Thursday Thirteen - Shopping List
Preparing For New Baby - Shopping List
Since baby #3 that we're expecting in August was a surprise baby, I do not have any of my "baby stuff" anymore. I have long since given it all away so graciously to my friends and family. Now I will have to start from scratch. I'm trying to remember what all I will need. Help me out...what am I missing?!
1. Crib, Dresser, Changing Table (well do I really need one of these, I never used the one I had with the other two).
2. Hooded bath towels, wash cloths
3. Bassinet
4. Swing
5. Bouncy Seat
6. Bottles
7. Car Seat
8. Stroller
9. Diaper Bag (I want a cute, trendy one this time)
10. Baby Monitor
11. Burp Cloths & Bibs
12. Ointments, creams, soaps, etc
13. Sanity...I think I might be too far gone for this one!!!

Hey if you figure out where to find #13, I am looking, too. I am pretty sure it eludes you after #3!
My T13 is up, stop by if you get a chance.
one thing you're missing...at least my opinion at my age...a years supply for a weekly hour or two at a day spa for yourself!!!
My thirteen is shared, hope you can come by and leave a 'howdy-do' in ghe comments!!!
How about a baby bath?
Hope you dont mind the long post. I looked this up for you. Also, if you go to babies r us or any baby store like target, they have a " new baby list" at those stores as well. Here is what I found.

Best of lukc with the new bundle of joy!
You'll need a baby sitter! Haha! And a nice bottle of wine.
I hope someone is throwing you a baby shower! I would suggest a Freezer shower...of frozen meals to get you through the first week or two, so you don't have to cook on top of dealing with the new little one.
Personally, I'd say you don't need the changing table.
Oh, and if you find the Sanity somewhere, PLEASE let me know! I lost mine a LONG time ago!!
Happy t13!
Oh boy time to get the baby stuff, I remember those days.
Tish, won't a changing table help your back? Just saying... :)
Hi Tish,
I see diapers has already been listed.
But you will simply have to have one of those slings to tote your baby around in.
My youngest used one and it was great for breast feeding.
Also you will need lots and lots of patience!!
Thanks for the help on Mr. Linky. I haven't figured out how to do the box one. But, I did manage to post one under my peace globe for BlogBlast.
I absolutely love your globe!! I changed mine today.:-)
All I know is, when I buy for or attend a shower, so many more baby things have been invented since I had babies!!
If you find a store that sells sanity, let me know pronto. This "older" mom sure could use a lot extra!
I'm not a mom so I can't help you, but you'll manage!
My TT gives you goddess astrology.
Do you really need a bassinet? I used my changing table, but never had a bassinet with either of my kids. What about a playpen.
The swing was my salvation with my first kid. The playpen with my second.
Happy TT and good luck!!
I was actually just invited to a baby shower. How'bout?
1. Clothes
2. Burp cloths
3. Mattress Pad
4. Crib Sheets
5. Baby Monitor
6. Infant Bath Tub
7. Diaper Bag
8. Baby Sling/Carrier
9. Diaper Rash Cream
10. Nasal Aspirator
11. Baby Shampoo and conditioner
12. Pacifiers
13. Bottles.
Hey love, would you be willing to send me an address and I'd like to make somethings from your list.
Penelope Anne
I loved the Bumbo seat! I'm looking for #13 as well.
We got a changing table/dresser combo so it's still useful now that we're passed the diaper years...
We never used a bassinet because both kids had reflux so were more comfortable sleeping in the swing...the pediatrician actually suggested we put the carseat in the crib, that worked wonders.
You might not need one right away, but what about a pack n' play?
I was going to suggest a few things, but I see that others have covered them already. :)
It sounds like you're in good shape in terms of getting prepared!
I thought for sure that there would be something not covered...but it seems everything I had in mind has been mentioned. Well wait. Upon more thought the one thing I wish I had with all four of my children but never did get was
A rocking chair for you! If you don't have one already go and get one!
I never used the changing table either. It was always in the wrong part of the house no matter where I put it.
What I used the most are those slings you wear across your middle and put the baby into. Kept the second born out of the hands of the first born and kept the first born - a winter baby - warm and happy.
My TT is here.
Let us know what you find as far as diaper bags - they have some cute ones out there but I wasn't willing to pay $60 for one!
I got a lot more use than expected from my baby sling & wrap. I used a Hotsling (I got my online, but Target actually carries them now) and Moby Wrap. They were always with me!
Do you have a Boppy? Even if you choose not to breastfeed, they're handy to have.
Another thing for YOU post-partum...TUCKS. Seriously.
Congrats and good luck!
The best of luck to you and your family. Such an exciting time!
Best wishes to you and your soon to be born baby!
Looks like you got it covered with other comments.
One thing we have learned. Don't go out and make any big purchase decision when you sleep deprived.. We bought $1500 lazy-boy chair because we thought we need it instead of a rocking chair.. Ouch!!!
