Sleep Apnea
Well, it's official! My husband has been diagnosed
Sleep Apnea.
He now has to wear a mask while he sleeps. I am not sure of the exact term for this breathing apparatus but it is surprisingly quiet. *I just did some research and this machine is called a CPAP.* He wore it for the first time at home last night. It was a peaceful night. He didn't snore loudly as usual or stop breathing for what seemed like minutes at a time. I am so glad that he finally got diagnosed with this and is being treated for it.
Anyone out there have this condition or a spouse with it?
Comments, please?
I'll keep updates about his mask and how it is going.

I DO! I DO!!
Have a spouse with sleep apnea that is. As her condition got worse, I got more and more worried. Started hearing people tell stories of people laying down to take a nap and never wake up because of this condition. So I constantly make sure she has her mask on. I have even woke her up in the middle of the night to make her put it back on. Hey she gets mad, but she puts it back on. She used to have bad headaches, shoulder aches, back aches EVERYTHING ached. Plus she was mean as shit. I love that breathing machine... Gave me my wife back.
I am glad he went to the Dr. and got this taken care of. It is a serious condition that not many know about.
I can tell the differents when I dont wear my mask and when I do. Like David said I was very mean because I wasnt getting enough sleep and Im the type of person that NEEDS sleep. Not many people know about sleep apnea, and it can be very serious. Thank you David for making me go :)
My brother in law actually had surgery for his snoring. Thank goodness for the rest of us.
Sleep Apnea, from what I understand is very scary especially because the person who has it can't really tell what is going on.
Hopefully things will be better for your husband!
Me Too! My husband has sleep apnea and sleeps with a mask. It has saved our marriage in a way because we can sleep in the same bed which wouldn't be possible without the mask his snoring is so severe. I think it is a God Send. His machine is also very portable, we take it everywhere with us and it is no big deal. My advice is to get one with a humidifier as it can really dry out the nose.
The one my husband got does have a humidifier on it.
It does seem to help with his snoring but I can't get used to the noise of the mask.
Fair trade/wind sounding noises or snoring??
