Friday Night Movie Night

Since my loving sister (THANK YOU!!!) took the two older kids as well as my visiting younger (10 year old) sister for the weekend, Brien and I were home with baby Emily. We had a pretty rough storm early in the afternoon, but after it passed, it was a quiet night. We decided that we'd just veg out and watch movies. It's a rare occasion around our house to watch a movie uninterrupted and after spending a day at the office researching bathroom safety products for an upcoming remodel for a customer in addition to doing some invoicing we were both ready for an evening of rest and relaxation.

We watched Taken starring Liam Neeson as a former spy with "a special set of skills" who sets out to hunt down and kill the men who took his daughter. This one is an edge of your seat, thriller folks. I started out watching this movie half tired thinking I would never make it through the opening previews because I was so worn out. As the movie began and I became entangled in the plot I quickly realized that I would not fall asleep during this one. Brian Mills is a former secret agent for the government who is estranged from his wife and daughter. They guilt him into signing a consent form so that his 17 year old daughter can go to Paris with a friend and spend the summer visiting museums there. Shortly after their arrival, the girls are kidnapped. Fortunately, Brian was on the phone with his daughter and critical information was passed on to him that helps him to track down where she could be located. This movie is intense and gripping. As a mother, I sympathized with this character knowing that I would go to the ends of the earth to get back my baby girl as well! If you have children you'll especially love this one, but I think that even if you didn't and you enjoy a good suspense thriller this is definitely one to add to your collection. It is available NOW on DVD from Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment. This one comes highly recommended from this CrAzY Working Mom! It is, however rated R so make sure that you wait until the kiddos are in bed before watching.

I can't take watching movies where children are taken. I get too anxious.
