Timeless memories
Today I took my 2 year old daughter and niece to the park. It was another beautiful day, although it was quite windy today. First we slid down the big slide. The looks on their faces as they came down that slide was priceless! The look of excitement combined with a twinge of fear reminded me of times I played on the playground...climbing up that tall ladder waiting with excitement and anticipation to get to the top. Once there, having that slight urge to turn around and go back down, but fighting that urge and sliding freely down that slide. It was worth all of the effort!
We went from the slide to the swing. Now swinging brings back LOTS of playground memories. My best friend and I swung away many recesses holding hands and singing! The excitement my beautiful little daughter had on her face as she carelessly swung on that playground today almost brought tears to my eyes. To think that this wonderful little miracle came from my body! To think that she was enjoying something that I enjoyed so much as a child. It was a timeless moment that I will never forget. One of those times that I will always cherish...she will soon forget, I am sure. But, I will never forget the fact that she couldn't stop giggling as she swung higher and higher!!
