Conversations With A Four Year Old

This morning we're picking out some clothes to wear to wal-mart, which as you know happens to be such a trendy place. I am wearing shorts, t-shirt, flip flops and a hat to cover my ubrushed hair! It is a huge ordeal picking out clothes with a four year old diva, almost enough to make you pull your hair out, seriously!!
I hand her a shirt along with a pair of shorts. She immediately tells me the shirt makes her itch and she doesn't like those shorts. I tell her that I would like to go ONE day without her whining or back talking. (Which by the way I don't believe for a minute is possible.) She bobs her head back and forth like a bobble head. All the while she's rolling her eyes, and her hands are propped up on her hips.

I smile a big smile and say, "Well, whaddya think? Can you do it? No whining and NO back talking! Wouldn't that be awesome?"

She is NOT smiling, and she is still bobbing her head with hands on hips looking at the clothes I'm holding like they are on fire.

I ask her yet again, "Come on, sis...Please?"

She still has a blank stare in her face and this time her eyes roll around a bit in her head. I am wondering at this point if I should call and exorcist. Her reply this time, "Mommy I can't promise anything!"

*Sigh* wanna read more conversations?

Hilarious. Don't have any daughters so I live this through my friends. Found you through the rockin bloggers list...congratulations!

My mother always said to me, "my greatest revenge in life will be when you have a daughter."

She lived long enough to see that was never gonna happen. All my son's friends say, "Mrs. N...good thing you didn't have any daughters cuz you would killed 'em."

I get the biggest kick out of reading about them!

Mine are all alot older now. Treasure them at this age because today you are their universe...some day you won't be.

Eva said it so well. The revenge thing is exactly what will happen. Now what you do when she complains is laugh very, very loud. That's what I do with my son. Bwahahah. It's so fun. Hang in there...it gets worse then it gets better. Have a great day. :)

It's pretty cool that every conversation with our children is better that the last.
