High School Musical Live on Stage - The Review

The show was a blast. Shelby had such a great time. Her eyes were glued to the stage the entire time. She did manage to not muster up any tears during Troy & Gabriella's big "break up" scene. She had said that she didn't want them to see her cry. So, she managed to keep her composure during this tragic portion of the performance. (wink) Overall I would have to give the show two thumbs WAY up. It was a high energy performance and it included all of the hit songs from the show and I'm pretty sure there were a couple of songs that were not in the movie. In my opinion, the only performer that even slightly resembled the original cast was the girl who played Gabriella Montez. The fella who played Troy did not even come close to the original movie casted Troy. But, they all did a superb job at their chosen parts. The songs were beautifully arranged. The set changes were quick and amazing. There were no stage hands, the cast did all (well from what I could tell anyway) of the set changes, so they were hardly noticed. The voices of the actors and actresses were amazing. They had beautiful tone and the harmony was simply breathtaking! If this show comes to your area and you like to watch Broadway type performances, I would recommend it. If you have young children who like the movie they will LOVE the stage performance. As for me and my family...we give it a 10! I would go back and see it again, for sure. It was non stop entertainment full of high energy!

How wonderful Tisha. I'm glad that Shelby loved it too. Good for her for not crying. She is really a big girl now. Thanks for the review. Glad you enjoyed it almost as much as Shelby did. Have a great day. :)

I do like Broadway musicals but I think I'd have to pass on this one as the girls are not at all interested and I don't think it's one I'd go to on my own. That said, I'm glad that Shelby loved it (I was sure she would) and it sounds like you all had a great time. Noting beats a live stage performance!
