Happy Birthday!

Today is my *little* brother and sister's 19th birthday!!!
It's funny cause I still call them little, eventhough they are 19.
They will always be my little brother and sister...even when we're all old and gray!

Last year when they turned 18, my other sister and I took them to Outback for dinner.
We all had a really nice time. It'd been a long time since we all went out and had dinner, just us!
They got their pictures made with the outback kangaroo! It was pretty funny.

I remember when they were little, Mandy would carry around my little brother (he was the oldest, but smallest) in a little ball. I would prop my little sister up on my hip and we'd carry them around everywhere!
There are 8 1/2 years difference between the twins and myself. So, when they came along I was old enough to help change diapers, feed, burp, and all the things a big sister loves to do!

My mom worked a lot, so I feel like they are my kids...I helped to raise them. I wouldn't trade a minute of that, though. It makes my bond with them so special. Nobody will ever take that away. In fact, my little sister is pregnant with her first child (I think it's a girl although they haven't been able to tell in 2 ultrasounds) and it is still odd for me to think of her being old enough to have a baby of her own! In my eyes she is still that pretty little blue eyed, blonde haired little sister that looked up to me and wanted to do everything I did.

My little brother has always had a hard time! He was raised in a house full of women! Yes, I will admit that we did put him in a dress once. He fought us, but we won him over. That was usually the case. He was the sensitive type. He knew women cried...A LOT, and he was always there with his arm over our shoulder telling us that it'll be okay. He still is. It's just hard to believe that he has a girlfriend of his own now that will love the fact that he was raised in a house full of women, so he knows just what to say when there is a need for something to be said, and just how to listen when he needs to listen!

So, on this day I'd like to say to my "little" brother and sister
Happy Birthday to you!!!!

I think in my mind they're always 4 and we're always 12. I have the most pleasant memories of them standing on chairs to help me do dishes. And Bubba waking up SOOO cuddly in the mornings while he was still kind of sleepy and had slept in. Not having had any younger siblings of my own, I'm so fortunate that you had yours to share. And love!
