Fun Children's DVDs

I remember back in the day, my niece watched hours of Barney, the purple dinosaur. My older two children never did watch much Barney but little Emily seems to enjoy it. Barney: Sharing is Caring is now available on DVD from Lionsgate & HIT Entertainment. The Emmy Award-winning series Barney & Friends is one of the top-rated preschool shows today. In this DVD, Barney and his friends donate their old toys in a toy drive through magic and storytelling and sing-along song. In this DVD, the children learn that generosity can bring a smile to every face. I love the message that this DVD teaches. Did you know that Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez were once cast members on Barney? You can catch them in this warm-hearted fun. You can find out more about this DVD, and all things Barney related at Barney.com

Bob The Builder has been around for ages, but my son Tyler who just turned four has discovered the wonders of Bob and his machine team. The DVD Bob The Builder: Call In The Crew comes with a collectible toy vehicle. Tyler has played with this things since ripping it out of the box. In this DVD Bob, Muck, Scoop, and Roley build a house, open a new cafe, fix an old gate and help a family of ducks. It also comes with special features such as "Lofty the Painter" Game and "Skip's Chute Rescue" Game. Bob The Builder teaches that teamwork, positive thinking, and problem-solving equip future builders with the right Can-Do attitude to tackle any project!

We've just been introduced to Fireman Sam, the only children's firefighter-themed show. Fireman Sam is a resourceful and brave fireman who tackles problems big and small on this DVD, Fireman Sam: Help Is Here! In his first ever CGI adventure, he teaches children about fire safety and fire prevention. This DVD includes five adventures including Paper Plane Down and Hearts On Fire. I was a bit skeptical of this one being as I had not heard of Fireman Sam before. He originated in the UK and made his US debut on PBS. But, after watching it with Tyler, we both enjoyed it and learned a bit about fire safety along the way. Fireman Sam is avaialble on DVD from Lionsgate.
