The Baby Changes Everything!
When we found out that we were having our third child, my husband and I had some major decisions to make in our lives. It was tough for me, but I decided to end my job as a showroom consultant. The biggest reason was that Shelby was starting Kindergarten, and Tyler was in preschool. This would mean that I would be going in two different directions every morning, and then there was the dilemma on what to do with the baby when I went back to work. We weighed the pros and cons to each situation and realized that the best decision was for me to quit working. Now I am free to take the kids back and forth to school with no time clock to punch.
I am still a CrAzY Working Mom, though because I now work with my husband. He owns a plumbing company. No, his name is NOT Joe, the plumber. But, he was in dire need of someone with some computer knowledge, organizational skills, and the ability to make coffee. I was just the woman to do so. It has worked out great for all of us because I can work the hours that I need to work and also take off when I need to and do things with the kids, like field trips or doctor's appointments. The best part about it is that little Emily goes to work with me every day, so there's no child care expense.
We've been working on budgeting not only our business finances, but also our personal. We don't have too much debt, but we are trying to pay down what we have. I'm happy you found a good solution that works for you and allows you to do what you need to do with the kids. When my last grandchild was born, our DIL didn't work at all for the first year, then she went back just one day a week, then two, and now she at about 3-4 days but it is working out alright for them. Also, their other kids were older and can help around the house and with the baby.
I also wanted to tell you it feels so good to visit here and be able to leave comments. Something I could not do the entire time I was using dial up. Don't know why your blog would not load or me but it wouldn't
I am glad to hear everything is working out better.... now about a housekeeper... let it happen girl you need a break or heck a least someone to do all that laundry.. :)
Hooray fro this decision! I don't think you'll regret it one bit.
If I may suggest, that you tune into Dave Ramsey (or check his website if he's not on locally) to help you with budgeting/debt paydown. He's a very smart guy.
There are tons of frugal mom websites out there. One of my blog buds hangs out at a $5 dinner website to feed a family of four!

This is a good decision. I also worked for my husband for a number of years and was able to bring it from struggling to making a profit. Small businesses really need to have the entire family on board! I think you will enjoy it. Remember, he can employ you and you can also then get your health benefits at a small group rate and also reap the tax benefits! Just make sure you pull a paycheck for yourself every two weeks --no need to clock in.
