My children are a bit too young for things like a Nintendo DS, or PS3 but on our recent road trip across the state line to my family reunion I knew that we needed something besides the portable DVD players to keep them occupied. I invested in the Leapster handhelds. I must say that they were worth the investment. The kiddos enjoyed them and I enjoyed the peace and quiet. The best part is that...sssshhh...you can't tell them this, but they are educational as well as fun!!!
Thanks to those of you who gave me great advice in a previous post about staying home today. But, there's not a chance! :) Ya see, today is the day that Shelby will get her wings! She and I are flying out to Baltimore to spend the next four days with my best friend, Becca. I've had the tickets booked for several months now, and I must admit that I thought this week would never get here. But, it is and today we're packed and ready to go. I am so excited I can hardly stand it!

I'll have lots of great stories and photos to share when I get back. Shelby will too because she got a surprise yesterday. I got her a camera of her own. One of those "kid proof" digital camera's (like her cousin Katie - she kept saying).
Wish me luck and keep your fingers crossed that the "falling" thing ended yesterday and that plane stays in the sky. ;)
