Thursday Thirteen - The Pumpkins

Archived TTs ~ TT Headquarters

About Our Pumpkin Faces

1. Yes, the pumpkin eyes, nose, etc are reusable.
2. They are made similarly to the "Mr Potato Head" parts. They are a bit longer and are fairly easy to push into the pumpkin skin than regular potato head parts.
3. Unfortunately the tattoo stickers are not reusable.
4. I loved the tattoos because they were easy to apply AND...
5. They look like someone took a lot of time and effort, though there wasn't much involved, to do!
6. These pumpkins were the result of our visit to the pumpkin patch.
7. No, we did not carve out a pumpkin this year.
8. We have always carved pumpkins in the past.
9. We didn't this year because A) New baby = less time and B) New baby = less patience.
10. The kids loved this idea because they could be more involved in it and it was easier for them.
11. The greatest thing about adding the "body parts" to the pumpkin was that they could change their minds if they didn't like them!
12. A suggestion, though if you have more than one child:
13. Buy more than one package b/c even though there are more than enough to do several pumpkins inside each package, they are always going to fight over the same set of eyes!

I like that they are like the Mr. Potato head parts... makes it fun and cool. Easy, too!

When I was a kid I loved Mr. P-Head. Smart way to go with pumpkins! But carving was alway fun, too.

My DBF loves to carve pumpkins...I did it for the first time in years last year. I guess we will be doing that as well next weekend. Happy TT my friend. Thanks for dropping by:)

I loved the non-carved pumpkins in your WW and think it’s a great way for younger kids to SAFELY create jack-o-lanterns. I celebrated my 1st Blogoversary at Small Reflections today ... and tomorrow I'm celebrating my 1st Blogoversary at Sacred Ruminations with a T-13. Hope you'll find time to drop by ;--)
Hugs and blessings

I've never actually carved one myself. Must give it a go some time.

I like the whole idea behind #10....that is the reason for the season...kids!!

My 13+ is up. All about the last week and then some. Come on over. If you visited my 13 last week, it's a follow up of that too! See you there.

My kids didn't want to carve this year because it was going to be "mushy" they chose to paint them instead.

And where, exactly, did you find these wonderful things? 'Cause I loved the pumpkins when I first saw them.

I thought it was a great idea!I have never seen it before so I think it's quite original.

Using tattoos on a pumpkin is such a great idea!!!

Well, thanks for clearing all that up! I bought one of those carving kits this year so that the kids can do it instead of Papa. The only thing is, we have to wait until the day of Halloween to carve. If we do it any earlier, the dry weather makes our pumpkins desiccate and get moldy. Ick!

Mr. Pumpkin Head - how fun!
There will be other Halloweens when Emily is bigger, for carving out pumpkins!

Thank you for sharing more about those! But - where did you get them? Do you remember what they're called?

We have 5 pumpkins this year and the thought of taking the time to actually carve all 5 is rather stressful... I love these as a fun alternative to carving all of them! :)

Those are a great idea! Happy TT!

What a great idea! I remember always being so impatient during the carving process because I couldn't help. And then when I finally got old enough to be able to do some of it, I wasn't all that interested anymore.

The stickers and stuff makes it so the kids can actually make their pumpkins safely.

Good deal!
