D-I-V-O-R-C-E Que the music
I have been torn in deciding whether or not to post about this here. I have ultimately decided to give a small piece of my opinion on the subject and try to be objective. I watched Jon and Kate Plus 8 last week in tears when it was finally announced that they were going to be divorced. I was so sad for the Gosselin family. I am sad for the children, and for the couple who is parting ways. Say what you want about Kate or Jon, it's still a sad situation. This week's episode took us back into happier times, reliving the past 10 years with the Gosselin family. Seeing the couple sit in the same interview chair and laugh with one another while discussing the antics of their children was refreshing to me. That is why I watched the show.
I am sure that the show has had a profound effect on not only their relationship but also their lives. Those children know nothing of life outside of TV cameras and paparazzi. I can say that's sad, but I am to blame. I watch the show. I feel like I know the children because I have watched them grow up. So, those television cameras are there for my benefit. As far as the paparazzi go, I don't read tabloids. I believe in boundaries. I don't think that those tabloid photographers have any. They cross the lines every day photographing families and trying to get people at their worst moment to generate a headline.
With a heavy heart I wish the Gosselin family all of the best. There are no online greeting cards for healing the broken hearts in divorce. It's sad to see a family split up, no matter what the reasons are behind it all. I can only hope that in the end the decisions that have been made are what's best for the kids because ultimately that's what really matters.
