Fitness Friday - THAT Pair of Jeans

Do you have THAT pair of jeans? You know the ones I'm talking about. Those jeans that hang in your closet staring you in the face every time you open the door. They almost seem to mock you in your weight loss quest. Every once in a while you'll take them down and put a leg in them only to be disgusted that you still can't pull them up. It's probably that favorite pair that you wore before the birth of your last child. This is the case for me. I have a pair of jeans that I absolutely love. Since the birth of my third child I have not been even close to fitting into them. Most of my favorite jeans are so worn that they really need to be replaced. But, since I am steadily losing weight I hate to invest too much money into new jeans until I drop at least one pant size. This morning I woke up and realized that I forgot to put the load of jeans I had in the washer into the dryer last night. I had no clean jeans. Normally that wouldn't be a problem...just dig through the pile and get the cleanest pair and slap those bad boys on. Well, that was a problem because they were all wet! There was no time for drying, so I frantically searched the closet. Staring me right in the face was that pair of jeans. Those jeans that hugged me so brilliantly before the birth of my third child, that pair of jeans that refused to expand to fit my expanded figure. I boldly took them down out of the closet and began as I had so many times before to try them on. This time, I put my feet in and started to tug them up. Normally I wouldn't make it very far before realizing that I was getting nowhere fast and I would kick them off and hang them back in place so that they could mock me upon my next entry into the closet. On this day, something was different. The jeans didn't stall at my calves. In fact, they didn't stall at my thighs either, and met my hips with ease! I could feel the adrenaline flowing through my veins. I had actually pulled up this pair of "judging" pants.  I did not have to lay on the bed, hold my breath and pray that they would button.  They buttoned with ease!  Mock me no more, denim foe for I have conquered you!!! I managed to not only get these jeans on, but they were buttoned and zipped with ease! On this day, I can proudly say that I have dropped one pant size! Now, I suppose that my next move is to dig further in the closet and find another pair of judging pants!

As of today I have lost 15.5 pounds. I am currently doing the EA Sports Active - More Workouts 6 Week Challenge for my fitness regimen. If you're looking for an intense Wii Workout, I can promise you, this is it!!! It is a great all around workout. On Tuesday, when I was working out, I was doing reverse crunches. I really do think that my virtual trainer was trying to kill me. I was on the verge of tears. Okay, I was actually crying. I was digging deep, trying to do those last few reps. I was NOT going to give up now. Usually my kids will cheer me on, but this time they hovered over me asking if I wanted them to turn it off. My 4 year old said, "Mommy, are you dead?". I told him that I didn't think I was, although I sure felt like it at the time. The first thing that they said to my husband when he got home was, Daddy, the Wii almost killed Mommy today!!!

If you're also using the Wii Fit to get thin in twenty - ten, hop over to The Wii Mommies where you are sure to find lots of tips to help you reach your goal.  Thanks to everyone who has supported me along my weight loss journey.  I've had ups and downs, but with hard work and dedication I have realized that I can do it!  You can too!!!

Yes, I'm wearing those jeans too. It's a wonderful thing. I've got about 20 pounds left and I'll be where I want to be. I have sizes from 10 to 16. I'm in 12 now.

Have a terrific day and congratulations on conquering those jeans. Big hug. :)
