FYI: Press Releases

Did you know that a cruising baby in one day can take as many steps as a marathon runner in a race*, and a nine-month old baby can crawl up to 400 meters in 20 minutes**? It's this active play that continually inspires the Pampers brand, and that's why moms and dads are encouraged to log on to Pampers.com (live now) to join in celebrating the development of their own best players. Parents can upload videos of their babies crawling to the world’s great baby relay on Pampers.com.  All videos featuring babies crawling from left to right that are uploaded by Feb. 20 will be included in a casting call for a commercial that will air on Feb. 28!

According to the U.S. Department of Justice, 2,185 children younger than 18 are reported missing each day.
In order to recognize educators who have shown the greatest commitment to teaching child safety in the classroom, the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and Honeywell have launched their fifth annual Got 2B Safe! Awards program.  The program rewards five Grand Prize winners with a $10,000 classroom makeover and 100 other winners with $500 worth of school supplies.  Teachers can submit essays before March 26th for a chance to win.

The Got 2B Safe! program uses four simple rules that children can use in potentially dangerous situations – check first, go with a friend, it’s my body and tell a trusted adult.  These critical lessons have continued to gain awareness among teachers, as many educators have used the activities and posters from the Got 2B Safe! safety kit in the classroom.  To learn more about how teachers can win a classroom makeover, click here.

In 2009, The Fresh Air Fund's Volunteer Host Family program, called Friendly Town, gave close to 5,000 New York City boys and girls, ages six to 18, free summer experiences in the country and the suburbs. Volunteer host families shared their friendship and homes up to two weeks or more in 13 Northeastern states from Virginia to Maine and Canada.

The Fresh Air Fund relies on donations to provide memorable summers to NYC children.

The Fresh Air Fund needs hosts for the summer of 2010.

More than 65% of all Fresh Air children are reinvited to stay with their host family, year after year.

Thanks to host families who open up their homes for a few weeks each summer, children growing up in New York City’s toughest neighborhoods have experienced the joys of Fresh Air experiences.
