Snow Day...AGAIN!!!

I woke up this morning to hubby cooking breakfast! He went to work early this morning, but ended up calling it a day very early on because we started getting snow. It came down very quickly and immediately it started sticking to the roads. Emily and I had gotten up when he did, but we laid back down and fell asleep watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse on Disney.

Needless to say we are all snowed in today. As it stands, the weather guys are predicting we may be snowed in for a few days. In the northern part of the state of Arkansas, there is already a foot of snow. Now, that's not much to you northerners, but down here in the south, that is a lot of snow! We're having a lazy day in our pajamas watching movies. I made the mistake of letting my hubby pick out movies yesterday, so he came home with five movies...all action flicks! We're watching S.A.L.T right now, followed by the A-Team.

Emily's trip to the doctor yesterday resulted in an ear infection. She's on a ten day antibiotic, so hopefully she'll feel better quickly. Thanks to those of you with kind words and prayers for "the boss".

Happy Birthday, Nephews!

It was a bit early, but in order for the entire family to be able to make it my sister celebrated Dominique's birthday this weekend. What a fun time we had spending with them on Sunday afternoon. They had a swimming pool set up for the kids that was the perfect size as well as some pretty cool sprinkler toys. We were there just a little over two hours and I took almost 300 photos. I guess it is pretty safe to say that I had a good time as well. The hardest part about snapping photos of kids playing in water is to keep the expensive digital gadgetry in the dry! I I might need to check into getting some best diet supplements since I had cake on Saturday and Sunday. To see more photos from Dominique's party, you can click here.

Saturday afternoon we celebrated my nephew, Dillon's birthday. He had a Mario birthday cake baked by my mother in law. This thing was so life like, I felt like I was 12 again sitting in front of my Nintendo for hours! My mother in law has an awesome talent in making cakes. She makes the cakes for all of our celebrations. She created my wedding cake, and has created every single birthday cake for our children. It's an honor for her master talent to be put to good use. Thanks, Memaw for making those birthdays that much more special with your awesome talents!! We had fun with Dillon and his brother Dakota. We got Dillon the new Wii Resort game and he was gracious enough to play with the kids. They had tons of fun and it was nice getting to spend some time with the in-laws.

Overall we had a fun-filled weekend! It was nice getting to spend time with the family and the weather was beautiful, so it made being outdoors that much more fun. I hope you all had a great weekend. We're looking forward to another great week back at school. I suppose I will be taking little Emily to the doctor today. She has been running fever, coughing, and sneezing with a runny nose all weekend. Of course since Tyler was sick last week, I am sure that she has probably contracted some form of what he had. Since she was sick with RSV last winter, her likelihood of getting it again is very high. Tyler's illness was only viral so there was nothing that we could do for him other than cough medicine and Tylenol. If the same rings true for Emily I am doing all that I can do for her. But, I am afraid that if I don't take her to the doctor, she might end up getting worse and I will be to blame. I'd rather be safe than sorry! I will update later on her condition.

Oscar Takes Over Mom's Blog

Hey everyone! This is your friendly neighborhood wiener dog, Oscar here coming to ya from this thing that always sits in Mommy's lap. Mom is too busy and tired to write, so she gave me the task. She wanted me to tell you about the latest happenings at the CrAzY Working Mom household. Shelby lost her third tooth today. Well, she didn't lose it, so I don't know why they call it that. It's wrapped in a paper towel under her pillow. I got in trouble for trying to sniff it out earlier. I thought I was the only one in this house that hid things. It was her third tooth, but one of the all important front teeth. She sounds very funny when she calls my name now. I hope she will not be like this forever! They say that some fairy will come to our room tonight and take her tooth and leave her something under her pillow...NOT on my watch! I won't let anyone in her room. Grrrrr...

Tyler and Emily are not in good moods. They have pink eyes. I don't know what that means, but mom had to hold them down and put some stuff in their eyes. They both cried when she did it and I don't like it when they cry! Tyler loves his baby sister and Mom said that she thinks that Tyler loved her a little bit too much last night and that he must have brought her a pink eye home from his pre-school. I don't know why this didn't make Mom happy. A lot of things that Tyler does to baby Emily makes Mom unhappy, though.

