Manic Monday - Stripe
I have pondered all weekend as to what to post for this week's MM theme. Sure there was the obvious stars and stripes for old glory being as it was so close to the birthday of the good 'ole US of A.
Then I thought of stripes as in the stripes of my son's favorite movie, Racing Stripes which starred a zebra.
I thought of the stripes of a rainbow. I got a semi-decent shot of one when we went on our family reunion trip a few weeks ago.
Ultimately I decided that since I'm 32 weeks pregnant with my third child there are more and more "stripes" developing on my growing baby bump. These stripes, or stretch marks began to show up with the first child and each one has left their own mark upon this lucky mommy. These are my "battle scars" and I am so proud to say that I have them. Unfortunately these stripes don't just limit themselves to my belly. I will bear you the misfortune of seeing my stripes but suffice it to say that there is a good road map that has developed on my body!
Happy Manic Monday to all of my stripe finding buddies!

I really think that the stripes were the worst part of pregnancy for me! I would take puking over the stripes!
I didn't have a single one with my son until I delivered him. I carried him so high that my stomach didn't have to worry about stretching until delivery! Thank goodness both kids are cute or we'd have major issues from the stripes! :)
So are you a zebra-belly then?
"battle scars" made me smile.
Hope you had a great weekend!

Great stripes Tish! Hope you and your family had a awesome 4th!!
I love the zebra picture. :)
I'll have mine up once I beat my scanner into submission. Thinking of having a shower first just to ignore it and make it feel bad for it's disobedience.
I like the rainbow photo. They aren't so easy to get.
Thoroughly enjoyed your reflections on various stripes! And the zebra pic is a total cutie!
I have a road map too. I don't embrace mine like you seem too. But they are battle scars most mamas have.
Happy Monday.
The joys of motherhood huh, I love the rainbow
i have some of those too and they never go away! i don't mind though...

Oh Tisha, am I right in saying they'll go away once you give birth? I hope. :)
Very cool post. Count me as another one with a road map, but I really don't mind them. I'm not exactly the bikini type, and my belly shirt days are long behind me. Besides, I wouldn't trade my kids for the smoothest, sleekest stomach in the world!
You earned your stripes! :)
I just found your blog and love it! Your posts are so fun...espeically this stripes one. I have a few myself from my two kids and I wouldn't trade them for the world either!
My mom used to call them battle scars too!
Happy MM!
Arent their conversations cute? Especially about how they think the baby will pop out? LOL. The stripes on your bod will eventually fade and you will become a zebra on top in the forum of gray hairs. You might want to check out my latest post. Hang in there!

They are proud battle scars, too, and I admit I've earned quite a few of them!
I believe I have a few of those battle scars myself now that you mention it! Not that I'd be showing a picture of them either, though!
