DVD Review Post

We are a fortunate family that has a television in every bedroom as well as one in our living room. It seems as though most of the time the television in the living room is tuned into Disney and the ones in the bedroom are turned off. My kids love shows like Hanah Montanna, Corey in the House, That's So Raven, and then there's the great Disney cartoons like Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Little Einsteins, The Wiggles, etc. Honestly, it's just as easy for me to get wrapped up in those shows as it is for the kids!

Over the weekend, we had the opportunity to preview two of Disney's newest releases, Corey in The House, and Minutemen. I must say that I was very impressed with Minutemen. It was a wonderful movie with a great underlying message. Even though my daughter is only five she is really into these shows that are geared more toward the teenage genre. I'm not so sure if that's a good thing or not, BUT we did really enjoy this movie. The three main characters of the movie have had their fair share of embarrassing moments at High School and they discover a way to invent a time machine. Their intentions are good in the beginning because they decide to save their fellow classmates from embarrassing moments by going back in the past and changing that moment in time so that the embarrassing moment does not happen. As we know with previous movies about time travel, when you play with father time it's always going to backfire. The same rings true in this tale, as the events unfold the three "minutemen" discover that their plan is changing things that are not for the better. It's a classic tale of High School Drama mixed with new age technology. I would recommend it to anyone with kids who enjoy the shows mentioned above. The fact that this movie stars Jason Dolley, Newt from Corey in the House helped persuade Shelby to watch it.

Also included in our play list was Cory in the House, Newt & Improved. This DVD was full of the brilliant comedy that you see on each and every episode of this show. All of your favorite cast of characters star in a brand new, never before seen episode. It is a MUST SEE. You've got to see what Newt comes up with to replace the Presidential "Seal"! This DVD is packed full of laughs that will keep your kids occupied for a while and you can catch up on some much needed blogging, e-mail, or you might just be like me and watch every single episode!
