The Fresh Smell of Coffee Before Bed

My favorite coffee mug!
We have one of those not-so-fancy, but very convenient coffee pots with a clock and auto brew.  Every night when I clean the kitchen after dinner, I fill the coffee pot with water and put in a fresh filter and coffee for the next morning's brew.  At night when I do this task, it always makes me want a fresh,  hot cup of coffee.

I began the discussion with my husband about how the sense of smell can immediately make you crave something.  Think about it.  If you walk into a place that serves coffee, take Hastings or Barns & Noble for instance, it's hard to not leave wanting a cup even if you were just there to rent a movie or grab a book. How about the aisle at the grocery store that has the coffee grinder? You're shopping for the best eye cream for wrinkles but it's hard for me to resist the urge to buy that yummy freshly ground coffee no matter what time of the day it is!

Another one of those smells that really gets to me are the cinnamon-sugar pecans or almonds.  You know the ones that smell an entire arena!  EVERY time we attend an event at the Verizon Arena in North Little Rock be it a concert or something on ice, it takes every ounce of self control that I have to avoid the stand that sells those things because they fill up the whole place with that sweet, sugary smell.  Oh, or that cinnabon stand in the mall?!  WOW, those things sure do smell good.

What about baby powder?  Does the smell of baby powder make you want to hold a freshly bathed baby?  Okay, well me neither I just wanted to make sure that you didn't leave to go get some coffee or cinnabons.

So, what smell is irresistible to you?  What is something that makes you weak at the knees?
