Today's saga...

So I get this letter yesterday from my insurance company (names will be left out of this blog so that I don't get sued b/c I don't have nice things to say) saying that a dr visit for my husband will not be paid and several dr visits for myself will not be covered due to "Medical Records Not Received". So, I call them and they said they sent me a letter wanting me to fill out on all the dr visits I had between period A (before my coverage with them) to period B (when they began covering me). I filled the form out, although I thought it odd, and sent it back to them.

When I called them today, I spoke to a very unfriendly "customer service" rep. She informed me that they had sent me several letters with no reply. I was unaware that I had to get my records and send them directly to you...WHAT did you say your job was again? Why am I paying such a high premium if I am having to do all the friggin' work here!? Crap!!!

So, I called the drs office and the lady there in medical records was super nice. She said normally they send her a form and she fills in the info and sends it back. Then for my husband's case who didn't see a physician during the requested time frame, there is a box to check that states that they didn't see the patient during that time. But, if she needed for me to get them copied, she would do so and I could come pick them up, and she would even type on letterhead from them stating that they didn't see my husband during that time. THANKS, for some real help!

Well, I called back to the "insurance company" and talked to a different "customer service" rep. She wasn't as unfriendly as the first, but she wasn't friendly either. She informed me that they were resending letters to me and my dr's office to be filled out but that we wouldn't be covered until they recieved this information.
WHAT!? I have had this coverage since September of '04 and they are just now getting around to letting me know that they need this information! Whatever...I don't think it should be my worry! That is what I pay them for, right. They should be able to call or write or whatever they do to get the info they need! Crap!

Arrrrghhh...so that is how my morning has gone. With having a baby on the way, I darn sure don't need to hear that I am paying my insurance but they aren't covering my visits! Crap!!
