It's official, I am a soccer Mom"

Shelby will start 1st grade on Wednesday. It is bittersweet for me. I have enjoyed spending time with her this summer but, I am also ready for some down time. Shelby has been a big help at the office with Emily. Since Emily is crawling, pulling up, and almost walking she is more than a hand full to keep up with while trying to accomplish anything resembling work! Emily will begin daycare after she turns one (on the second of September). My list of "to do" things just seems to get longer. From searching for refrigerator water filters at home to that darned printer ink cartridge at the office. It just seems that lately there are not enough hours in the day. I am constantly trying to play "catch up" with my blog, and trying to keep facebook updated through my twitter "tweets". It's a constant whirlwind, but I guess I wouldn't know what to do otherwise!

Last week I got in my truck on the way to drop Tyler off at daycare and had a bit of a time getting it to start. Once it did, it wasn't acting right. It was stalling a bit and then an alarm sounded and all of my gauges quit working. I had no speedometer, oil, or gas guages and the windshield wipers didn't work either. I called my "rescue" man otherwise known as my husband. He advised me to bring it to the office and he'd look at it. As it turns out he had to take it to our mechanic to look at it who in turn advised us to take it to the Dodge Dealership. We were told there that they could fix it and that it would take them at least five days before they could get to it. FIVE DAYS without a vehicle. You have to be kidding me?!?!

Brien half jokingly asked them what they would give him for it and they told him that it would qualify for the "cash for clunkers" program if we bought a new one. He scanned the lot and found this:
Needless to say after the normal "haggling" and such I drove it home. I LOVE IT!!! It has made my life so much easier! It has the keyless entry and on the key, I can push buttons to open either passenger slide door as well as the back hatch. That alone is worth every single penny we will pay for it. It is a Chrysler Town and Country with lots of room inside. I went from a four door Dodge Ram pick up truck to a four door mini-van! So, I would say this makes it official...I am a "soccer mom" even though none of my kids play soccer.

I thought this was going to be a story about Shelby starting to play fall soccer. :) SOOO funny. Something about turning 30 and being a mom ... I've secretly been wanting a minivan as well but haven't been able to give up my Sequoia just yet. You are most definitely qualified as a soccer mom ...

Well, get ready! My daughter and SIL did this for over ten years! She's finally thinking of trading in her Toyota SUV for a coupe!
Enjoy your new buggy...

And you will make a great soccer mom too. I love the van and yes it has much more room than the dodge ram. It will get better mileage too. Just saying. Enjoy.

Have a terrific day. Big hug and lotsa lovies. :)

My husband talked me into a mini-van five years ago, it has made my life as a mom so much easier. I think I will eventually get a smaller vehicle again, but for now, it works.
