Tough Love?

Most of the American populace thinks it improper to spank children, so I tried other methods to control my kids when they had one of "those moments"

One that I found effective for me was to just take the child for a car ride and talk.

Some say it's the vibration from the car, others say it's the time away from any distractions such as TV, Video Games, Computer, IPod, etc.

Either way, my kids usually calmed down and stop misbehaving after our car ride together.  Eye to eye contact helps a lot too.

I've included a photo below of one of my sessions, in case you would like to use the technique.

That is soooooo hysterically funny..I almost peed my pants.
I have teenagers now and this form of discipline looks like it will work for me.I have found thru my experience raising my boys is that a good spanking every now and again is OK as long as it is not done often and the kids totally understand why their gettin a whippin.I only used my hand and never a belt to spank them. They are great boys and so far are turning out to be amazing young men who will contribute to the world in a happy productive manner. Thanks for makin my day
love shawny

I fell for that hook, line and sinker! But, I wish I'd thought about that when my son was that age!

Been Reading Your blog still everyday. Sorry for the lack of comments.

Anyhow, I feel like doing this sometimes. Trust me. With both my 12 and my soon 9 year old.
