*Sigh*... Not Again!

Emily is sick again.  I had Tyler in the doctor on Friday.  He had an ear infection and severe chest congestion.  Emily has had a little bit of a cough and a runny nose until today.  Now she has a full fleged barking cough.  It sounds like she's been smoking cigarettes for 30 years and is about to hack up a lung.  Her nose is running so bad I've been looking for the shut off valve all day.  Bless her heart, she's having such a hard time breathing that she can't eat much because it's hard to breathe while sucking through a bottle.  This little chicka (and her mommy) has had one rough winter.  I gave her a couple of puffs of her inhailer tonight and she screamed her head off!  As you can see in the photo, as long as she could play with it herself she was fine, but she did NOT want me to press it against her face.

The only way she can get any rest is to sit up to keep the cough at bay. Guess who will be sitting up with her tonight...okay, do you give up!  Well, hello there.  I'll be here all night, I'm sure.  Maybe I'll catch up on some shows I've had DVRed for weeks that I cannot find the time to watch.  That's a whole other post, though isn't it?

I hear you. You just described my entire February this year. Either one or both of my kids seemed to be sick the entire month. Hope you get a little sleep or at least some fun tweeting.

I hope she feels better soon! Did you try putting her in her car seat and letting her sleep there...that ways she's sitting up and you guys might be able to catch a few z's.

There is absolutely nothing worse than a sick baby. I remember panicking when mine were tiny and they'd get ill.

Good luck!

That poor little girl; she's going to think that breathing is tough all the time at the rate she's been going this winter. And poor you, too! I bet you will be more than happy to see this winter end along with all of these illnesses.

Hang in there and catch a nap when you get the chance!

My kids still pass colds around to their parents! It must be because we're such an affectionate family; we can't help but share germs.

Hang in there, Mom. You'll get through this!

Andreia was sick like that from just before she turned 2 until about 3 1/2. It was hard enough dosing meds then, I can't imagine it with a baby. I also remember many sleepless nights hoping she wasn't catching what I was watching on tv as she sat sleeping in my arms. I'm grateful now that she can do her own inhaler when she needs it, and understands that it makes her feel better.

Aww! Both of my boys had to use that itty bitty inhaler thingy at different times, too. Kind of sad! But it really did help clear up the congestion in the lungs.

my son has been on a nebulizor since he was 3 months old and hospitalized 4 times... the only things i have found to work is a cool mist humidifior every night along with homeopathic allergy tablets to keep him from getting congested and clogging his bronchial tubes! he is 14 months old now and i put cinnimon in his bottle to help with the runny nose that comes wih allergies. this combination i have found to really work!! i hope she starts feeling better soon!
