Thursday Thirteen - A Day In The Life...
A day in the Life...
1. So, I completely forgot how much a newborn will sleep...during the day!!!
2. I also forgot how many diapers a newborn will go through on any given day.
3. ...AND how many of them are dirty!
4. Mixing bottles of formula in the middle of the night slowly but surely can be done with only one eye open.
5. Speaking of mixing formula, I also forgot how many times a day that has to be done.
6. She's drinking 2 ounces at a time every 2-3 hours. That is a lotta bottles. I'm too tired to do the math.
7. Diaper rash is also not a good thing. Thank goodness for Balmex diaper rash cream.
8. I have such a high respect for single moms! I do not know HOW they do it?!?!
9. I am so glad that I have a husband, family, and friends to help out...otherwise I think I'd be crazier than I am at this point.
10. Sleep...yeah, I'm not getting a lot of it.
11. Why is it that babies will sleep for 4 to 5 hours straight during the day but not at night.
12. Yes, I've tried keeping her awake at during the day and NO she still doesn't sleep well at night. Maybe it's just too quiet.
13. I might be getting a mini-van! Yup, just call me Tisha the "Soccer Mom". I don't care...it'll make my life so much simpler.
*yawn* Happy Thursday Thirteen, my friends! *yawn*

Not playing, but want to put in my 2¢'s worth. I remember all of this. Yes I do. I did one thing that you probably already know about but it worked for my son. I got a Big Ben alarm clock. The ones you wind up and that tick. Put that ticking baby in his crib and he slept just like a baby ought to. Just saying. Have a great day and weekend sweetie. Off to the boat for the weekend. Big hug and lotsa lovies. :)
Bless your heart! I wish I was there to help you Tisha. Try to sneak some time in when you can! Love you!
Hard work but definitely a rewarding one! ;)
xoxo
Babies just change your life so much, especially when it's been awhile since you had one last. (When Scout was born, Delaney was 8 and McKenna was 12. I didn't think I'd EVER be doing that again! lol)
Sounds like your life is super busy...but good!!!!
Take care of yourself, and enjoy that little one!
Sleep is for wimps!
Go for the mini-van, Tisha. You can always go back to a truck when the kids are older. Believe it or not, I actually like my mini-van.
Good luck!!! Happy TT!
You poor kid. I remember the lack of sleep when my son was a baby. It gets better.
I am 40 and so done with any thoughts of having children. I love my children and now I have one grandchild. I get to sit back and watch the cycle. Only thing is that my son lucked out and did not get a baby with colic. That is now a dim nightmare. But in the end children are wonderful gifts. Always. :o)
Newborns are precious, but exhausting too. I’m glad you have help … hope you get some sleep AND a minivan!!!
Hugs and blessings,
Hi Tisha. I've so been looking forward to coming over here to see the new babe. Finally I got here (ran away from home, haha) She is way too cute for words.. they just wouldn't do Emily Grace enough justice. You are one lucky gal. What an awesome family.
Congrats! Your baby's adorable! How are things with you?
Yep, babies are a lot of work. Im 41 now and couldnt imagine starting over again. Have hubby step up to the plate and let you have a good night sleep this weekend. Be patient...this too shall pass. Happy TT my tired friend....thanks for stopping by. Nope, you wont need my list any time soon;)
Okay, just reading this post wore me out so I can only imagine how you feel! Being tired and up at odd hours of the night is so absolutely awful. You have my complete and utmost sympathy.
As for the mini-van ... I know it's a necessity but it's the beginning of the end for you! Maybe you can find a "hot" mini-van??
How have I not come across your blog for a while!??
Congratulations on your new bundle!
all I can do is add an emphatic "hell ya!" to all that you said. I am so right there with you.
Well done on the new addition to the family!
I remember those days oh so well. My daughter didn't sleep through the night until she was five years old. Talk about walking around like a zombie. Till this day I don't know how I did it.
I hope she settles in soon and you get some rest in. It is so hard in the beginning, it takes a bit of time for everyone to adjust.
Hugs Sweetie,
Kimmie
My sister only had one child, and she said she quickly learned to sleep when my niece slept. I can't imagine how you're keeping up with the new baby AND the two older kids who certainly won't keep that kind of schedule!
