Thursday Thirteen
Thirteen Things In The Floor
2. Shoes - Multiple pairs of shoes. Two children and one husband x 4 days = A LOT OF DAMN SHOES!!!
3. Books - I did not count how many "book order" paper back books I picked up, but there were lots of them. The kids both love to "read" but they don't know how to put a book back on a shelf!
4. Belt - My daughter is a skinny minny with long legs so we have to buy her pants a bit big in the waist so they will fit her in the length. This forces her to wear belts which she hates. When she gets home, she sheds them where she may. Unfortunately that metal prong that holds the belt together is not nice to your foot in the middle of the night when it pokes through as you step on it! :(
5. Salt - I was told by the doctor to use a Vaporizer to help loosen this stuff in my chest. I have to add salt to the water to create steam. I had left the container of salt in the floor (good place for it 'eh?!). Okay, so one thing out of 13 that was my fault...I picked it up anyhow!!!
6. Valentine's Chocolate (wrappers) - Unfortunately either the kids or the dog had finished off the candy. I'm inclined to think it was the kids b/c if the dog ate it he would have eaten the candy, wrapper and all.
7. Clean Clothes - I did some laundry Sunday since I felt a bit better then. Unfortunately the good feeling didn't last long. The last load that I didn't get folded has somehow gotten strewn throughout the living room. Which leads me to #8.
8. Clothes Basket - I'm pretty sure that the kids dumped the clothes out so that they could put the clothes basket over the dog and trap him in. That is hours of fun for them!
9. Dog Toys - Oscar, the wiener dog is not to be left out. He has several toys that he loves to play with and he likes to leave them in the walk ways instead of under couches or in corners where I try tohide toss them.
10. Sippie Cups - The kiddos have milk before bed and usually when they wake in the mornings. Most of the time they're pretty good about putting their cups in the sink, but every once in a great while one will hide in the crack of the couch or underneath and believe me, when those things sit there more than a day or two with milk still inside, it's worth the $1.29 to just toss it and buy another!!!
11. French Fries - Unfortunately while I've felt so horrible there has been no cooking around here. My kids love "french fries and chicken nuggets" from the golden arches. Somehow or another there was a french fry in the floor that Oscar didn't sniff out. Or maybe this thing was just so nasty he didn't want to have anything to do with that!
12. Happy Meal Toys - See #11. (These things make their way to the trash when the kids aren't looking, especially when we have 3 or 4 of the same ones...that's sad isn't it?!)
13. Hats - Hubby wears a ball cap to work just about every day. Trouble is that when he takes his hat off at night, Tyler nabs it. From there, it usually ends up in the middle of the floor for Mom (that's me) to pick up unless I want to hear hubby yell the next day, "Honey, have you seen my hat?!"
Here's to getting well...so my list will not be as long next time I have to venture through the abyss!!!
I've been sick since last Thursday and my husband and children seem to forget to pick up after themselves. Yesterday I got tired of looking at it all so I decided to pick things up. These are a few things I picked up and returned to their proper place.
1. Legos - 120 of the large ones. I know this b/c the bag was laying on top of them and it said that it contained 120.

Been there! Yikes. I wish there were a zamboni for the house that would glaze over the cracks and somehow suck up all the junk. Maybe NASA can come up with something for us....
I am laughing at you. I have half this stuff on the dining room floor and have no two-legged children. My list would include dried cat you know what, rawhide toys, shredded tissue, and TP pulled from the roll when my back is turned!
SJR
The Pink Flamingo
Great list! Books on the floor infuriate me!
Is any mother's living room floor complete without sippy cups strewn about or tucked under the couch?
I was just complaining to my mom today about all the STUFF I pick up around here...you'd think I would have the buns of steel by now with all the squatting!
Love the list...it's a nice reminder that my house isn't the only lego, milk sippy cup house!
Have you been snooping around my house while you wrote this?
Except that mentioned hats and the salt... you described our floor. How did you see THAT???
*g*
Happy TT!
T 13: All about SPAM
let's see:

laundry basket
small bag of trash waiting to go to the shute
i guess that's about it, but still, i don't work and i don't have children at home... sigh
smiles, bee

What a cute list! Hope you feeling much better!
My youngest is 17 now; ah,but those were the days... *wink*
I like Sandy's idea, myself... a giant Zamboni...
Sheesh. I feel like I'm picking up after four people -- myself, the Tour Manager, and two kids. Yowch. No wonder my house is full of stuff that's never put away!
Hope you feel better soon!
Your list can be in my house right now. :) Good list.
Gosh I hope you are feeling better. This flu has been awful. Good for you for making the effort to clean up a bit - yippee!!
Happy TT!
That looks like my floor too.
Wow.... Sounds vaguely familiar. Oh yeah I remember it sounds like - My living room floor. LOL
I wouldn't mind having a set of Legos. They're so very fun. Cheers!!
I have way more then 13 things on my floor hehehe
happy tt

I thought that was what floors were for!!! ;-)
Hope you're feeling better soon!
Hugs.
Peace
I'm in the same stuff, girl! LOL
Happy TT!
My daughter's favorite thing to shed when she was in the pre-teen stage was her 'bra'. Yep, we found it stuffed down in the couch, under the couch, around the couch, stuffed into the end table.
Why? I would ask, can't you just walk into your room (another terrible 15 yards away) and pull it off there. Then I don't care if it lays on the floor like a banana peel -- I'll just shut the door. But alas, such was not to be the case. Oh no, for at least two eternal years, the family and I found bras in the most unlikely place. I was greatly relieved when she figured out how to wear them until bath time and they finally disappeared from my living room.
We got the legos on the floor...since my mephew came last weekend the kids haven't stopped playing with them...did you just stop at 13 things? I am sure I could go way over that number any time I am under the weather...
I am doing a little better, hope the same can be said for you sweetie.
Thanks for asking.
oh, yeah...sounds like you're in my house!
LOL - my list this week is similar... I hope you're feeling better!
It's amazing how little gets done when the mom is sick. :-(
Yeah, that's how our house is too, when I get sick.
And don't feel bad about throwing the stupid toys away. I do it all the time. Sometimes, they don't even make it out of the bag.
My house is similar. Since I have been pg, I just can't keep up.
I love this list! Even though there are only two of us in our house now, things seem to just make their way to the floor! :) Guess it's part of life.
Fantastic post, Tish! I guess laying there you see all the stuff on the floor. Unbelievable! :D
I have cat toys all over the house.
Hope you feel better soon. It's terrible when your pregnant and sick... my stepdaughter is 8 months along and just got over the flu. I can truly sympathize... was 6 months pregnanat with Kaitlin 12 years ago and had the flu... it truly sucks.
Have a good weekend and GO TIGERS GO!!!
SMOOCHES~
I know I am a little late with the well wishes but I still wanted to stop by and say CONGRATS!!!
So sorry to hear you aren't feeling well. Sure sounds like it is going around. Get well soon!!
I can totally relate! I hope you feel better!
