Today was the first baby shower for my little sister, Theresa. She is pregnant as well. It's funny 'cause my middle sister and I were pregnant at the same time with girls. So, I figure that Theresa and I will be pregnant together with boys. We'll see. Neither of us know what we are having, but it'll be fun if we both do have boys raising them together. This is her first child. She is 18. She will turn 19 in April before the baby arrives in late May/ early June.
Anyhow, the baby's daddy's family had a shower for her today and we were in attendance to meet most of his family because my sister and I had never met any of them and mom had met a select few.
She got lots of diapers, wipes, butt creames, etc. So, that should last her for a couple of weeks. HEH!
It's just odd for me to see her pregnant. She has always been my baby sister. I know 18 is still young to have a baby. She did drop out of school, so there are a few strikes against her. I don't necessarily agree with the choices she has made, but you can't go and change that. I am proud of her for stepping up and accepting responsibility. She will make a good mommy. She is a good Aunt. It's just a hard concept for me to accept because she has always been 'my baby'. But, I guess that'll all change. I guess I'd better quit reflecting 'cause I am getting teary eyed just thinking about it.
Wow...
