The Cell Phone Meme

Photobucket
It has been ages since I've done an actual "meme" (rhymes with cream in case ya didn't know) - used to describe a concept that spreads via the Internet. While catching up on some unread blogs in my google reader, I came across The Cell Phone Meme from the Queen herself: Mimi, The Queen of Bloggingham Castle (where there is a dungeon for those bloggers who do not complete memes!!!). I thought I would give this meme an attempt, so here goes:

1. How important is a cell phone in UR life?
Ummm...VERY! I would say it rates right up there with food, maybe higher!

2. R U addicted to UR cell phone?
Yes, I would say that is quite possible...and I am sure that my friends and family would agree.

3. R U a texter, an emailer, or a photo sender?
...all of the above, but you left out, video sender and facebook updater

4. In the normal course of a day, about how many times do U touch UR cell phone?
I dont' think I can count that high.

5. R U guilty of distracted driving?
I have three children, what do you think?!

6. What is the 1 app never invented that needs to be made for UR cell phone?
One that cleans house, does laundry, and cooks dinner!

7. What annoys U the most about cell phones these days?
When people are talking on them when they should be doing other things like driving, paying at the grocery store, etc.

A Funky Meme From The Queen!

Well, I was clicking through my reader this morning and I came across this post from Mimi, The Queen of Memes and was instructed that if I read the post that I was to consider myself tagged. If you're not familiar with the dungeon, then you're lucky! Fortunately I have a temporary "free pass" from the queen herself since I am with child but it sure would be nice to get a lifetime amnesty from the queen to stay out of that dungeon forever!

1. Have you ever been in a funk? (ie: a mood)
Of course I have. Haven't we all?! It comes with the territory being a working mom, woman, wife, etc!

2. Describe your first funk. What were you doing when it first came upon you? It must've happened sometime when I was a teenager, and I'm sure it had something to do with a boy. *sigh*

3. Do you remember why you fell into a funk in the first place? See number 2.

4. How long did you stay in your funk?
Hmmm...probably 'till the next "catch" came along. ;)

5. Did you ever do or say anything during your sophisticated pity-party that you regretted? We all say things in the heat of the moment that we wish we could take back. Fortunately now that I am a bit older and wiser I think that the people that I would say such things to are very understanding and they can be worked through. It would be nice to be able to hit rewind from time to time, though wouldn't it?!

6. When you feel a funk coming on, is there someone you can call and talk to should you find yourself - Lord forbid - in the throes of a wild funk? What do they say to help you? Yeah, the local ice cream store! Heh heh heh...just kidding. It depends on what kind of funk it is, but usually I can get out of it by talking to friends and family and then there's always my wonderfully supportive BLOGOSPHERE! :)

7. While in the throes of a proper funk is it best to:
a. Close your eyes and hug trees in the forest til it's over
b. Drink Well, I would say EAT for now because I can't drink (alcohol that is)!
c. Throw a hissy fit
d. Curse
e. Have a fling with a passing truck driver
e. All of the above

8. Do you try to put on a happy face while you're funking? How's that working
for you? My moods can be read like an open book. Fortunately people know when to avoid me. :)

9. Do you have mood swings?
Hah! That's the funniest thing I've ever been asked?! YES!!!

10. Has severe funking ever caused you to injure yourself?
Ummm...one time I threw a hissy fit and injured my hand by hitting the wall. Thankfully no one else was harmed in this fit! I was home alone. *LOL*

11. Do you take out your fancy funky frustrations on those you love when you're in a mood or is it best to be alone and make yourself miserable instead?
I wish I could answer NO to this question but the truth is that if I did, I'd be lying. Sometimes the wrath of a FUNKED mommy is taken out on those she loves.

12. If you saw someone having a funky fit in public would you....
a. call the blog police
b. lock up your children
c. offer to drive them to the nearest 12-step program
d. give them your Prozac
e. other suggestions? I'd probably join them!

13. Do you use unorthodox methods for dealing with your funk? Do you.....
a. change your purse
b. use humor
c. scream at the mailman just because
d. redecorate the dungeon cells
e. drink Green Tea
f. I eat!

14. Did you ever have a funk that lasted more than 7 days. How did you defunkify yourself? I think that I usually snap out my FUNKS pretty quickly. Usually I just keep telling myself that "This too shall pass."

I hope that your funk passes too, Mims. In the meantime I have no Prozac to offer, but I've got lots of good sugary treats that I'd be willing to share! That's a lot coming from a pregnant momma! ;)

Hey, lookie what I got in my inbox!! Whoo hoo. :)
Thanks, Queen Mimi.

Home of the Peace Glob Movement - Mimi

Peace, everywhere, peace today!

Peace in lands of scruffy trees and pine,
Peace in lands of olives and wine,
Peace in lands where peaks are white,
Peace in lands where fields are bright.
Peace in lands of oasis and sand,
Peace in lands where people band,
Peace in lands where children play,
Peace in lands where people pray,
Peace in lands in the thick of the fight,
Peace in lands ruled by force and might.

Everywhere, everywhere, peace this day!
Pray that all world leaders lead the way,
Encouraging moral people to stand proud and tall,
No government too great, no nation too small.

BlogBlast for Peace

Have you gotten your globe yet? If not, you'd better go see Mimi to find out how to post yours on June 4, 2008. I have a million and one reasons to post a peace globe this year, but the biggest reasons are for the future of my children. I hope that some day the world will be a safe place for them to live and they don't have the same fears that we suffer from today. I think what Mimi does is an excellent idea and I am so proud to be a part of it. I hope you will too!

Dona Nobis Pacem

Today, lets be friends. No matter what our religious preferences, political beliefs, parental techniques, financial status, blogging ranking, color, race, shoe size, pant size, or what ever else you would like to insert, PLEASE just be my friend. On this day when someone cuts you off on the freeway, just smile and wave. When you have to wait a bit longer in the line at (insert your favorite place) just smile at the cashier when it's finally your turn and tell them to have a nice day as you leave. Today, my friend when your kids scream at one another or tell you that they hate you b/c they can't have a cookie before dinner just smile at them and tell them that you love them anyhow. Today, lets only raise our voices in unity to say that we can be as one! It starts with ONE! Be THE ONE, my friend. Today, tomorrow, and forever lets unite and be friends...no matter what! :) I hope that
Mimi, my friend is proud to see all of the beautiful peace globes flying today!
