Just livin' the dream people

Life is hectic for this CrAzY Working Mom.
My house looks like it's been exploded by a bomb.
We're busy most of the time, it's hectic no doubt.
Coffee is a morning fix I cannot live without.

I love my three children, all just the same.
But, sanity is just as difficult as remembering my name!
Oh how I long for a nice, long soak in the tub,
A mani/pedi, or even a back rub.

On the back burner, my needs do rest.
My family comes first, this I know best.
Some day when the kids are all grown up,
I'll wish for the days of the unwashed sippy cup.

For now, this mommy of three and loving wife
Will just suck it up because she loves her life.
I wouldn't have it any other way.
I love my family more and more each day!

Last week in a nutshell:

- We went to Build A Bear.  Tyler created a horse, named "John".  Shelby created a rabbit named, named "Hopster".  Emily, with the help of Tyler and Shelby created a rabbit named "Cuddles".  The kids had a great time making their new friends.  As always, there are more pictures over at my Facebook Page.  You can click the picture here to go directly to the album.

- After all of the fun we could stand at Build A Bear, we did a bit of back to school clothes shopping for Shelby followed by a fun dinner at Crazy Hibatchi.  Tyler is NOT a fan of Japanese Steakhouse.  When the chef came out, he announced, "If he fires this thing up, I"m outta here."  I had to pick myself up off the floor from laughter.  He stood behind me the entire time, peeking his head out when something was added to his plate.  He would not eat his dinner until the chef was finished with the cooking and had left the table!

- Tyler will turn 4 on Sunday.  We're all geared up to have a back yard pool party.  Everyone is excited.  I'm praying that the weather isn't too hot and the rain will hold off since we were pounded with it last night (see post below).

- School starts back on the 19th.  I've never been so ready.  Shelby will be going to first grade.  Tyler will still be in pre-school (he starts school next year!!!).  Emily will also begin going to the daycare that Tyler attends after her first birthday (on the 2nd of September).

- Emily got another tooth. This makes three. It's kinda odd because her first two were on the bottom in the front. This one is almost a molar. It's pretty far back. It is causing her to make silly faces. I think she is sliding her tongue back and forth on it and she looks like she's sticking her tongue out, but as she does this she also puckers her bottom lip out resulting in what looks like the "bitter beer face". Remember that commercial?

- Vacation Bible School started this week.  The kids (the older 2) are going.  The church is across town (by the in-laws house).  It starts at 6:30 and runs 'till 8:30.  It's late when we get in, so we're having a tough time getting in bed at a decent hour.

I am sure there are lots of other things that I have missed due to my lack of time at the computer for actual blogging.  I will post more as I think of them.  For now, duty calls...no time for XBox, Playstation, or Wii I've got to get to work.

Hello Friends!

Just wanted to post a quick update to let you all know that I am alive and well.  It is very unlike me to go so long without an update here at CrAzY Working Mom. We survived a wonderful extra long holiday weekend.  I hope you did also.

I have lots of things that I need to post about, including but not limited to:

* Shelby's first concert experience:  Demi Lovato with David Archuleta...dinner at a Japanese Steakhouse.

* Emily's first 4th of July including fireworks.

* Shelby's trip to the mall (I think I've created a monster).

* DVD Reviews including:  12 Rounds & The Betrayed., and much more in the coming days!

* Diet updates...well, there's really nothing to post about there.  I have fallen off the wagon.  I'm not doing any work outs and I'm eating horribly.  There, I said it.  I wish I could find some sort of magic fat burners to just melt away the pounds.

For now, I'm going to go join Emily in sleep.  She is in her bed now, but this was a photo I took of her earlier today at the office while I was working, she was kicked back comfortably in her car seat, just living the life!  I promise if you've e-mailed me, or asked me questions in comments that need answering, I will get to you eventually.  Some day I will be caught up with everything including housework, phone calls, e-mails, blog reading, etc.  Well, a girl can at least dream can't she?!  Maybe some day when my children are grown?!

Oh where, oh where...

Latichia Black's Facebook profileDo you have Facebook? If so, all of the fishing pictures can be found on my profile there. You can click the badge above to get there. I haven't been online much this week. In fact, I'm probably going to be on a little blogging hiatus for a bit. I will still be posting sporadically, but there are things in my life that I need to be concentrating on and to do that, I will be spending less time online.

  • I started eating low-carb this week. So, I am really trying to lose this extra "baby weight" that seems to be hanging around and making friends!
  • Monday I worked out on the Wii Fit. It had been 14 days since my previous work out. It didn't even know me. It jokingly asked me if I was my daughter. So, my goal is to work out every day this week, and hopefully the next.
  • The time change is kicking my butt. I am exhausted. The weather is crazy, to say the least. Yesterday was 80 something. Today it's not going to get out of the 40s. We might have some snow tomorrow!
  • Sometimes people are jerks. No matter how many hoops you jump through or how much you bend over backward to please them, in the end they are still jerks! Stick to your guns, I say!
  • Tyler is sick...bad cough, runny nose. He and Emily are at the office with me today. So far he's: gotten water all over the place washing his hands in the bathroom, sprayed a half a can of air freshener, eaten a full a bag of pinata candy he got at daycare yesterday from a birthday party, and turned his baby sister upside down in her car seat. *sigh*
  • I am getting prepared for our annual visit with the accountant scheduled for next Thursday. Time is ticking and I've got lots to do. Please keep your fingers crossed for a good result for the taxes this year.
  • My sister is moving (back) to town. The school that her daughter is supposed to go to is full, so they will be having to send her to Shelby's school!!! I'm thrilled. I think the girls will enjoy so much playing with one another and hopfully I'll be spending more time with both of them!

Hey, where's my hair?!?!

