Another baby update

I stopped by the hospital yesterday and Haven's pediatrician came by while I was there. I got to see him talk to Theresa and Joe through the nursery glass.
He said that he was looking at Wednesday as a projected 'going home' date.
They have started weaning her from the oxygen. She is doing well with it.
They have also began to let her have a taste of breast milk. Theresa is pumping and they are giving her some through a syringe to get her to learn how to suckle, swallow, and get her digestive system working. The dr told her to begin to increase that today. When she gets completely off the oxygen, they will try to begin teaching her to suck from a bottle nipple and then go to the breast. When she is able to be detached from all of her machines, they will allow her to spend one night there in the hospital with her mommy and daddy to make sure things go smoothly transitioning her so that everyone involved is comfortable with the situation. I was pretty impressed with that. They are letting Joe and Theresa stay in the hospital now eventhough she has been released so that she doesn't have to drive back and forth.