We are going to have a lot of company over on Sunday for Easter. I think Easter is where I get to find eggs in the yard and eat them before the kids do. The man on the big magic box is saying that it is going to rain on Sunday so Mom thinks that we might need to find eggs on Saturday instead. This didn't make Mom very happy either.

Tomorrow Mom is going to go have her pedi's cured. I think that's what she told me. She said that this will make her happy! She can't wear flip flops yet because she hasn't had her pedi's cured. I sure hope that getting her feet cured will make her happy and she'll be in a better mood when she comes home tomorrow.

This is the same thing they watched yesterday, and the day before. Maybe I'll go see what Mom is doing in the kitchen. Something smells good in there. I wonder if she'll drop some? Mom will be back for LATSOF, so don't worry. Oh, and she also said that I had to say something about lingerie camisoles. I don't even know what they are. But, I bet they'd be fun to chew on. You can't help but smile at this!!!

This is my little Emily Grace. She's almost 7 months old now. Time does fly doesn't it?! She went back to the doctor today because she's got a bad cough and runny nose again. The doctor assured me that it was not another round of RSV, although it could be triggering some of these things it is probably just allergies. We got some more meds to give her in addition to her inhaler and cough medicine. The poor little dearie still keeps a smile on her face no matter how much medicine we pour down her. I can't help but smile when I think that over a year ago I would not have ever thought I would be writing a blog post about my little baby girl. I never could have imagined being a mother of three children then, but now I could not imagine NOT!

Sigh... Not Again!

Emily is sick again. I had Tyler in the doctor on Friday. He had an ear infection and severe chest congestion. Emily has had a little bit of a cough and a runny nose until today. Now she has a full fleged barking cough. It sounds like she's been smoking cigarettes for 30 years and is about to hack up a lung. Her nose is running so bad I've been looking for the shut off valve all day. Bless her heart, she's having such a hard time breathing that she can't eat much because it's hard to breathe while sucking through a bottle. This little chicka (and her mommy) has had one rough winter. I gave her a couple of puffs of her inhailer tonight and she screamed her head off! As you can see in the photo, as long as she could play with it herself she was fine, but she did NOT want me to press it against her face.

The only way she can get any rest is to sit up to keep the cough at bay. Guess who will be sitting up with her tonight...okay, do you give up! Well, hello there. I'll be here all night, I'm sure. Maybe I'll catch up on some shows I've had DVRed for weeks that I cannot find the time to watch. That's a whole other post, though isn't it?

Oh where, oh where...

In fact, I'm probably going to be on a little blogging hiatus for a bit. I will still be posting sporadically, but there are things in my life that I need to be concentrating on and to do that, I will be spending less time online.

I started eating low-carb this week. So, I am really trying to lose this extra "baby weight" that seems to be hanging around and making friends!

Monday I worked out on the Wii Fit. It had been 14 days since my previous work out. It didn't even know me. It jokingly asked me if I was my daughter. So, my goal is to work out every day this week, and hopefully the next.

The time change is kicking my butt. I am exhausted. The weather is crazy, to say the least. Yesterday was 80 something. Today it's not going to get out of the 40s. We might have some snow tomorrow!

Sometimes people are jerks. No matter how many hoops you jump through or how much you bend over backward to please them, in the end they are still jerks! Stick to your guns, I say!

Tyler is sick...bad cough, runny nose. He and Emily are at the office with me today. So far he's: gotten water all over the place washing his hands in the bathroom, sprayed a half a can of air freshener, eaten a full a bag of pinata candy he got at daycare yesterday from a birthday party, and turned his baby sister upside down in her car seat. *sigh*

I am getting prepared for our annual visit with the accountant scheduled for next Thursday. Time is ticking and I've got lots to do. Please keep your fingers crossed for a good result for the taxes this year.

My sister is moving (back) to town. The school that her daughter is supposed to go to is full, so they will be having to send her to Shelby's school!!! I'm thrilled. I think the girls will enjoy so much playing with one another and hopfully I'll be spending more time with both of them!

Is She Calling China?