Emily Grace had her 6 month check up today. She's growing and developing normally. She's developed what the doctor called "stranger anxiety" only most of the time this sort of anxiety occurs more often than not with family because they are usually fascinated with strangers. She cried when the nurse weighed her and then again when the doctor began his examination. She is normally overjoyed and full of smiles for them. The doctor was proud of this accomplishment. My sister in law does not share his pride for she is Emily's latest cause of anxiety.

As you can tell in the picture she's still searching for her hair. She weighs in at a whopping 16lbs 12oz. She's in the 75th percentile for her height but right in the middle on her weight. Her lungs are finally clear after a run in with RSV followed by bronchitis. So, we can put away the dehumidifier (hopefully until next winter). She got three immunization shots today and she handled it very well. She cried when the injections were going in and then gave the nurse the sad puppy dog face afterward, but otherwise she did very well.

My little peanut 3.0 is growing so quickly. It seems like yesterday we were bringing her home from the hospital!

***My FIL got the phone lines fixed at my house (THANK YOU, RAY!!!!) tonight by re-wiring the house. So, I'm back online now. Whew!!!***

Emily Grace

Emily still has a cough. We're still on the inhaler every four hours and cough meds every six. I feel like she is slowly improving. She's getting her appetite back. The worst part is that the inhaler dawns a chamber with a mask that I have to hold on her face to get an airtight seal and she does NOT like that thing. I'm sure I wouldn't either. It feels like I am trying to smother her and she wriggles and squirms trying to get away from me while I'm doing it causing me to hold her down. It's not fun, but it has to be done to get her well. I keep telling myself that.

Yesterday we watched the inauguration and she was cute sitting in her little Bumbo seat looking up at that big screen. I have high hopes for our new president. I hope that change indeed is coming our way not only for myself but for my children and their future as well.

Brien picked the kiddos up from school and when they got home, he and Shelby had been shopping at Wal-Mart. Guess what Shelby talked him into?! A Wii!! That girl has her daddy wrapped completely around her finger. I'd been wanting one, but we could never find one in the store. There just so happened to be one there last night, so they grabbed it up. Shelby had so much fun playing it. Tyler just doesn't get the concept, I don't think. Shelby kicked my butt at Tennis and stomped Brien in a bowling match. I will say this, it's great leverage to get her to clean her room!!!

My Sweet Little Girl

Thanks to all of you for your kind words this week.  It's been tough having to keep up with the family all while getting less sleep than I normally do with a newborn.  Emily was sick this week.  She started out with a bit of a stuffy nose which turned into a bit of a cough that progressed to vomiting and diareah with fever.  Unfortunately she decided to take on what the rest of the family has been kicking back and forth for the last two weeks.  She visited the pediatrician but since she's so young (only 5 weeks) there isn't much they can do for her at this point other than let it run it's course.  Thank goodness the fever is gone and she seems to be vomit free.

Mommy was very proud of this sweet little girl.  She has learned to smile and she hasn't let this smile fade through out all of this.  She's been a good girl and hopefully this is a peek into her future.  She's a very happy baby.  She gets a bit upset when it's time for her bottle and I take a bit longer than she wants me to, but other than that she is pretty content with life.  This makes us both very happy!

Just Because

It's been a while since I posted a picture of little Emily. Here she is just after a bath. She is doing well. She has a bit of cradle cap (a dry, flaky scalp). She's also got those baby pimples, or milk bumps on her face. Her pediatrician warned me of this due to the fact that she hung around a bit longer in the womb than she should have. It'll go away on it's own.  Other than this, she is growing well and she is starting to really notice her surroundings. She loves to watch her big brother and sister. She will turn her head as far as she can reach to see them. It is really fun to watch.  She's a good baby and really only cries when she's dirty or hungry.  My fingers are crossed that she stays this way.

Progress...PLEASE!!

I just wanted to post a quick update to let you all know that I am still pregnant! I am counting down the minutes now 'till this baby girl arrives. (8 days 'till her projected due date) There is little to no sleep for me as I cannot get comfortable laying down due to indigestion and horrible back pains and I can't sit up because my legs ache. I visit the doctor tomorrow and hopefully we'll find that we have some more progression. Last week I was dilated to a 2 but my cervix was still in tact. Keep your fingers crossed that tomorrow we'll find out that the cramps that I've been having at night have caused a bit more progression toward labor and maybe she'll arrive soon!

Baby Update

We had an ultrasound today. We discovered something VERY important about baby girl. She is just like her big brother and sister. She is stubborn! Yup, she had her little arms in front of her face with those fists of fury covering that beautiful mug and we could NOT get a shot 4D or otherwise of her face. So, I have no beautiful shot to show you. I can only say that everything looks fine! She is measuring about a week later than what she did last time, so her birthday might be sometime in September rather than August. She might be born on her Nannie or Aunt Lou Lou's birthday! We'll see.

Friday Update

We did get snow but thankfully it was not as much as they predicted for us to get in our area of the state. We only got a couple of inches but there are places in the state of Arkansas that got 18" and more! This is amazing, not only for Arkansas but for the month of March as well. I know, I know...it's not officially Spring yet but I'm ready for it. The last thing I wanted to see this weekend was snow! I am thinking about checking into some cheap land for sale in Florida or somewhere warm and snowless!

I did get Tyler to the doctor this morning. Thankfully I called at 9 and they made his appointment for 9:20. We got out and in the office by 9:15. We were out of the office by 9:30 and in the drive through of the pharmacy. It was a nice, quick visit which rarely happens! He does have an ear infection. We got some antibiotics for the little guy and some drops for the pain. I'm hoping to get a good night's sleep tonight and maybe for the first time this week he'll stay in his own bed all night long. Please keep your fingers crossed for me.

I hope you all had a great Friday and are looking forward to a wonderful weekend!
