Ruby Tuesday

This was the scene at my office yesterday afternoon. While their mommy was catching up on Facebook, Twitter, & Blogging working very hard on important office work, term insurance comparisons and such they were snoozing their little hearts out. I didn't have my camera with me, so I used my cell phone. I am using this for my Ruby Tuesday photo because the chair that is holding the DVD player that put them to sleep is red. There is also red on the head of the turkey decoy Shelby propped up under her Kindergarten nap mat to use for a pillow.

In other news, Emily (who is now 8.5 months old) has finally cut her first tooth. I am not sure which one it was because like her sister and brother before her, she cut two in at the same time. Now we're just waiting for the ear infection that usually follows. I was just getting used to sleeping the whole night through (well, mostly) and now here comes the teething monster. She is also crawling about now pretty well. It is simply amazing to me to see this little baby growing into such a big girl. It seems like only yesterday Tyler was trying to unscrew my belly button with a screwdriver to get his baby sister out...Good times, I tell ya...good times!

Shelby is officially a first grader now. She's been promoted from Kindergarten to the 1st grade. She is out of school for the summer. We've not made any big plans thus far, but we're all excited that we're going to have a visitor in a couple of weeks. My baby sister, Jeannene is coming to spend a couple of weeks with us in June. We can't wait for her to get here. We're looking forward to a fun filled summer.

As we parents see in this photo, the work of the child is play. And by their sleeping look, it appears to have been a day of monumental work for them. When I see this, I miss when our college age kiddos were working as hard as these two...

Hi Trish, this is a really neat picture. They are sooooo much in dreamland. It almost makes you want to take a snooze as well, doesn't it? :-)
Happy RT, I just happened to see your name on Mary's RT Mr. Linky.
..
Oh yes, I am glad that your Texas sister can come to visit. Our daughter's middle name is Jeanine. :-)

I think it was Erma Bombeck who said something along the lines of, "I used to enjoy watching my child sleep until I realized he was just recharging his batteries."

They do look very cute though.

Yay for Emily's first tooth! Soon she'll have a whole mouthful!

I so wish sometimes that I could curl up on a blanket on the floor at work - especially on my 16-hour days. The girls definitely have the right idea!

Total cuteness! My kids are the same way. They can sleep anywhere. Thank goodness!

What a cute photo!

And I'm sorry to say but she can't be a first grader....just like mine can't be a fourth grader. It's not possible. I'm stopping time!

Gheez that's a cute picture. My kids were 18 months apart, and Alex had read the napping book and did what it told him. Samantha came along and hardly EVER slept during the day (she might have missed something!!). I used to put her in her crib anyway for a little break (for both of our sanities) but it never lasted too long! (Now they are 21 and 23 and recent college grads!!!)

What a precious little nest! Reading your posts about the kiddos makes me realize how quickly time does go by. Your photos sometimes make me drift backwards and find little memories I'd forgotten...

Tisha, this is a great picture! I laughed when you said Shelby used a screw driver on your belly button to try and get his baby sister out! Ha! And I bet "WE" are glad the babysitter is coming to stay a while... Another Ha! Happy Ruby Tuesday! :)

This is such a sweet photo, Tisha. I wish I could join them. ;-)

Hope Emily doesn't get an ear infection while teething.

So, where was Tyler while you were at work?

Happy Belated RT ~

Patti - Tyler goes to daycare (pre-school). He won't go every day this summer, but there's no way I could get anything done at the office with all three kiddos there.
