as tubs, toilets, faucets, accessories like mirrors, tissue holders, towel bars, etc. You wouldn't think of a home theater when you hear this sort of product would you? Well, my friends it HAS come to this. There are actually whirlpool tubs out there that offer stereo systems built in to the acrylic mold of your tub! How amazing is this? You can have it wired to work with your ipod, or your home theater system so while you're kicked back in your whirlpool tub you can relax to your favorite soothing sounds! The continual advancement of technology never ceases to amaze me!
