Thursday Thirteen #23

Thirteen Fourteen Signs You're an 80s Child:

1. You had a crush on one of the New Kids on the Block members. Joey Joe

2. You wanted to be on Star Search. I would've beat Justin and Britney any day! :)

3. You wore a banana clip or one of those slap on wrist bands at some point during your youth. No, I will NOT post a photo.

4. You wore French rolls on the bottom of your splatter painted jeans. That was an art in itself.

5. You owned a doll with 'Xavier Roberts' signed on it's butt. My cabbage patch doll's name was Maximillion.

6. You can remember watching Full House and Saved by the Bell for endless hours! Heh...I still watch!

7. You thought Molly Ringwald was REALLY cool. (Was there an 80's movie she WASN'T in?) I still think she is...The Breakfast Club is one of my favorites!

8. You fell victim to 80's fashion: big hair, crimped, combed over to the side, and you wore spandex pants. I was sent home from school in Jr High because I had on spandex.

9. You ever wore fluorescent -neon if you will clothing...(or nail polish) I remember my hypercolor t-shirt. It was neon pink and green!

10. You remember when ATARI was a state of the art video game system. I'll never forget how excited I was when I got system! I thought I was so cool.

11. You know all the words to ''Ice Ice Baby''. "Stop, collaborate and listen..." Dude, I STILL know the words.

12. You remember MC hammer well. I am not ashamed to admit I've got some old school "Hammertime" on my Ipod. Those hammer pants were so awesome!

13. You can still sing the rap to "Fresh Prince of Bel Air" "In West Philadelphia born and raised..." Yup, I know 'em...and Saved by the Bell, and Golden Girls, and Full House. :)

Partying ''like it's 1999'' seemed SO far away!!!!!!!!!!!! Ya got an extra, 'cause I couldn't narrow it down to only 13!

Ohmigosh, do you remember those shirts that changed colour? And wearing 2-3 different socks that are all different colours -- at the same time? Um... er... NO, I don't, either. Not at all. I am surely no child of he 80's...

Great list! ;)

Oh, MAKE FUN OF THE HAMMER ALL YOU WANT, but I went and saw one of his shows (my friend was reviewing it -- otherwise Hammer and I would not have crossed paths) and we were blown away by how RIGHTEOUS it was. It ROCKED!

Heh heh heh. Funny list.

This was like a walk down memory lane for me! I remember those banana clips - what was up with that! Spandex was the coolest and it may not look fashionable now, but it was pretty darn comfortable. Thankfully bike shorts are still permitted!

Great, great list!

yeah - wow, remember when we thought 1999 was so far away...
and 2000 was like, totally, sci-fi. Fer sure!

I will admit to the Big Hair and the neon green t-shirt, but NOT to my crush on any NKOTB member...

I remember a few of those, but I think I'm too old for most of them. I was more of a 70's girl myself.

I'm kind of a 70s and 80s guy. I went to high school in the late 70s and graduated in 1980. The eighties were when I met, dated, and married my wife, and she had two babies, so the 80s were special too.

Lots of memories here though. Thanks for the trip down memory lane.

I remember all of this stuff but I wasn't a child of the 80's though my son was as he was born in 1981.

Of course, I did have the requisite "Flashdance"-esque torn sweatshirt and the hair!

My favorite game on the Atari was Centipede!
