Conversations with Tyler

It was about fifteen minutes until 8:00pm, our children's bedtime.  They were all three in Shelby's room.  Their daddy had told them to come in the living room and settle down because it was almost bedtime.

Tyler:  Daddy did you call us?

Brien:  Yes, it's time to settle down and get ready for bed.

Tyler:  But, we're cleaning Shelby's room.

Brien:  Well, finish up and then you guys come in here and settle down.

...Enter Shelby...

Brien:  Shelby, ya'll get your room cleaned so that you can settle down and get ready for bed.

Shelby:  We're not cleaning my room, we're playing.

Brien:  Well, it's time to settle down, ya'll get in here.

...as they exited the living room to put away their toys, we heard Tyler whispering to Shelby:

Why did you tell them the truth?!?!  You were supposed to trick 'em and say we were cleaning that way they won't make us get out of your room!

This kid has it all figured out doesn't he?!  Pretend to be cleaning and the parents are none the wiser.  No parent is going to stop their child from cleaning.  We've got our work cut out for us with this one!

Cute story! You'll have your work cut out for you with Emily too, I have a feeling ;-)

She comes across as quite the live wire, Tisha!

Indeed you do! Come to think of it, Tyler rather reminds me of Jamie in some ways as she had it all figured out most of the time, too!

LOL...he must be getting tips from my son. In fact as I type this I keep telling my son to start cleaning up so that he can go to his room. Tonight his mess is in the living room. B.O.Y.S.

Now where did I leave my notepad... I have got to take notes. Your kids are inspiring. I need to know what to watch for with mine. haha.

I love these conversations, though. They always make me smile.
