Death Eating A Cracker

Linda over at Are We There Yet is the most awesome Mom, ever...no doubt about it. The above is the artwork of her lovely daughter, Amanda, a/k/a "Art Munky". Linda has helped her get her creative artwork put on coffee mugs and tee shirts. If you are a regular reader of Linda's blog you know how proud she is of Amanda and I must say that I am proud of her as well. She is an awesomely talented girl and I think know that she will be very successful in life. Some day, Linda you'll be sipping champagne and eating caviar. ;) Right now, Linda is running a contest to win one of these awesome coffee mugs. I'm all about getting something free...heh heh, aren't we all?! To enter you just write about a time you felt like "death eating a cracker". So, here goes...
When my son turned one, THANK GOD my best friend, Becca was in town. She lives in Maryland now, but was in town for a visit. She'd stayed with me the day before Tyler's first birthday party. Somehow I ended up with some sort of stomach flu during this time. I tell you what, I have never felt so horrible in my life! I was vomiting, and had diarrhea as well. That is not an easy feat in the bathroom, either. When you're doing one, the urge to do the other comes on so quickly you're usually left in a bind. So, here I am trying to prepare for a party with all of our closest friends and family and I can't stay out of the darn bathroom! Becca was SO awesome. She and my daughter Shelby worked on getting the decorations (we did a Curious George theme) put up. I took a long hot bath, but when I got out, I was so weak because I could not even keep water or sprite down. I could not stand for more than thirty seconds without my head swimming and feeling like I was going to pass out. I would eat one or two crackers and be headed straight for the bathroom again. I think that I was literally the poster child for Death Eating A Cracker! This "virus" lasted for about 48 hours if I remember correctly. It was one of the worst times of my life! I am SO glad that I had Bec and Shelby to prepare for our guests. The party went well. I hope that I am never "Death eating a cracker" again, though.
