What Mother's Do

I came across this today and I wanted to post it here.  I have always enjoyed Steve Hartman's stories.  Being a mother, this one really tugged at my heart strings.  I think that as humans, we tend to overlook the needs of others more often than we care to admit.  But, as a Mom if I see a child hurting or in need no matter if they are my own or not I hurt as well.  Why do animals show so much compassion for one another?  This instinct is so deeply embedded into a mother's soul that it's just "what we do".  As you enjoy what these "mothers" do, I am going to go enjoy what I do and get the house cleaned up while the kiddos are gone to school!  ;)
