D-I-V-O-R-C-E Que the music

I have been torn in deciding whether or not to post about this here. I have ultimately decided to give a small piece of my opinion on the subject and try to be objective. I watched Jon and Kate Plus 8 last week in tears when it was finally announced that they were going to be divorced. I was so sad for the Gosselin family. I am sad for the children, and for the couple who is parting ways. Say what you want about Kate or Jon, it's still a sad situation. This week's episode took us back into happier times, reliving the past 10 years with the Gosselin family. Seeing the couple sit in the same interview chair and laugh with one another while discussing the antics of their children was refreshing to me. That is why I watched the show.

I am sure that the show has had a profound effect on not only their relationship but also their lives. Those children know nothing of life outside of TV cameras and paparazzi. I can say that's sad, but I am to blame. I watch the show. I feel like I know the children because I have watched them grow up. So, those television cameras are there for my benefit. As far as the paparazzi go, I don't read tabloids. I believe in boundaries. I don't think that those tabloid photographers have any. They cross the lines every day photographing families and trying to get people at their worst moment to generate a headline.

With a heavy heart
I wish the Gosselin family all of the best. There are no online greeting cards for healing the broken hearts in divorce. It's sad to see a family split up, no matter what the reasons are behind it all. I can only hope that in the end the decisions that have been made are what's best for the kids because ultimately that's what really matters.

Thoughts of a tired mommy...

* At least he ran the dishwasher (once) while I was gone (for three days).

* This headache (and the stress accompanying it) is really not fun.

* I think that stress is causing it, but I have been going through a bit of a colon cleanse

*sigh* Men can be so...well, not all men but my man...shaved Tyler's head tonight and cut it with the wrong guard. He scalped the poor kid!!!

* Mother's Day...probably won't get to enjoy a day for me. Selfish - sure but I'm being honest!

* I've learned that I will always be there for my kids (and grand kids when the time comes), no matter what the circumstances. I have both parents to thank for that (and this isn't really a good thing).

* Yes, this post has turned out to be a bitch fest. It's really just how I feel, though.

* Shelby's last day of school is the 18th. I still haven't decided if she will go to daycare of to the office with Emily and I. Is it fair to send one child to daycare in the summer while keeping two with me? I would never get anything done if they were all three there. Shelby is a bit of a help. Oh, the joys of decision making in motherhood.

* Sometimes ya just need a good cry to feel better, even though you may not be able to explain to anyone why.

Random Tuesday

We have five DVDs sitting on top of our entertainment center. We've had them rented from the local video store for over two weeks. We have only watched two of them! This means that we've racked up some substantial late charges at the video store and probably will still end up renting the ones we haven't watched yet again. Today I ended this insane behavior! With the encouragement of my B/F/F I joined NetFlix. I'm super excited about it. I've added some movies to my Queue that I've been wanting to see but forget when I get to the video store. Do you have Netflix? If so, how do you feel about it? Do you love it or hate it? What movies do you have in your queue? Now I want a Roku Player! I'm adding it to my wish list. Valentine's day is soon.

I've also finished the second book in the Twilight series. It did get better. It was a slow start for me and there was a time when I almost gave up. With the encouragement of several others I stuck it out and there were a few times that I had a hard time putting it down, although not as many as in Twilight. I have not been able to find the next two books at the local stores, so I ordered them via Amazon today. Hopefully they'll ship quickly. I still haven't gotten the pacifier that I ordered via Amazon for Emily. I'll post an update when I get it. I sure do hope that it'll be an equivalent to the Gerber paci that is no longer being manufactured. If you missed that original post, you can click here.

The weather in Arkansas has been so crazy! Seriously crazy. Yesterday was in the 50s. Today, was in the 40s, tomorrow:44 Thursday:32 Friday:28. Saturday I had to take Shelby to the doctor. She has a throat infection. Yesterday Tyler went, he has a horrible cough. We didn't see our pediatrician, he was all booked up. We saw a doctor who said he just had a cold. Hopefully he'll recover soon. Last night I started feeling yucky. I am pretty sure I have a sinus infection. I'm going to use my NetiPot, take a sinus pill, and head to bed. Hopefully I'll feel better tomorrow.

Also, don't forget to get your sky photos this week. I'll be looking at the sky on Friday and hope you'll be joining me! To find out more about how to play along, you can click the following logo:

Saturday Random Thoughts

* Cheese in a can tastes good...no matter what you put it on.

* It's always fun putting up Christmas decorations, but taking them down is exhausting.

* I do love the feeling of cleanliness I experience in my living room with the tree and all of the trimmings packed away in the attic.

* I want to paint my kitchen.  Really it's just one wall, not even a whole wall.  It would probably take less than an hour.  I might buy the stuff this week and try to do it after Shelby goes back to school.

