I'm Daydreaming Again!

PhotobucketTyler will start Kindergarten in the fall.  He's a young 'un.  He will just barely be 5 when he starts.  He went for screening a couple of weeks back and he scored a bit lower than they would like for him to score.  It was no surprise to me being that he is younger, thus they suggested summer school for him.  He started last Friday and he will go for the entire month of June.

Also for the month of June my little sister from Texas will be staying in Arkansas.  She is a pleasure to have, but being that she is only 11, it's mostly like having a 4th (GASP!) child.  It's more laundry, extra cooking, etc.  But the good thing is that with her being 11, she is also a very good helper, thank goodness!

To say that things are busy for me could quite possibly be the understatement of the century!  School, work, kids, laundry, cooking, cleaning, etc.  It's enough to make me want to curl up in the fetal position over in the corner!!!

PhotobucketSometimes I wish that I could clone myself to where I could enjoy my kids, ya know do all of the fun things with them...go swimming, to the park, watch a movie, visit the zoo, play a little baseball in the front yard...those things that I do not have time to do.  My clone could do all of those things that I hate to do like laundry, grocery shopping, cleaning the toilets, doing the floors, cleaning out the pool, etc!  Wouldn't that be nice?!?!  Seriously!  Even if I could just have a cleaning contractor keep up with the overwhelmingly large amount of housework I have to do I would be a happy woman!  I had a cleaning lady for a while, and I must admit that on the days when she came, I looked forward to coming home to a CLEAN house.  It was nice knowing that when I opened the doors, the smell of freshly mopped floors and clean linens filled the air.

Unfortunately, I'm living in the real world now where things are as they were when we left them this morning...in complete and total disarray!  I suppose I have this to look forward to for the next 16 years or so, right?

...at least a Mom can dream!

Just A Quick Question

How often do you clean your ceiling fans? I've had this debate with a male relative and he informed me that a woman, no matter how much she works or how many children she has to take care of should keep the ceiling fans clean in her home. This should be a weekly task. This is NOT a weekly task in my home. Suffice it to say it's probably not even a monthly task. My question to you is how many inches of dust are on your ceiling fans? *wink*

Relaxing...or Not!

Hubby is out of town. He is somewhere in the midst of one of the largest, craziest redneck gatherings there is in the free world. He is in Talladega, Alabama. He is there to watch the Nascar race tomorrow and Sunday. Well, that is why he says he's there anyhow! *grin* I know what goes on there. I trust my hubby, so I know that he'll have a good time and I have no worries.

Since I knew that Brien was going to get out of town this weekend, I called in some reinforcements to help me have a relaxing weekend...GRANDMA & GRANDPA! Brien's parents are always more than willing to keep the kiddos (Thank God!!!) so they picked the kiddos up from day care today and they are keeping them at least tonight (and hopefully tomorrow). So, guess what I've been doing tonight?! Yup, you guessed it! I have been cleaning! Why is it that I have some time to myself and I could be sitting in the whirlpool tub surrounded by candles listening to some soft music, or lounging around watching television and eating some ice cream and pickles and instead I'm cleaning...the kid's bedrooms of all places.

Maybe there'll be time for rest and relaxation, maybe a rest in the massage chair tomorrow? Okay, I know who am I kidding. Tomorrow the floors need swept and mopped, the laundry washed, and the dust bunnies are about to carry us away. *sigh* But, hopefully I can sleep 'till at least 7ish.

So, what's on your weekend agenda?!

Ahhhhh...

So, yesterday was a busy day for me. The kiddos had spent the night with the in-laws so I was free Sunday morning to sleep in a bit. When I did roll out of bed, I almost felt like crying as I walked through my house.
I decided the easiest way to conquer the beast was to start at one end and work my way to the other. I took the easiest room first. I got Tyler's room cleaned. He plays mostly in big sister's room, so his wasn't too bad.

I also worked my way through Mount St Laundry. : ) I got it mostly taken care of. There was one load that I didn't get finished up, so hopefully I'll knock it out tonight.

It is a great feeling of accomplishment to know that I am going to go home to a clean house tonight. I am sure after a couple of hours of being home with the two kiddos and hubby it'll be back like ground zero before too long. But, I am sitting at work today and I am not stressing over worrying about how much work I will be able to get done tonight after the kids go to bed. : )
