Stormy Weather Brings Sleepy Moms

Last night we had some crazy wind and rain. Tyler would not stay in his room because he is absolutely terrified of storms. I can say that he gets it honest. *sigh* By the time we went to bed, he was asleep on the living room floor and the rain and thundering had subsided. Brien laid him in his bed. By midnight, the wind was literally howling and he woke up terrified screaming like a banshee on his way to our room. He crawled in between my us.

I was again awakened at 2. Nope, it was not the 3 month old Emily, it was the six year old Shelby! She said that she heard some "scary" noises outside her window and was scared to go back to her room. Yet again another child in the bed.

It's a good thing we've got a King sized bed! Both kids do not sleep well with others. They like to prop feet up in places where one should not put feet, sleep sideways, and flop all over the place. I am exhausted today. I'm off to find some coffee!

It kept me awake most of the night too.I dont like that kind of weather either. We had a wind advisory down here till 2,I thought if I stayed up till 2 or so that the wind would calm down, heck no,it did that most of the night.Sounded like a hurricane was coming through.

Scared of storms here too, luckily (so far) the girls don't seem to be a chicken like ME :)

Sorry for the long night!

Geez, sounds like our house, my hubby is as scared of storms as our 3 year old and the cat so once we have a 2nd baby I imagine we'll be filling up our king size bed too!

Oh my, I remember nights like that. You get used to sleeping on a square inch of bed don't you? :(

The storm hit us pretty hard here in central Arkansas as well.

I was out at the park with our 20 month old son, Brady. We were having fun pulling him in his new Radio Flyer red wagon, when the storm came upon us. I quickly managed to get him home before the rain came, thank goodness!

However, Brady didn't take it too well! He kept pointing at the back door, saying, "Outside! Outside! Outside!"

What is it with these athletic sleeps for kids?

My son loves to crawl in bed with hubby and me. Unfortunately, he's not as little as Tyler is; my son is too big to be in our bed!

I love storms. My youngest daughter can fall asleep in minutes when it is storming outside. Now my black lab hates them. When it thunders she goes and gets in her kennel and just whines, open the door and she will knock you down to get inside.

My son was the only one in our family who was afraid of storms. The rest of us loved watching them. We always comforted the poor kid but his sisters liked to tease him when we were out of sight. I get my weather "freakishness" from my parents. We always hopped in the car and went for rides when it rained.
