The 2007 Black Family Christmas Tree

We have our Christmas tree proudly displayed in our living room. The Thanksgiving decorations are in the garage awaiting their journey to the attic. This is the first year that I can recall putting it up in November. I usually wait until after Shelby's birthday to begin the Christmas decorating, but we're going to be really busy for the next few weekends, so we chose to do so this weekend. We did things a bit different this year. I normally do ribbon spiraling from top to bottom, but this year I went with bows. It's been several years since I've done so, and I am happy with the final look. Here's the 2004 look (in our old house):

...and 2006:
A yearly tradition consists of letting the kids pick out a new ornament for the year. This year Shelby's contribution was a beautiful snowflake shaped Tinkerbell ornament:While Tyler chose Spidey in the Spiderman 3 movie pose:The kids helped me decorate our Christmas tree, as always. I usually let them help and then after they go to bed, I arrange it as I see fit. Actually they did pretty well this year with distributing them evenly and not putting too many in one spot right at the bottom. I did not have to rearrange this year. I was quite impressed with the final look. Shelby helped to decorate in her new "Cheetah Girl" attire:While Tyler was content standing in a chair so he could decorate "the top":My mother in law was on hand to help put the hangers on all of the ornaments and help "fluff up" the branches on the pre-lit artificial tree. Hubby was standing by for moral support. He always wants to be here when we decorate, but takes no part in the process.
So, without any further adieu, I present to you, the official 2007 Black Family Christmas tree:
With the lights on
and in the dark

♥Merry Christmas♥

Wow Tisha! It looks gorgeous in the last picture with the lights off!

We bought an artificial tree a few years ago, and I would never go back. It's so much more fun to put it up whenever you want, and not have to worry about it drying out and falling apart!

We use a artificial prelit too. It's awesome. Love it. I just burn some pine candles to get the real tree smell.

Your tree looks very beautiful. I love the last photo. Now all it needs is tons of presents under it for the kiddos.

Happy Holidays

your tree is beautiful. Kids are cute too!

We did all of our decorating the day after Thanksgiving... except for the tree though. But we have tons of other stuff, including Hubby's train set. He goes all-out every year with it.

Oh my, it looks just beautiful! I was going to put the tree up last night, but this cold is kicking my butt! Today i'll get to it, and the kids will help me decorate after school.

Just wonderful, Tish. I get all warm and fuzzy just looking at your pics.

XOXO

Thats beautiful!!

We did ours this past weekend. We have our "main tree" in the living room, still awaiting ornaments and then a smaller tree in our entryway- like 300 feet away from the livingroom. I haven't decided what I want to do with the smaller tree. Right now it's lots of colored lights and candy cane bubble lights. Any thoughts?

Yours looks GORGEOUS! Love the White lights...so classy!

Beautiful Tisha. We put our Christmas up this past weekend too. It's just going to take a few more days for me to get everything done. Have a great day. :)

Almost makes me wish I did Xmas. Almost. It is for kids though, and without them it just isn't the same. Looks full of joy & wonderful though.

I'm just wondering: Did you ban Christmas in 2005? ;) It looks so pretty Tisha! I can't wait to put mine up-probably this weekend.
