A Day Out With The Kiddos

Shelby, Tyler, and I went to see the movie Bedtime Stories today. It was a pretty fun movie. Adam Sandler plays Skeeter Bronson, a hotel handy man who is asked by his sister, the overly-responsible Wendy played by Courtney Cox, to watch her two children while she leaves town for an interview. Patrick and Bobbi convince Uncle Skeeter to tell them a bedtime story and the magic begins. The hilariously funny, Bugsy the huge eyed guinea pig made my kids laugh on several occasions with his crazy antics. Sandler realizes that the kids additions to the bedtime stories come true the following day. I won't give away too much of the plot but it was a pretty funny movie. It's the first time Tyler had been to the movies in a long time. He's just not one for sitting still for so long. But he did quite well today. We did have to make three restroom trips during this 90 minute movie, though between the two of them.

Recently, Tyler has developed a love for the movie Night At The Museum starring Ben Stiller. He was extremely excited to discover as the first preview rolled that there will be a sequel! He will sit still enough to watch this entire movie, several times in a row. He loves horses and enjoys watching Teddy Roosevelt ride around on his horse in the movie. I can't wait for the sequel, mainly because I know every word to the original. It'll be nice for some new material.

When we returned from the movie, Shelby decided she wanted to decorate her baby sister with her new jewels that she got for Christmas. I took the opportunity to snap a few photos.Tyler took the opportunity to...well, water the lawn.
It was quite nice getting out with the kids and not having to worry about bathroom fixtures or busted water lines for one afternoon.

If Tyler tried watering the lawn up here, he'd be peeing a stream of ice as it was barely above 20 degrees today with a windchill factor of ten below! Brr!

Sounds like a fun day for all!
