A Special Occasion Calls for Great Fun!

I have been best friends with this chickadee for 20 years!  TWENTY years she has been by my side through some of the most important moments in my life.  I am so happy to have a friend like Becca.  This weekend we took the opportunity to spend some time with just the two of us in the heart of Memphis.  We were lucky enough to get to enjoy the River Arts Festival.  Exhibitors brought their work and displayed some of the most beautiful and creative things that I have ever seen.  There was some great music and belly dancing as well. We had dinner at the "world famous" Rendezvous.  We had a long wait, but the food was worth it and the company was fun during the wait.  We danced at Coyote Ugly and had some yummy daiquiris at Wet Willies.

All in all we had an unforgettable weekend.  I am so fortunate that I have an awesome best friend to hang with and a special husband who doesn't mind unleashing his crazy wife on the town.   I am such a lucky girl.  Thanks to Becca for staying my friend for twenty years.  I look forward to the next twenty, girlie...wrinkle cream and all!!!

Anyone with that kind of best friend is very, very lucky. Many years ago, I wrote about mine and the way it ended seems to apply to you:

She believes in me and I in her. We can be raucous or demure as suits our mood, and we change suits often as our mascara runs in sympathy over small and large events.

I can see us several years hence in our comfortable shoes, still giggling and being young because we came from the same sandbox.

Looks like you girls had a good time. I love the Wet Willie's in Miami, didn't even know they had one in Memphis. I'll have to look up Rendezvous, never heard of that one. I have friends that live in Memphis, so I'm planning on going there in April.

You two look like you thoroughly enjoyed yourselves and made some wonderful memories. I wish that my best friend and I even had time to talk to each other these days but alas ... she needs a hubby like yours that would let her come visit but the older they get, the more he doesn't like her out of his sight for too long. Makes it definitely hard to have good times like the ones you were having in this post.

Cheers to you and Becca! May your friendship last forever!
