Ouch!

PhotobucketYup, this is my back. Yup, it is severely sun burned. Yup, it reeeeeeaaaly hurts! I know, I know...I should have used sunscreen. The truth is, I DID! Only I sprayed it on my shoulders (and the top of my back, you see where the red line starts on top?) I was out cleaning the pool and had on a different swimsuit than I usually wear. It comes down farther on my back. There were parts of my back that were exposed to the sun that hadn't seen daylight in a while, so long story short, I am in a lot of pain! I am grateful for my family who have diligently rubbed silvadene cream and aloe vera with litacane gel on my back and placed vinegar soaked brown paper bags every few hours. I am one dye tablet away from being an easter egg, but believe me it sure helps take out the sting. Just call me Tisha the Pickle. Hopefully in a few days it will feel much better.  Please keep me (and my wonderful family) in your prayers.  I am so thankful that I have a loving, caring husband who is willing to take such good care of me, and a sister who went out to get the cream when she couldn't get her stubborn sister to go to the doctor.  I do feel like a big goof for letting this happen.  In the coming days, I know the discomfort will go from pain to itch, and hopefully there will be no permanent damage.  So, how are you spending YOUR summer?

Yikes, you really did it up big. Don't you know that you're supposed to cover up when working out in the sun? I guess not.

I too am hoping this will heal up soon and you'll feel better again. You and yours are always in my thoughts and prayers.

Have a pain-free day. Hugs. :)

Sandee, I was in the pool...normally I am fully protected with sunscreen...all the kids were napping, so I slipped out there to work while they were asleep and didn't have anyone to spray my back. Won't make that mistake again. *sigh*

Oh wow, that looks horribly painful! Good to see that it hasn't blistered though.

Ya know what takes the sting out? Vinegar believe it or not! Apply it with a paper towel and it really does seem to do the trick though you may smell somewhat like a pickle.

Oh, Tish!!! You probably should have seen the doctor for a burn that bad. How are you today?

I hope you are feeling better from this awful sunburn. It takes a few days. Then the peeling starts, but at least that doesn't hurt.

More gentle hugs. :)

Oh, man...I hope that's not the kind of tan you were talking about earlier in my comments! I hope you're feeling even a little better today.

Be well!

Wow. That looks like a serious burn. Hope you're doing better now. The funny thing is that I have a picture that looks exactly like yours, with the exception that it's my husbands back ;) I was in charge of applying sunscreen on his back and apparently I failed at that job ;)
