Mem'ries...

When I was a kid, I can vaguely remember a horrible incident. I have heard the story many times over and now that I have kids, I can only imagine the horror that my mother endured during the moments that followed a trip the Emergency Room. As you can tell from the photo on the left, I have a scar under my chin. I try to avoid bar stools because this is how the accident happened. I fell from a bar stool and sliced my chin on the bar. I was not drunk, I was a child. I don't know how old I was, but I do remember the blood! I had to be stitched up and the doctors told mom that as I grew the scar might eventually migrate to my face but thank goodness it never made it there. It's still tucked away under my chin. That's my story...and I'm stickin' to it. *wink*

That might just be enough to have kept me sober for life: a fear of bar stools.

I took Wilson when he was 4 to the ER for a similar accident. The funny thing is that I was on a coffee shop and he was just behind me.He was probably jumping up and down while I was standing at the counter waiting to be attended. All of the sudden he starts crying and when I turned back he was bleeding a lot from his lil'chin. He fell and hit with the chin on the tiles floor....It all happened in a matter of seconds. So there's to show they don't need to be on a high place to harm themselves! LOL!
We moms have to deal with a lot of stress!