Little Emily, my five month old just recovered from RSV, a very serious respiratory illness. She's been better and then over the weekend she took a down turn again. She has been coughing horribly. The thing about this little girl is that it's hard to tell when she's sick because she is such a happy baby, sick nor not. The cough worsened, and the rattling in her chest sounded like an old Chevy pick up truck. I took her in today and the doc said that she now has bronchitis and an ear infection! We're on antibiotics for the ear and re-visiting the dreadful "puffer" (inhaler) and ~~yummy~~ cough medicine. The good news is this should disappear quickly whereas the RSV hung around for several weeks. Until then, Emily is making calls to tell everyone she's okay. At least I hope that she is. How much does a call to China cost, probably not as much as a Mesothelioma lawyer?

Random Thoughts

*I made it to Shelby's field trip yesterday. We had a fun time. The performance was enjoyable (for Kindergartners).

*I am on day 10 of my Wii Fit workout. Where else can you make a baby bottle, wipe a 3 year old's bottom and catch vomit while working out?! Only from the comforts of your own home!!!

*Things the dog chewed up after his escape from his crate while home alone today: 1 pair of shoes, several diapers, a whole box of wipes (box included), a bracelet, Emily's favorite toy, one sippy cup, one package of thank you cards, and a box of tissue (box included). There were three chew toys and two bones available at his disposal. I just don't understand!!!

*Shelby is sick to her stomach. It's going to be a long night. She has had some phenergan. Best invention ever...a compound that you rub on their arms. You can't give suppositories when they've got diarrhea and what good does it do to take it by mouth?!

*This morning's temperature was 19°. Saturday it is going to be 70°! Can I get a whoot whoot?!

*I'm still on the COBRA insurance from my old job. I have got to make myself research some insurance companies for dental, medical, vision, and term insurance. I just can't seem to make myself do it!!!

*Did you hear that the postal service is considering cutting mail delivery back to five days a week due to the significant decrease in the volume of mail and the rise in the cost of delivering it?! Also, there will be another rate increase in May.

*Self cleaning oven, microwave oven, dishwasher, & lap top: I cannot imagine my life without them.

*Well, I can't imagine my life without my husband and children either. *grin*

*Oh, for those of you wondering...Emily is better! She's got a bit of a cough still, but for the most part she's well and my brother is well. It turned out that he only had a virus. Whew!

*I'm so ready for spring...and summer! Shelby asks every day if she can go swim in the pool! *LOL*

Are you Freakin' Kidding Me?!?!

Can someone please send some luck our way?! A 4 leaf clover, rabbit's foot...somethin'!

I got a call tonight from my sister that they admitted my brother into the hospital this afternoon. Apparently yesterday he went to the doctor with a sore throat. He was sent home with some antibiotics to ward off a throat infection. He woke up this morning and the whole side of his neck and face was swollen. He went to the Emergency Room and he was quickly admitted into the hospital. Many tests have been ran thus far and they have ruled out the obvious infection in his lymph nodes. My sister said that they were testing for leukemia.

On the way home from the hospital she stopped by and Shelby wanted to spend the night with her. She and her cousin, Katie are only 11 days apart in age. As we were packing her bag, she was holding her ear. She started whining a bit and said that her ear was hurting! She still wanted to go with my sister. She graciously accepted the offer, even though she'll probably be up with her in the night. She knew my hands were full with the sick baby. It doesn't look like I'm going to need Decaslim or any other diet supplement to lose weight. I think all of this stress just might do it!

It looks like I'll be visiting the hospital tomorrow and the pediatrician's office (AGAIN) on Monday! Seriously...someone send me some GOOD luck, please and fast!!!

Work vs Home

Tyler did well yesterday. We had a vomit free day. In fact he felt more than fine. He was mischievous most of the day. But, then again what typical 2 year old boy is not? Shelby had some strawberry milk at bed time last night. About twenty minutes later she had a bad coughing spell and then I heard the dreaded sound...and the cry..."MOMMY!!!". *sigh*
Once again I found myself dragging covers from her bed and taking them to the washer. Then I stripped her down and put her in the bath. That's the bad thing about little girls with long hair and chunky vomit. They don't make for a good combination. So, I gave her some cough medicine and we had a vomit free night from then on. So far so good today.
I'm really thinking that I am ready to go back to work selling Danze faucets and other bathroom and kitchen fixtures rather than this mommy stuff. Queen of the vomit removal team is not what I signed up for!
