My Most Embarrasing Moment

This story takes place in 7th grade. I had a presentation in my English class. I was not a "popular" girl in school. I was not a nerd. I was really, just a nobody. I don't really remember what the presentation was about. I just know that I got up and did mine. The teacher gave me an A and I was off to my next class. As I was sitting in my desk, a girl who I despised sat down in front of me. This girl was one of the most popular girls in school. She was a cheerleader, student council, "prep" girl. She turned around and asked if I had just been in Mrs. "So and So's" Class. I responded, yes. She then went on to ask me if I had just given a presentation in her class. Once again, I said yes. She said, your pants were unzipped. I lauged at her and said, no that wasn't me. She said well, they said it was...insert my name. I quickly informed her that it wasn't me. My pants are zipped now and they were zipped then. She just chuckled and turned around. As she did so, I felt of my zipper. It WAS wide open. I was mortified. How could I ever fact my English classmates again!?! This would follow me for the rest of my life, what if I would forever remain the "pants unzipped girl"!?!?

All of that being said, I bet that today, I am the only person in that school that will remember this story. Isn't it amazing how things change?!?! Not that I would want to stand up in front of a crowd today with my pants unzipped, but it is quite odd how some things can be so horrible at the time that they occur and then we look back on them later and think that really it wasn't that bad at all.

I was a nobody in school, so I definitely had my share of embarrassing moments as well. Not one of the unzipped variety, though. That happens enough now...I can't seem to buy a pair of pants that will stay zipped. Lucky for me I wear long enough shirts that it doesn't matter, but that's irritating.

I don't think anyone would remember that, either. It's amazing what we hold onto after so many years.

Time heals all! Including the embarrassments of junior high school, thank God!

Great story!

Where I work at we have to wear uniforms that have cheep zippers that don't want to stay up, we all get busted all the time and it is a big plant, still if I get busted with my fly down because people are always more than eager to tell you, it always seems to hurt my pride a little bit:)

Ooooooh. Been there, done that ... just recently in the middle of the newsroom. Yikes!

I'll be browsing your blog a bit later. Here via the carnival. Thanks for stopping by my blog, by the way.
