Looking at the Sky on Friday

Photobucket

For information on Looking at the Sky on Friday, including graphics click here.
To find out why Looking at the Sky on Friday was created, click here and here.
It's a bird, it's a plane, it's a helium balloon. It had escaped from the arm of a child at the Downtown Aquarium. It is a sea horse balloon. If you click on the photo you can see the larger version of it and you can see the balloon more clearly. What I loved about this photo is the beautiful colors of the sky and the clouds. This photo, like it's predecessor last week was taken from atop the Ferris Wheel. As it turns out, one can get some great shots sitting above a city like Houston, Texas. I loved it. My 10 year old sister, however was not as thrilled as myself to be so far up. She did not need Colonix, for she could have had a natural colon cleanse up there in the sky! *LOL*

The ferris wheel offers stunning views - of the earth below. It may offer a scare to look down, But the view of things in the sky is more immediate ad more clear up here than on the ground!

Ah, poor little sea horse ;-( I'm with your sister, don't particularly care for Ferris wheels.

I was wondering what that was. It's so sad when a kid loses his balloon and just has to watch it float away. Lucky balloon, though. :)

It's a plane! It's a plane! hehehe Yeah i know it's a ballon! So so far away. I wonder how it feels to ride that.

I got smoggy skies this week and even though smoggy hope you will come by and the stories that goes with it.

Happy week-end everyone!

I was always scared of going on the ferris wheel as I had some ridiculous notion that if I sat back in the seat, it would flip over! I had no problems with rollercoasters but ferris wheels - nope, no thank you, ut-uh!

My shot this week was taken from a rather high elevation but definitely not from the top of a ferris wheel!

That's a totally cool shot! Makes you wonder what the birds think when that floats by!

Oh that's funny! Floating seahorse. Great idea to take photos up on the ferris wheel!

I haven't been on a Ferris wheel since I was at a fair as a kid, and had to forcibly hold on to my little sister to keep her from jumping out of one of the rides. That cured me for life...
I don't mind great views - from fixed installations!

The balloon makes a cool contrast with the clouds.
Lovely shot!

Lovely shot. I hope the kid got another. My experience is that if a helium balloon leaves a child and is way up there, there will be tears until it is retrieved or replaced!

I played this week and on the other one in the post below it. ;0)

Wow! I want ti be in there! Great shot.

That is cool. I clicked to see the bigger image, and I can really see the seahorse up close.

I LOVE the ferris wheel, but, I'm not afraid of heights at all either. You're right - there are pretty colors in the sky.
