Saturday Random Thoughts

* Cheese in a can tastes good...no matter what you put it on.

* It's always fun putting up Christmas decorations, but taking them down is exhausting.

* I do love the feeling of cleanliness I experience in my living room with the tree and all of the trimmings packed away in the attic.

* I want to paint my kitchen.  Really it's just one wall, not even a whole wall.  It would probably take less than an hour.  I might buy the stuff this week and try to do it after Shelby goes back to school.

* Rainy days make me tired.  It's been so humid here that the floor in the laundry room, the front porch, in fact anything concrete has been sweating!  It's 70°+ today.  That's just crazy for December.

* I opened my reader today for the first time in almost 2 weeks (my computer was without a power cord for over a week) and I had 1000+ posts to read!

* I am sure that I will never read all of those posts.  I am sorry to all of you.  I will get around to visiting everyone in my reader, but I will not be able to read everything you've posted for the last two weeks.  There's just no time.

* While my computer was MIA, I seriously contemplated quitting this blog.  *gasp*  Yup, I did. I realized that there were a lot of things that I didn't do or put off because I would get online and lose track of time.  I am not going to be that way anymore.  It will mean less visiting to some of my regular stops, but I think that my family deserve more of my time than what they are getting.  I will be setting limits for myself and possibly trying to schedule visits to my favorite bloggers.

* I got a call today from the new manager at Curves.  I dropped my membership last December when I found out I was pregnant.  She offered me a special rate to come back. The deal is good through the month of January with a free month to boot!  I think this is a sign!  Now I just need to get with my MIL and schedule some time for her to watch Emily while I go.  I'm SO ready to lose this extra weight I've put on!!  Now to find a diet plan that I can stick to as well.  Low carb has always worked for me before. I've tried diet pills as well, with no success there. Any suggestions?  Are there any good online programs worth trying out?

Blogging really does suck a good portion of one's life and if you miss even a day sometimes, you're buried in unread posts. When it becomes more of a chore than a pleasure then it's time to sit back, reassess, and readjust. At least that's what I tell myself!!

Oh, and did you know that it's thought that if you take your tree down before the first of the year that you risk bad luck for the entire new year? I just read that today and considering the way my last year went, I think I shall leave the little artificial tree up until at least Thursday just in case! :-)

I got a bike from walmart last month and I love it...I've only lost a few pounds but my energy level is way up! It's one of those sit down bikes like a spinner. Not the typical stand up bike. Try it... you might like it. And I love that photo of the rain and the reflections.

Love canned cheese. We call it squirt cheese at our house because you squirt it out of the can!

I took down all the Christmas decorations today - except the tree and the outside lights. I keep hoping that if I close my eyes and twitch my nose that it will all put itself away. No luck with that so far.

I am doing low carb. My husband has just agreed to join me in the new year. If you decide to do low carb, check out my diet blog. I have LOTS and LOTS of great Low Carb recipes.

Putting limits on blogging is a good thing. The good thing about the reader is that button that says "mark all as read". It's not a crime to press it once in awhile.

Finding a balance between REAL life and this virtual one takes vigilance and will power. I trust you'll figure that out ;--)

I've blogged and read quite a bit less now that the kids are home from school. When they go back to school, I'll blog more (maybe).

Priorities are important, and your kids are so much younger than mine. I think most people would understand your reasons for cutting back.