* Rainy days make me tired.  It's been so humid here that the floor in the laundry room, the front porch, in fact anything concrete has been sweating!  It's 70°+ today.  That's just crazy for December.

* I opened my reader today for the first time in almost 2 weeks (my computer was without a power cord for over a week) and I had 1000+ posts to read!

* I am sure that I will never read all of those posts.  I am sorry to all of you.  I will get around to visiting everyone in my reader, but I will not be able to read everything you've posted for the last two weeks.  There's just no time.

* While my computer was MIA, I seriously contemplated quitting this blog.  *gasp*  Yup, I did. I realized that there were a lot of things that I didn't do or put off because I would get online and lose track of time.  I am not going to be that way anymore.  It will mean less visiting to some of my regular stops, but I think that my family deserve more of my time than what they are getting.  I will be setting limits for myself and possibly trying to schedule visits to my favorite bloggers.

* I got a call today from the new manager at Curves.  I dropped my membership last December when I found out I was pregnant.  She offered me a special rate to come back. The deal is good through the month of January with a free month to boot!  I think this is a sign!  Now I just need to get with my MIL and schedule some time for her to watch Emily while I go.  I'm SO ready to lose this extra weight I've put on!!  Now to find a diet plan that I can stick to as well.  Low carb has always worked for me before. I've tried diet pills as well, with no success there. Any suggestions?  Are there any good online programs worth trying out?

Thursday Thirteen - Random Thoughts

Archived TTs ~ TT Headquarters
What's On My Mind

1. The weather here in central Arkansas this week has been very nice. Today is the best day all week. The high is 74°!

2. Tyler had a check up today. The doc gave him a clean bill of health. He had ran fever most of the night last night. (See post below) His pediatrician seemed to think it was some sort of virus that is going around since he's on antibiotics from strep throat he treated him for last week!

3. I am still angry with our dog, Oscar. He got out of his crate while I was gone to the doctor's office with Tyler. He chewed up a half a bag of Emily's diapers, opened (but didn't ruin them all) two new packages of baby wipes, and chewed up a rattle toy that I bought for Emily last week. Grrrrrrr...

4. My husband is going to deer camp this weekend leaving me alone with the three kids. I hope I am up for the challenge. I may need to invest in some acne treatments afterward from the stress, though!

5. My mother in law might have to come rescue me by the end of the weekend. The good thing is that she will if need be!

6. My mother in law is my hero! Yes, you read that right! I really do ♥ her.

7. My kids have learned about divorce this week. They are curious as to why some kids have "two" dads. I explained to them that I had two dads as well. Tyler is a bit amazed. He keeps asking who his "other" dad is. *LOL*

8. Shelby is "Kid of the week" at school this week. I get to go to her class tomorrow to read them a story. I plan to eat lunch with her as well.

9. That reminds me that I need to go talk to her teacher in the morning to find out for sure what time I am to be at school on Friday for the story.

10. So far this year for Shelby's school, we've had two fund raisers, year book advertisements, class T-shirts, & school pictures that have caused us to fork over money!

11. Oh, and we're still collecting Box Tops if you have any you'd like to contribute please click the link. Every little bit will help!

12. Oh, my Wordless Wednesday was a lizard, of course. If you click on the photo below, you can see it larger.

13. I have come to realize that if I want to get any photos of Emily without her big brother in the shot I have to do so when he's not here or he's asleep. He loves her to pieces and it's hard to keep him away from her!

Manic Monday - Big

MM Headquarters ~ Previous MMs

Things that are BIG:
* My belly, my butt, my...well, suffice it to say that pretty much everything on my body is big right now with only 3 weeks left 'till baby #3 comes.

* The remodel project that is going on at our home in preparation for said baby #3.

* The kicks, tumbles, pokes, rolls, etc that the baby in my belly is dishing out.

* The nervousness in my little girl as she prepares for her first day of kindergarten August 18th.

* My baby boy who is potty trained as well as sleeping in his own bed all before he turns three on Saturday, August 9!

* The back pain that is causing me much grief as we speak.

* The THANKS I have for Ms Bee who sent a wonderful package to me with some very CUTE outfits for the new baby!!!

* The relief that I have that we got the crib and dresser/changing table bought for the new baby. She will have something to sleep in now, although she may be temporarily displaced in the house since her room used to be a garage. It is quickly progressing, though. I am very proud of hubby!!!

Thought For The Day

Why do they sterilize the needles used for lethal injection?

Hmmm...

Isn't it a bit unnerving that doctors call what they do "practice"?

Random Thoughts

Is it just me or do all of the light bulbs in the house seem to burn out at the same time? I went to replace a bulb in one room over the weekend and used the last light bulb in the house. Now there is a bulb out in two other rooms in the house. It seems like it happens this way every time.
