Cute e-mail
I got this e-mail from my best friend this morning. I thought it was too funny not to share!!
I met a guy for dinner last night. It was over in 40 minutes (I did
eat a great sandwich and he paid). These were my signs thatit wasn't a
match made in heaven:
Clues that it wasn't a match made in heaven:
1) i order a beer (we were at a brewery, afterall) and he ordered a
sierra mist.
2) i said something he agreed with and he squinted his eyes closed,
smiled a cheesy-smile and nodded vigorously. if this doesn't sound
like a clue, have someone near you do this.
3) when asked about why he doesn't do more in baltimore (he lives 15
minutes away) he responded "there's only a few good places there. the
ravens stadium. the orioles stadium. and the inner harbor is okay."
(*cough* -CHECK PLEASE- *cough*)
4) "yeah, so i've been living back at home with my parents since january"
5) "i really only have two friends. one is a bum and one is too busy
to do much." (yeah, sad, but i'm proof that is not that hard to meet
new people and make friends in this area)
6) "i have traveled a bit. i went to niagra falls when i was a kid and
i've been to cancun, atlantic city and vegas. mostly i prefer to
travel locally. like once a year my parents go to ocean city for two
weeks and i normally go for a week. i like to hang out by the pool...i
prefer the pool to the beach." (in regards to travelling locally, see
#3..there ARE awesome things to do around here, but he already said he
doesn't like to do them!)
7) "i have been at my job for seven years. i like to get somewhere and
stick with it. the work is kinda boring and the people aren't great,
but it's consistent."
the thing is, i know my eyes often betray my attempts to be nice.
however, he didn't make much eye contact, so it was okay.
"i had a great time. i'll definitely e-mail you." "um, okay."
We shook hands at the end.
heh.
